Tried this place for takeout for the first time. It's somewhere around 3.5-4 stars for me. Online order process easy, on time, friendly staff. Had a sampling of entrees and samosas. Samosas pretty good, can't go wrong with those. Had paneer tiki, nice quality and flavor. Good for a mild dish. The gongura curry was a new dish for me. Something a little different, not bad. The chicken biryani here was disappointing for me, it's not a bad dish but it lacked all the flavor and spices of a typical biryani. The chicken is bone in dark meat and pretty good. Again, it wasn't bad, but if you want authentic biryani that's not it. Like most Indian restaurants, they have some things worth getting on the menu, but everything isn't great. I'd say it's worth giving a try for your favorite dish.

The food is great with the exception of the cold green beans and the ancient, reheated, dry tandoori chicken. The only choice we were given was the thali and it didn't all come out at the same time. I had to talk the server into giving me the drinks we had ordered and my masala chai was not fresh and nuked to the temperature of lava. The hours on the door are not their hours of operation. It would be a shame to see them fail after surviving all this time during road construction.

Got the buffet, which isn't like a buffet you might expect. They bring you a large assortment of items on one plate. You don't pick and choose yourself. The food was pretty good, but I could only eat half of it because I was full. I asked for a to-go container, but they refused because their policy is to not allow to-go boxes for the one plate of food that they gave me. I never asked for seconds of anything. That means they either waste a lot of food or they re-use it by throwing it back in the pot. Both possibilities are offensive to me, so I can't go back.

Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had! Went for lunch and got their buffet. Great service and even better food! It was so delicious that I ate so much I didn’t have room for dinner. Definitely highly recommended!

A really good authentic Indian restaurant.Their "lunch buffet" is not what you would think. Instead of a bar where everyone can make a mess and spread germs, it's all served to table from the kitchen. A much better experience!Portion sizes are good. The flavors and spice levels are authentic, so if you don't like spicy food, order mild. The samosa chaat is fantastic!Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options, including a vegetarian lunch buffet offeringKid-friendliness: Kids menu

If I could give 0 stars I would. I can't decide if the treatment by the staff or the food was more disgusting. My fiancé and I eat Indian food regularly from Bombay and Fresh Mint (both miles better than this place) and we have never had an experience like this. The waiter had one other table of 4 men when we arrived and still brought out all of their hot food before greeting us. 15 mins or so go by, he comes and takes our drink order and runs off before we are able to order. 10 minutes go by, he checks in with the other table then gives us two dirty glasses of room temperature water and says "what do you want." Ok... we order our usual spread of apps and entrees and wait another 20 mins or so before our gobi Manchurian and samosa chaat arrive. The gobi is very very stiff and burnt like it's been double fried and was soaked in sauce to try to cover it, pretty much not edible. The samosas chaat was ice cold on the inside and had clearly just been microwaved. At this time another table of men had arrived and he spent another 20-30 mins with them before coming back to deliver our mains of tandoori chick and malai kabob. After the poor showing on apps we were starving still and hoping for some good entrees. We could not have been more disappointed. I heard his interactions with the other tables and everyone was asked their spice level preference, we were not and were given the driest, blandest most disgusting meals we have ever been served. It really makes me sad that they would treat us so differently than their regular clientele, when someone comes to enjoy the food of your culture you shouldn't decide they can't handle it based on the color of their skin. Extremely disappointed in the food and the experience itself. Never dining here again.

Service was quick and prompt, but could have been friendlierThe tikka masala wasn't bad, but could have been spicier. Naan was good as well, but I think they overcooked it a bitI'd put it on par with Fresh Mint downtown, but below Bombay Grill

I love Masala House! They're the best Indian in Morgantown, hands down. My only note is that I wish the service was a tad better, it's a little awkward and it's difficult to get a refill on drinks if you eat in.

We ordered lamb but were served shrimp. No ice in our water glasses. There’s a 20% tip included (which we had no knowledge of) on your tab for large parties. There were 2 adults and 3 children eating. Tab was totaled and presented on a device the waiter had in his hands. There was no way for me to see the 20% tip was on the tab so he actually helped me enter a tip. He never brought it to my attention that the tip was included. All we were offered was MAYBE some discount (never mentioning the amount) whenever we returned. Our credit card representative called them to dispute the hidden charge. He told me the person at the restaurant was not cooperative at all. I can file a dispute once my statement arrives. I have no need and no desire to return to that place. So, just a heads up if you plan to eat there. For almost a 40% tip I’d have expected much more than we got. They’ve lost my family’s business and they’ve gained negative feedback and recommendations from us.

My daughter says its the best she's ever eaten, out of maybe 10 Indian restaurants, I just might agree...our new fave go-to in motown. Charming cook and waiter, we dined at about 3pm, so we were alone and after we felt fat and happy, had a lovely chat with staff. It is pleasant to have the opportunity at an off hour to become acquainted with our hosts.

Omg the food was excellent! I got the curry and it was so flavorful. Couldn't put my fork down! Have to come back ASAP. We came from 45 mons away and it was worth the trip!Vegetarian options: They have an awesome selection of vegetarian dishes and options for vegetables and paneer in a lot of dishes.

Who is cooking here these days? Instead of being served in bite size pieces, the paneer pieces in the saag paneer were giant chunks. Neither typical nor appetizing. And the saag curry was completely tasteleless! Then the naans—onion naan and paneer naan—were twice the thickness of regular naans. We had trouble tearing off pieces to eat. Finally, in place of gulab jamun with custard (gulab jamun trifle, which is what we ordered) all we received were 3 doughy gulab jamuns! Very disappointing.

Two adults and 3 children went there for lunch. We ordered lamb but were served shrimp and no ice at all in our water glasses. The tab was handled on a handheld device the waiter had. My tip option was entered by the waiter who made NO mention there was already a 20% tip included. I told him how much to enter but he should have notified me there was already one included. He didn’t. There was no way I could have seen the tab before the additional tip was recorded. So this waiter got almost a 40% tip (for his error in ordering the wrong food). I called my credit card representative. He told me the waiter was less than cooperative (sort of rude). He said there was no way for a refund but he could give us a discount the NEXT time we go there (no discount amount was stated either). We WILL NOT be returning and neither will other family members or friends of ours who eat out regularly. The only thing they will get from all of us will be negative comments about our experience there. Ordering and delivering the wrong food, no ice and the tip gouging did it for us. Word of mouth is the cheapest and best advertisement- too bad our experience was certainly nothing to brag about.
