Had been wanting to go there for many years as I saw it was close to the Mardi Gras Casino, but mostly because Diehl is my maiden name, but as far as I know, we are not related. If you want a hot, home made family style meal, this is the place to go. Lots of choices and our waitress could not have been nicer. We saw the sign from the road and the outside looked outdated. However, sometimes appearance are deceiving. That is an understatement for Diehl’s. The walls inside are adorned with license plates, NASCAR photos, memorabilia as well as cowboy film stars and memorabilia. It’s totally different. We enjoyed lunch so much we came back for dinner and ate every bite both meals! I wish they were in my hometown. Every single thing was delicious: salad, fried chicken, hot rolls, mashed potatoes with or without gravy, green beans, apples, fantastic coleslaw and amazing chocolate pie! Don’t miss this gem of a hometown restaurant.
