Terribly underwhelming. The image attached is what I left after losing my appetite to bad food. Macaroni was peppery and strange, the coleslaw lacked any sweetness or tang— it was mayo slathered cabbage and flavorless, kielbasa was bone dry, and the 'texas toast' wasn't toasted or buttered. Tea and fries were fine but no better than a Wendy's. Walls as plain and uninspired, the music was completely off and boring. It felt dead and tasted bad. I came in starving and left without an appetite for all the worst reasons.

Got some food to go. Fam got chicken sandwiches and I got the 3 meat platter. Forgot my fries. If you pack food in containers for take out it’s doubly important you get it right. Platter was all pulled meat. Looked like slop. Sides were not good. Suggest skipping.

Our first time visit on December 19, 2025 to celebrate my birthday. We didn’t order any appetizers, we ordered the Church platter and shared it. Service was fast and very attentive. We went with the potato salad and slaw for the sides, the slaw was very dry and tasted awful (I couldn’t even say what it tasted like, but nothing like slaw) and the potato salad was much better, very dry and not a good taste. We chose the chicken, pork and beef as the meats, they were delicious and the chicken was our favorite. The waffle fries weren’t too bad, maybe a little overcooked. Everything got cold very quick, not sure if it is because everything is served on metal trays? But everyone’s tastes are different, so give it a try, the meats are delicious!

Backyard BBQ hosted a private event for WVU Medicine Children’s Surgical Sevices Holiday party. We had an AMAZING time. The staff was spectacular and went above and beyond for us and the food was great, too. The upstairs space holds up to 180 people. We had more than enough room. We ate, we sang and danced, we play pool and had so many laughs. Definitely recommend having a private party at Backyard! We will be back.

I had this place years ago before they reopened and it was amazing and today it was just as good! We loved it! We ordered a ton just to try everything! The food is great! Very reasonable prices! The fry sauce could stop a zombie apocalypse, so so good.

Food was delicious, only complaints were the wait to get our food, took 45 mins and was only 2 of us and when I got it, it was cold , I had the pork and Mac n cheese. Also had the hot dog with pork and slaw and it was delicious. Quality 5 stars out of 5. Quantity 3 out of 5 stars.

This place was an unexpected surprise. Really good pulled chicken, Mac n cheese, and beans. Burger was really good too. Service was excellent. Outdoor seating was perfect. Clean, tasty, solid.
