Boomtown Cafe is a great little gambling room, staff is always nice and welcoming. Hours of operation are Sunday 11-2 if not later. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 10-2am if not later. Friday and Saturday 9-2am if not later, such as the machines cut off at 3:30am. May be opening at 9 am every day soon! The place is always nice and very clean, offering sodas, coffee or water plus snacks to all customers.💰🎰💵

During our two-day drive home to Iowa from Virginia, we were getting hungry and I pressed "restaurants" on the Google Maps route. It suggested Boomtown Cafe. Yeah... that other guy is right-- this is NOT a restaurant. Shame on you, Google! I can't actually comment on the atmosphere, because my father shut the door just as quickly as he opened it, saying, "Yeah, we're not eating here." A lovely lady (don't know if she was the owner or a patron) followed us out and offered some restaurant selections. That's the main reason for my 5-star rating--that and the fact that it gave us a good story that we've already told twice to friends. But the lady was right: "This is a gamblin' place."
