Went yesterday evening and the service was TERRIBLY slow. Tried to get the waiters attention multiple times as he passed by my husband and I and was completely ignored. We ended up not even ordering. The food and service has went, drastically, downhill since they moved from Southgate Plaza.

We went in to try the food before ordering catering and the food was good. We asked about catering and the staff didn’t know anything. They put us on the phone with someone and while talking about the order we got cut off. I gave my number to the staff and was told I would be contacted back right away. Two days later after sending a follow up email I was contacted. That should have been my first sign. We discussed the catering order and everything went great, but I was sent an estimate and it had the wrong delivery time. I sent an email to clarify. I didn’t hear back so I followed up two days later. Didn’t hear back. I called and there was no answer. Needless to say I have called two different numbers multiple times and left voicemails on one. I have emailed two emails multiple times. I have Facebook messaged this business page two days ago. While I don’t expect an immediate response from a busy business, having a client who has a fast approaching event go over a week without communication is poor practice. It is now 3 days before the event and we have had no response. We don’t know if they intend to cater. We haven’t been sent a link to pay. No one has answered about the wrong time on the estimate. I’m now in a bind looking for catering in a different city than where I live. While the food is good, the communication practice is terrible. I’m really disappointed in this expierence as the food in the restaurant was good and the catering person we spoke to was so nice and helpful. We really thought we were going to have a great expierence.

Last week was my first time ever eating here. Officially my new favorite Mexican restaurant. Was seated very fast, the waiter was very sweet and checked on us multiple times. The food was AMAZING! Loved how open everything was! The best margarita I’ve ever had!!

Friendly staff, excellent variety on the menu, and the food is always fresh and flavorful! Add on that they are always able to accommodate however large a group we bring (often 15+) quickly and efficiently and El Mariachi is my family's Go-To restaurant in South side!
