Service was very slow. Lattes were less than lukewarm and not very tasty. Staff was not the most communicative and forgot some items in our order. The highlight of our experience was the ambiance of the cafe.

Great selection, and I believe it to be a great value as well. The tall barista is pretty dang groovy baby. Staff is so friendly and welcoming. Would recommend to anyone, especially if that tall guy is working there mmm mmmm mmmm ?Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian options available, and most things can be made vegan/vegetarian as well.

As a college student with much studying to be done, this is my favorite place to do so. Not only is it at a lovely location along the Monongahela River, the inside of the cafe is even lovelier. All the cashiers and baristas I've had thus far have been super sweet and more than helpful to accommodate any needs I've had. The food as well is great, the fruit is amazing, the sandwiches are great (hence why I've gotten two of the same kind), and they're super accommodating for those gluten free. the potatoes are great as well!! I absolutely adore this place. Super cute and supports local businesses, is animal friendly, takes mounty bounty, has tons of cute stickers, shirts, etc., not sure what else you could ask for!

Really yummy breakfast! We got two breakfast burritos with fruit bowls as the included side and a plain bagel with cream cheese. All of it was delicious! The burritos were very filling. The fruit bowls were surprisingly big and filled with blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and bananas. The bagel was also good and tasted bakery made and came with a good helping of cream cheese. We also got a decaf hot latte and a campfire latte. The decaf was very good and the campfire was good just too sweet for our preference. They have a few tables of outdoor seating along the rail trail which is nice. No view of the water because Table 9 restaurant blocks it. We had a great breakfast and highly recommend!

We went on a Saturday for lunch. Great food. Quick and tasty. The location is walkable from the Riverside Marriott - just know you need to enter through the office building to get to the cafe. One note - this cafe does not open until 9 a.m.

Bought a cinnamon roll and was disappointed because it was hard as a rock. Had to use a knife to cut it apart.

I love their hot latte, better than Starbucks. We usually get a burrito and breakfast sandwich. The location is perfect for a quick bite and walk.

If I could give 0 stars- I would. The only good thing I’ve had from there was the time on the patio with that gorgeous view. I ordered an avocado toast- avocado on a toasted slice of bread. And was greeted with avocado on *untoasted* FLOPPY wonder bread. I’ve never had that before when asking for toast. It left me so flabbergasted I didn’t even eat it I just threw it away. I’m not too sure what happened or if there was a miscommunication- but I thought the order was pretty simple. Avocado on toast. The only two ingredients and they got it so wrong.

The river view needs its own google maps page! Checking hours in maps could be confusing. I also wanna note too that finding the entrance was not easy. Some River View signage at both doors would be nice, as well as signage at the top floor. The hours on River Birch was confusing and the whole two locations, same building, different names, different hours, different entrance thing was a bit more difficult than it needed to be.Anyway, the rooftop bar River View is amazing and will be a frequent stop this summer. Not sure their plan but parties, dancing, DJ nights, and events would be amazing. Motown has great bars for such a small town but doesn’t do a great job breaking out with new stuff that’s active for a younger population beyond students. There are pubs, clubs, breweries and bars but a nice nightlife bar thats modern and energetic is what’s missing in town.Anyway, off my soap box, good beer/drink selection, great views, once you find it! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Morgantown or looking to mix up their routine

Punch line: We will not be returning. I'd recommend trying another local cafe. Review: We are traveling through the area and stayed at a nearby hotel that had a full service "popular green mermaid chain" within it that we very easily could have grabbed our morning coffee and a breakfast sandwich from but instead we did what we enjoy doing and sought out a local nearby café to support small instead. After a quick yelp check, River Birch Cafe was a short distance and seemed to be a promising option . After finding a parking spot... our first impression walking into the cafe was that it seemed like a fun, brightly lite natural atmosphere, there was a cute propagation plant wall for sharing (which is always such a fun concept). We went to the counter to order, after ordering some drinks and food we found a table and waited an average time for everything to come out. While we waited we tried the blueberry muffin I ordered - it was super dry, crumbly and tasted days old with a bland flavor. When our coffee was ready, I was so eager for a sip, I mistakenly promptly took a drink and it was so scalding I burnt my tongue and it tasted horrible to boot... it was bitter, burnt and watery (for reference we got a brown sugar latte made with oatmilk and a regular dairy almond latte). Once our food came out that too was also a disappointment, my eggs on my breakfast sandwich were room temperature, the bagel was not toasted and the bacon was paper thin and tasted like the microwave type. Might be the first breakfast sandwich I've ever ordered and not finished... I could go on to say more but instead I'll just say we won't make this café a stop along our travels again. It is nicely situated along the river which makes this even more of a bummer!

Ordered two lattes and some food. They forgot the bacon on my sandwich, both lattes were burn-your-tongue hot, watery and burnt. Food was bla as well, we didn't eat most of it . A $40 mistake, we won't be back.
