We use to LOVE to come here. We constantly came before moving, we came to town and had to stop! Had a wonderful mocktail, server was nice but maintained bar and regular seating so we didn’t get to see her to voice what was wrong. We ordered the sun dried tortellini and the tortellini was hard.. Also one plate had a significant more amount of food on the plate than the other. The charcuterie boards use to be AMAZING! They are now very tiny, I had chose 5 cheeses and only got 4 on my board, but somehow paid for 6. After sending my bill back to be fixed I was still charged for 6. I’m really disappointed in the quality of food compared to how it was a year ago.

Outstanding food and service in a great atmosphere. A wonderfully warm, local place.

I recently enjoyed eating two separate evenings at The Wine Bar at Vintner Valley in Morgantown, WV. The times happened to be on a Thursday and a Friday night. (I booked ahead because RESERVATIONS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.)

The ambience is warm (full, but not loud), the service was very accommodating, and the food provides new experiences. The menu has some of the most unusual and tasty items one will find in the area. The chef has clearly trained and worked in different regions and brings these tastes to Morgantown. In addition, the menu provides options for customers with dietary restrictions, such as gluten-free and vegetarian needs.

I’m sure the menu changes seasonally, but all the foods tasted great, including Long Stem Artichoke Roses with aioli sauce, Green Goddess Fries, and salmon cakes. Our friends shared a beautifully put-together charcuterie board, including items for guests with GF restrictions. The chef has created a “pickle” category that tickles the curiosity and taste, including pears, peaches, radishes, and ramps (try this Appalachian delicacy with a pickled twist). I found the pickled ramp with a smidge of goat cheese from the charcuterie board a delight, with no cracker needed.

For entrees, the table had a mixture of items with nothing but euphonic sounds of “mms,” which is a good sign. I had the tortellini, which was GF, and enjoyed every bite, and had plenty to share with others.

In the dessert category, the dark chocolate mousse had the perfect texture and taste, and the cheesecake with the caramelized topping was delicious. All desserts are reportedly made in-house.

I recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I were excited to try this place on date night. We got there and nobody was in the place and we got turned away because we had no reservations. On the website it said reservations are recommended not required. Nobody was at the restaurant which is odd to turn away customers. Never will even try to go back.

My friends and I opted to have dinner and cocktails here a few days ago and there aren’t enough wonderful things to say about this place. The food was great and the drinks were equally as fabulous. The staff was incredibly accommodating too, as we were there on an unusually busy night. We had Stephanie as our server (this was probably our 3rd time having her) and she was awesome; very attentive and checked on us a lot. I have family coming into town soon and can’t wait to take them here soon. Will be back for a lemon drop martini soon!

This place is amazing! The environment was very welcoming and the warm ambiance makes it a great place for a date night! It’s a small hidden gem on Burrough Street in Morgantown, WV.

There was a nice selection of wine choices and our server was very knowledgeable and even had some great recommendations. We did the build your own charcuterie board and it is a definite must! The flatbread was also a great choice and delicious.

The service and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend a reservation since it is a small restaurant and gets busy!

Overall I would highly recommend this place! I have a feeling you will not be disappointed!

This is the last time we attempt to stop here. In the past it has been an above average meal, priced as expected, and slow service. Still willing to bring our business there, we attempted to stop Friday at dinner time. The website says reservations are not required, and are available for parties 5 or larger. We arrived, party of 3 (with a 9yr old child), and were told they couldn't serve us without a reservation. Went down the street to Smoking Js and were welcomed at the door and immediately seated. We won't waste our time stopping there again.

Our friends always enjoyed our time at the Wine Bar and supporting small businesses. However, a disrespectful employee has ruined our thoughts on it, and cannot return until she leaves. Sarah had zero solutions for us other than being rude to our group and gave us no other option but to leave. This is after we we placed our food order and drinks. I hope never treat someone like that. Any time but especially in the service industry.

They sent a reminder text that our reservation was 6pm- we thought it was 6:30 as we had these for some time. We called, they said they can change it to 6:15pm and said a 15min grace period. So 6:30 was fine, then our babysitter canceled last minute due to the weather. In a massive rush to locate someone to watch the kiddos we were 25min late but spoke with the hostess on the phone. She said it will be ok if we are able to place our orders immediately. No problem! Sarah had different thoughts and approached our table multiple times with a contentious attitude. Again, I hope to never give anyone that type of grief. You have no idea what others go through so a simple smile can go a long way.

This is a gem of Morgantown. The service is always wonderful, the food is great, and the wine is lovely. I want to go back and try the cocktails. We tried all four desserts and loved them all, but the chocolate mousse and hot chocolate were tops.

I love going here. The ambiance is great and the people who work there are really nice. I also like that they have gluten free food and label it. Unfortunately the last few times I’ve eaten there the food was well below average. One time the bottom of my burger was burnt to a crisp, making it inedible. I took it home and cut all the burnt part off at least making it edible. The last time I ate there the meat was rubbery, the potatoes cold and one actually uncooked and the veggies soggy and tasted mostly like pepper. It will likely be the last time I eat there. I don’t know if others have been experiencing this. I would have sent the food back both times, except we were on the clock and didn’t have time for them to fix the food. It really is unfortunate since it is otherwise a really nice place.

Really nice ambiance inside. We had dinner at the bar on a Friday night, the place was booked up but we were able to walk in around 5:30 to catch the end of Happy hour. We really enjoyed the cocktails, meatballs, and the Tuscan chicken Alfredo. The pizza was mediocre, the texture of the crust was soggy and didn't seem to rise. However, the service was excellent and we still enjoyed the meal. I'd definitely go back and try other items on the menu.

Reserved a reservation for 4 pm, doors opened right on time, our menus and glasses of water were sat before we arrived so we didn’t have to wait a single second to be seated. the service was great and the moscato was delicious, we had an issue with the bill but it was resolved quickly.

i would heavily advise a reservation because it helped the atmosphere feel so classy. especially accompanied by the dim lighting. i will 100% be returning.

Vegetarian options: i had the fettuccine alfredo, half of the starters were vegetarian, and there were plenty of flatbread options. i didn’t feel restricted by the choice. but the options are vegetarian, i didn’t notice any that were vegan

Parking: Parking around the side of the building, super easy to get to. it has both handicapped and plenty of additional ones
