This time the food was overcooked. Filet was dry, ribeye was too fatty. Both baked potatoes were semi-warm., butter barely melted. Most times its great and unusual for two of us to have compromised meals on the same night. Must be a new cook. Service was great as always and we didnt complain about the food because we were hungry... but cancelled reservations for the following evening. The ventilation was horrible the evening we were there, smelled like a steakhouse for HOURS after we left.
Since the new owners have bought mountaineer the place is going extremely downhill. they don't pay out they don't give perks for the members like they used to at all and the offer of two consecutive complementary nights in the hotel are crock. My husband and I booked the two comped rooms two different times one of which being our daughter's 21st birthday and both times we were told after the fact on the morning of the second day that we were not allowed to stay the second day and had to go. it just happened again we booked on a Monday through Wednesday and we're told at 4:00 Tuesday morning that the rooms that we got which are handicap rooms were supposedly VIP rooms and could not be honored for more than one day so once again we made plans and book rooms and spent money all night to be told conveniently after the casino closes that we've got to be out by 11:00 a.m. . every single time that they realize that there's a comp room that they offer they make sure that one way or another they can get rid of the people in those rooms so that they can rent them to people who pay cash it's obvious although everybody spends the same amount of money at the casino and the only way that you can earn cold rooms is if you spend money this place is absolutely terrible it just keeps getting worse and worse and anyone that you talk to from all over the place different states included say it save your money and your time and the headache and go to Wheeling or The Meadows or the rivers even Hollywood gaming in Youngstown is becoming better than mountaineer. I'm not afraid to say the people who own this casino now are the same ones that are running the casinos in Vegas into the ground because their money hungry and only want to make and take money.
Seems they were a bit understaffed this night..kitchen was backed up and we waited about 45 minutes for our entree to be served..waitress did apologize and keep us posted which we appreciated. Food is overpriced , but very good. Nice fine dining experience. Guess you pay for that, but worth it to us for a date night. Drinks are high end..bartender does a GREAT job. Enjoyed our time there. Forgot to mention..we were seated right away as we had reservations, however took about 15 minutes for server to visit our table..again, maybe they were understaffed this night? Seems like all restaurants are since Covid.. Will definitely eat there again.
They had a nice special with a filet and crabcake for $35. Both were very good. Crabcake was my favorite.
All I can say is when you makes reservations Be SURE to have them read their notes special requests etc back to you and check on reservation often. I got burnt during Fall Bash
Always a great meal. Parker is amazing and makes every experience beyond expectations and fun. Thank you
We love the LBV Steakhouse at Mountaineer. We always get the petite filet and it never disappoints. It is just enough and melts in your mouth. I just wish a salad was included along with the potato. We always have to pay extra for the salad which I believe should be included as one of your sides. Overall, we love to go there.
Good snack shop
My server's name was Parker. The restaurant was busy and understaffed. The weight was long. I'm an experienced fine diner. A lot has changed since the post Covid. I totally understand two things that stood out. I asked for a Heineken. The server just placed it on my table, not even pouring it into a glass I had to ask for the glass Second at the end of the meal I received the crème brûlée and my server didn't even ask for an after dinner drink or coffee he seems very rushed. I left him 20% tip which I felt was above and beyond because I'm understanding that servers usually don't make a lot of money. Would I go here again? Maybe I'm not sure when you're paying over $100 for one person, I guess I expect a little more, but I guess that's the way the world is today not like six years ago.
Avoid. Make the drive to the next casino.

Good Steak Dinner. overall everything very good. my NY Strip was a medium versus a Mid Rare but sending it back just takes too long when we had plans for the evening. fab food otherwise. we will go back.
We had the best Mother's Day Brunch! The entire staff made the entire dining experience so special and all of our dishes were delicious.
May 7th 2025 Would HIGHLY not recommend! What has happened to the Mountaineer Casino? The place is going downhill. The Gadsby restaurant food/service even with food comps is disgusting. The employees need let go. They need to clean house! The cook/waitress could use A LOT OF training. The customer service is beyond appalling. They took the feedback machine out of the hotel lobby because they do not care at all about customer service. I won’t be back nor will I recommend this place.
Bread was hard Service was terrible put us way back on a corner and I think they forgot about us Steak was cooked wrong not a good filet
Another year older another year at LBV! This restaurant never disappoints. Two different varieties of warm bread is immediately available - which is a big plus for me. The portions were not skimpy - my latest pet peeve amongst other restaurants. The biggest selling point is the excellent staff that always aim to please coupled with the wonderful live piano entertainment which promotes a relaxing atmosphere amid the lively casino. The crab spaghetti was delicious as well as the petite filets. Love the truffled potatoes and button mushrooms. Enjoy a glass of wine served at the perfect temp while dining on this venue's delights! Be sure to make a reservation as early as possible as I believe the restaurant is only open on the weekends.
