Great happy hours

Bench Warmers is my hometown bar and I truly love this place. Al is hands down one of the best bartenders around — welcoming, attentive, and someone who makes everyone feel like a regular. My friends and I keep coming back because of the atmosphere he creates.
However, I’ve had repeated service issues with another bartender, Whitney. On multiple visits, I have been ignored or refused service despite not causing any problems. It has made me feel uncomfortable in a place I otherwise enjoy, and it has discouraged some of my friends from wanting to come back as well.
I genuinely want to see this bar continue to thrive, because it has loyal customers who care about it. With consistent and professional service across all staff, this place would be unbeatable.

Very good Dive Bar! Meredith the bartender was very friendly and informative. They do .50 wing Tuesdays and the wings were great! Chicken Tenders and fries are $10 and an option to add 2 more tenders for $5. Plenty of TVs if you’re looking for a game day spot and an out door bar as well!

We went there for my birthday. I ordered the Ruben sandwich with fries, my friend ordered the chicken sandwich and my boyfriend ordered the steak and cheese sandwich. I got no thousand Island dressing so I had to ask for more, although it was orange sauce it was NOT thousand Island dressing. My girlfriend said her chicken sandwich was too dry and my boyfriend was given a chicken sandwich too. He could not eat his food. When i
Got back from Gettysburg really late on Tuesday, and food options were incredibly limited... Thank goodness, Benchwarmers came to the rescue! Great burger, onion rings, beer, customers, & staff! I wish that I wasn't leaving in the morning, so that I could just hang out all night!

Great food. Try the pretzels, among the best I've ever had at a bar
A nice go to spot in Charles Town.
Pretty solid bar…Great Happy Hour/daily specials. Food is your typical pub grub but done nicely (I like the wing flavors and Cheesesteak egg rolls). Great bar staff and welcoming regulars.

I ordered a smash burger and onion rings. The onion rings might be the best I’ve ever had. They were definitely real. The burger was excellent. Also, I think they finally got a cook in there. That’s doing a very good job. It’s a very friendly atmosphere to do so I highly recommend going there to eat or drink
Very friendly staff.
Went to watch a fight and the damn music played the whole time and excessively loud. Made the night not so enjoyable. Would rather have heard what the commentators were saying than some 90’s trash music.

Summation from a few visits.
First visit with the kids was a pleasant experience. Mostly fried bar fare, but executed nicely. Wait staff was friendly and attentive.
Second visit was later night with my brother. We had a great time at the bar. The servers were super friendly and fun to talk to. They did skip a couple songs on the jukebox I added. There were a bunch of college kids there that night who didn't care for 90s punk rock.
Most recently went with the kids again around 630pm. Kids are welcome there until 9pm, or so I was told. Typically, sports bars ("bar and grill") that welcome children until a certain hour will limit the the allowable shenanigans until after that time. Here, not so much. Someone decided to queue up a number of songs that would make a stripper blush (think WAP) and the staff turned up the volume.
I strongly advise against bringing your kids to this establishment even if you have done so in the past and had a pleasant experience. You are at the mercy of the manners of the other patrons. I ended up sending the family to the car and I just got our order to go. The food was okay. One of our burgers was raw on one end, so keep an eye out if you get one of their larger burgers. The chicken wings were decent.
