While I agree with a lot of the reviews that this place was not a good location for the steak ‘n Shake, I do think a lot of the other reviews are absolutely unfair towards the employees and food, as I will explain.
Food price: As affordability goes I’ve fed my family of seven for $50 (including shakes!!!). Not even McDonald’s is capable of providing this amount of food with that level of affordability.
Quality of the food: I drove five hours with five kids specifically to get a steak ‘n Shake burger for my anniversary. We stayed in a hotel and drove five hours back the next day. I was not in the slightest disappointed with my meal and it was well worth the drive!
Service: people seem irritated that it’s a self-serve kiosk as if that’s some kind of horrible thing. Do you not realize they’ve taken away the need to tip someone? I don’t understand how in this economy that’s a bad thing. On a $50 tip I’d probably end up tipping $15 and my meal would have cost me $65 instead of $50! There was a problem with the bathroom while I was there (they ran out of toilet paper) but I notified the manager and it was fixed immediately!
Cleanliness: it was one of the cleanest steak ‘n shakes. I’ve ever been in. Steak ‘n Shake bathrooms are notorious for being gross, they’ve been that way since I was a small child but this bathroom wasn’t dirty at all. It was frustrating that they didn’t have toilet paper in there but again it was ratified rather quickly.
Being a big family we get a lot of dirty looks almost everywhere we go. Even with well-behaved kids a lot of places look at us as if our kids are gonna be a big mess and we’re gonna leave a disaster for them (which we don’t). Yet not once did the employees make me feel uncomfortable for having a bunch kids.
The entire town’s infrastructure sucks and giving it a one star review because the town’s infrastructure sucks comes off as obnoxious and Karen-y…. It feels like a lot of these reviewers were looking for reasons to complain (and if you check out there other reviews, you can kind of see that that’s a pattern).

If I want a good burger, I’ll go to the Suncrest Pub. Decided to try this because of other ones I’d been to before. No flavor on the burger, two of the smallest pieces of bacon I’ve ever seen. The fries were decent and my shake was good. Over-priced for what you get.

There were only 2 people in front of me in the drive thru and it took almost 15 minutes for them to make my meal and shake. Then when I was handed my shake I noticed that it wasn't full (~2 inches from the top). I asked her why it was half empty and was told that was normal. The top also wasn't on all the way so when I tried to put the shake down the top slipped off and it flipped over and half of it spilled into the floor of my car. The lady at the drive thru saw this and didn't offer to remake the shake or even a few napkins so I could clean up the new mess. So I paid $13 for a tiny sandwich and a half empty shake that spilled all over my car because they couldn't be bothered to put the top on correctly. 0/10 I will not be back.

I was happy when I saw steak and shake open cuz I used to eat there in FL everyday but this place sucks I got a large number 5 the burger was so salty I had throw it out insane amount of salt my Dr pepper was literal water it was so water down it's a literal joke location sucks food sucks drinks suck fries suck

I ordered thru the drive thru and tried telling them my order in which the girl kept interrupting me during said order, in which in turn my order got messed up completely. Not only that but my sprite was flat and the burger boxes were so greasy that they fell apart.

There were 4-5 cars in the drive thru. It took me about 20 minutes for 1 car to move so I could get to the speaker. I was then told it would be a 25-30 minute wait. I agreed since there were only 4 cars ahead of me and I already waited 20 minutes. It took more than 30 minutes from that point to get to the window. It should not take over an hour for a fast food joint to serve 4 cars. Food was good and hot but not worth the wait.
Parking: Location is VERY tight to drive around.

Arrived at 11:30 a.m. Ordered double cheeseburger, fries and strawberry shake. Shake is big enough for 2. My wife had the same except had a diet drink from fountain. Very busy drive through line. Overall much better than some of the ratings I have seen. Would definitely go again.
