Our first visit here and the service was excellent. The food was above average, but not my favorite Italian in the area. Our waiter recommended the cheese sticks for an appetizer, which I initially found a bit odd, but after trying them, it made total sense. They are clearly not frozen, but made fresh and fried to perfection. We were all sad when they were gone. Our entrees were good - lasagna, chicken parm, and a salad. The prices seemed a little inflated, but with A+ service, I didn't mind as much. This won't be a regular stop for us, but maybe a special occasion.

The staff was very nice. The provolone sticks were delicious. The sauce was delicious. The only disappointment was the serving sizes. When it comes to Italian food, you do expect to get far more than we received.

Have enjoyed this restaurant since it became an Italian restaurant. But my most recent meal was a disappointment. The Bolognese sauce was bland as was the Italian sausage. In fact, the sausage tasted as if it was freezer burned and recently thawed. Major disappointment as Italian sausage is generally flavorful. Portion size of my pasta was pretty small too. And the martini tasted watered down. I hope management reads this and steps it up. I want this place to endure because it's a nice spot to dine.

Great Italian food and service! Hunter did a great job. We highly recommend San Marzano Restaurant!

Came here with family visiting as it's a new Italian place in town. To my surprise, they had a wonderful setting and vibe that does make it seem like you're in little Italy. They have specials on a regular basis and a good variety of different pastas to choose from which is also a huge plus. The bread is excellent and is serviced with olive oil, the classic way. I personally had the spicy chicken with angel hair pasta and I demolished it. It was a perfect portion for me. I look around the table and the portions are HUGE so be prepared to take food home with you. It's a great thing if you think about it as you get what you pay for. It's moderately priced and the service is quite excellent. Ask for Molly, she's phenomenal. I would definitely come here again.

Beautiful atmosphere, service was fine, but the food was terribly bland. The name San Marzano is apt, because the only identifiable taste was often tomato. The sauce they called marinara was in fact just tomato sauce with a bit of onion, and the chunks of tomato in it were still partially raw. The Italian sausage my father received was unseasoned; as he put it, "someone needs to introduce the chef to a spice rack."

San Marzano was nothing short of perfect! Isabella (server) was on point, personable, friendly and informative overall awesome to work with. The fresh bread was delectable and endless. It’s so good and don’t worry if your table eats a whole loaf there’s always more! Cocktails were very refreshing and booming with flavor! I went with a tequila based lemonade (forgot the name)…..well a couple. Appetizer: We went with the Fried Raviolis for an appetizer and they were amazing! I finished with the Fra Diavolo ~ Spicy Cream “from the devil” with shrimp and it was to die for! (Spicy) Desert was a Tiramisu (home made) it was a great way to finish the dining experience at this fine Italian Restaurant. Things to mention, after reading other reviews, we came in early on a Tuesday and we’re immediately seated and served, others have mentioned waiting, I can only imagine how busy this place gets on Friday/Saturday nights and holiday weekends so make reservations if you’re planning a visit. They have an outdoor patio with a nice authentic feel to it and the inside decor is very swanky as well. Cheat Lake/Morgantown locals don’t sleep on this joint, it’s a gem. I’ve been to Pugs, Olivario’s and Nano’s while they are all nice choices this one stands out to me as the best dinner option. Nano’s is great lunch option. Price and portions were very fair and portions, well you’re probably going home with left overs. I can not wait to go back! I may treat myself this Father’s Day! If your dad likes Italian cuisine then knock his socks off with a reservation to San Mariano’s! If you’ve gotten this far check out other places I have been on my Instagram account @motownfooddude

I have celiac disease, so immediately my options are limited at an Italian restaurant. There were a couple of options I could freely choose, but the one had been discontinued (was still on the menu) and the other was sold out. The waitress was very patient and answered our questions as we tried to find something I should eat and she wasn't afraid to ask for assistance. She did give a suggestion for a dish. The dish as it was I did not like it. But with a less tart sauce or even without sauce just adding salt or garlic salt would be much better

Never come on this app unless it's really worth it and San Marzano is worth it. Been in FL (Tampa, Orlando, Sarasota) for the last 3 years and I've had some pretty good Italian. This is among the best I've had and it's honestly too good to be true in Morgantown. Chef killed it. Staff was friendly. Nice lighting and dining area. Didn't go to the bar but it looked great. 10/10. Will keep coming here when I'm home to visit! Please keep this place here at all costs lol.

We definitely found our new date night spot. The atmosphere is very nice and our waitress, Molly, was very kind, attentive, and helpful. The food was absolutely incredible. The bread and dipping oil were so good. We ordered another loaf. We ordered the mussels and mozzarella sticks as appetizers. Very, very good. The sauce with the mussels was incredible. We even dipped our bread in it. We both got wedding soup and I don't think I could've eaten it any faster. For our entrees, we got the gnocchi and chicken Marsala. My boyfriend is a major foodie and is super critical of food. His chicken Marsala was the best he's ever had and it's his favorite dish. My gnocchis were cooked perfectly too. This meal was delicious. Our only complaint was about the marinara. It had a different taste than I've ever experienced before. It had a smoky flavor to it and it wasn't my favorite. The kitchen said they don't smoke anything so I'm not sure what the ingredient was, but I didn't love it. I'll be ordering Alfredo next time I go, but I'm definitely going back. Also, the price point for everything we ordered as well as the quality was insanely reasonable and cheap. We were so pleasantly surprised. Definitely give San Marzano a try!

We've visited four times and were very pleased. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere comfortable and enjoyable (although I'd suggest mixing up the old-fashioned Italian music occasionally), and the food is good, although a bit too much sauce on the entrees. Their salads and bread are AWESOME. Come with an appetite because you will leave stuffed. Some have claimed that it's pricey but we didn't find that to be the case. No more expensive than any other high-quality restaurant. Thrilled to finally find a nice place to eat on the eastern side of town.

We waited a while on our entrees. When they finally arrived my husbands meal was cold. We asked our server to take it back to reheat it. She told us that there had been a mix up with our order, that's why it was cold and that she would take care of it. They did reheat it, but after this it was inedible, the pasta was overcooked, and the chicken was rubbery. When we asked to have it taken off our bill, they would only give us off half of the price and offered us a dessert. Though we appreciated the offer, I believe that if the restaurant messed up the meal it should have been taken care of. We will not be going back and will not be recommending this place to our Cheat Lake friends

Lobster Bisque was good but could use more bread. I got the pasta and meatball and the portion generous with three large meatballs. The meatballs were very good, but other than that it's nothing crazy. The interior is very pretty, kinda serving west coast. Best Italian I've had in/near Morgantown.

Food and service were very good, but I would only recommend it if it's for a special occasion/date night/etc. Got the Diavolo and it had a bit of a bite to it compared to the other "spicy" dishes around town.

Met a couple friends for an early dinner. Couldn’t have been more pleased. Service was perfect, menu had something for everyone, food was delicious! Loved the ambience. One of the better restaurants in Morgantown for a pleasant dining experience…:-)))
