The only reason it was noisy was a local high school was utilizing the hotel and patio for homecoming pictures

Good food and service. I had salmon and my wife had the sea bass. Overall a great experience.

The meal was overpriced for the quality of the meal. I could've had a better salmon (taste and quality) at an Applebee's. Lounge service was poor during dinner as they seemed understaffed/only staffed by one overwhelmed bartender and we spent half our meal listening to the bartender/a server celebrate selling someone an $84 margarita - couldn't tell if the patron knew what they had ordered based on the conversation but it made us uncomfortable enough to be noteworthy. Proceed with caution when ordering from the bar with that in mind I guess. No breakfast/brunch available on Sundays, which was a shock and very inconvenient.

We’re staying in the hotel and decided to try the restaurant, as it’s been close to 30 years since I was here.
I’ll start with the good. The patio area is really pretty, it looks like they have a setup for live music (we were there on a Sunday of a holiday weekend, so there wasn’t anything going), the atmosphere is quiet and lovely, and the staff were helpful and friendly.
And the bad. This is not an inexpensive dinner, but the quality of the food does not reflect the price. I got the bourbon glazed salmon with bacon fried Brussels sprouts and a baked potato. The potato was hard in the middle, so I sent it back only to get another potato that was hard in the middle so I gave up. The sprouts might have once been in the same room as bacon, but I doubt it, and they had the same texture as if they’d been boiled, not fried. And the fish was okay. My husband had the chicken piccata with fettuccini, except his pasta was penne when he got it, the chicken was soggy and had no flavor, and the sauce was watery. But on the plus side, my old fashioned was decent.
In short, maybe come here for overpriced drinks and apps if you’re feeling fancy, but eat your dinner somewhere else.

We love the old world feel of the hotel Only issue is bell man wasn't there when we arrived. But the front desk personnel came to our aid. Restaurant was outstanding. We will return in the near future.

Love this place for food, live music, the beautiful garden patio and the historic, amazing hotel!

Service was excellent. Food was very good, the only drawback was the side item (onion straws) which were severely overcooked ... my wife would say burnt.

Note: This review reflects only my experience at the restaurant. The hotel itself was excellent—our room was perfect, and every staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, and helpful.

I had high expectations for our dinner at the Blennerhassett Hotel’s restaurant, given its reputation as one of Parkersburg’s premier establishments. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing and marked by a series of avoidable errors that reflected a breakdown at every level of service and management.

Our meal started off well with two fantastic cocktails, a bread basket, and a beautifully plated shrimp cocktail. However, things quickly went downhill. After a lengthy wait for our salads, the server brought both the salads and our entrées at the same time—a basic service misstep that should never occur at a restaurant of this caliber. It only got worse from there. My wife’s entrée was incomplete: one of the two side dishes she ordered—roasted Brussels sprouts—was missing, and the lemon garnish that should have accompanied her crab cakes was also absent. We only realized the garnish was missing when another guest, who had also ordered the crab cakes, was served his dish—with the lemon and two side dishes.

In contrast, my entrée—salmon with roasted Brussels sprouts and asparagus—was very good: well-prepared, properly cooked, and served exactly as expected.

The line chef inexplicably plated an incomplete dish, and the server failed to notice before delivering it. When we pointed it out, the server apologized and said she would retrieve the missing side. When the Brussels sprouts eventually arrived, they were undercooked—cold and mushy inside—and should never have left the kitchen. The line chef again failed to ensure quality, and the kitchen as a whole demonstrated poor execution.

The server returned to say the chef was sorry and that we would receive complimentary desserts as an apology. Yet, when the bill came, we were still charged for the carrot cake. I asked to speak to the manager, who listened to my concerns but explained that the restaurant had served 93 guests that evening. That number, in my opinion, is no excuse—especially given the many empty tables in the dining room. A restaurant of the Blennerhassett’s stature should be able to execute every plate flawlessly, regardless of guest count.

In response to the issues raised, the manager offered a modest $15 discount on the one entrée that was entirely mishandled and removed the dessert charge that never should have been applied in the first place. This was not an adequate resolution for a meal so thoroughly flawed. It reflects poorly not only on the chef and line chef, but also on the server and the manager, who had an opportunity to make it right and failed to do so.

This experience left both me and my wife completely dissatisfied. The Blennerhassett Hotel's restaurant, which should set the standard for fine dining in the region, failed on multiple levels—from the kitchen to the dining room—and did not take meaningful steps to correct its mistakes. I expect more from a restaurant that aspires to excellence. They should expect more of themselves as well.

Hands down the best most elegant place to drink and dine in all of Parkersburg, it's in the downtown area which is kind of dying but this place stands out as a beautiful property. Excellent food, especially the sea bass.

Waited over 1 hour for appetizer service was horrible. Ended up canceling our order. Several customers around us waited over 3 hours to get food served. No apology or compensation off bill offered.

Beautiful hotel that's recently been renovated but our restaurant experience was a nightmare. Twenty minutes after we were seated, we finally convinced a server to take care of us. Two others blew us off. After ordering, it took 40 minutes for our appetizer to arrive, and another 30 for dinner to arrive. Then my ahi tuna was cooked well done. Not our server's fault and when the manager stopped by, she said they'd been slammed with orders due to their outdoor event but now we had our food so she hoped we would enjoy it. This was a special occasion and we'd made reservations more than a month in advance. Other tables got tired of waiting and paid for their drinks (which should have been comped but weren't) and they left angrily. Worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant.

I would have given 5 stars. The dinner was outstanding with great service but the breakfast on 6/25 was poor. I was the first one in the restaurant for Breakfast and had to wait 20 minutes to get omelette and hash brown casserole. Only two other people were in the restaurant after me. Everything including the coffee was like warm at best. Hashbrown casserole looked like it was left over from the day before (inedible).

I had Prime Rib and my wife had Salmon. Our server was excellent and the food was precisely cooked to meet our request. I thought it was superb dining.
