Elk River Inn & Cabins

I stayed at Elk River Inn during a trip to the area for a marathon. There were options to stay closer to town in which the marathon, but from everything I heard from the other runners, I made the right choice in staying here. It was quiet, great Wifi coverage, and provided an INCREDIBLE view of the night sky and stars. The room was both comfortable and spacious, and I appreciated that refrigerator space was made available to guests.

In addition to my excellent on-site experience, I also appreciated the owner's communication, flexibility, and assistance. During the marathon, I was bitten by a dog. Not only did Mary check on me, but she was also kind enough to ask around and find out who the dog's owner was for me so that I could get their information! She truly went above and beyond, and I'm very grateful for it.

We had a wonderful stay during our recent weekend ski getaway. The room was warm and cozy, and in convenient location to the mountain. The daily breakfast was wonderful and the hosts were responsive to our questions and needs. We loved our visit and will definitely stay again!

We have stayed at the Meadow rooms for multiple trips over two ski seasons and have always been very happy with our stays. The rooms are comfortable and very spacious, with satellite TV. The water pressure and temperature have always been good, and it's very easy to find with ample parking. The drive up to snowshoe is very easy and it's nice having a gas station and food within a minute or two drive. The stays included a hot breakfast at their Inn a couple minutes down the road and are always delicious and freshly cooked! Mary is always very friendly at breakfast and is an excellent host. We love that this allows us to make multiple trips during a season since staying on the mountain has gotten too expensive. We can't wait to return for another trip!

Safety: As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe here.Food & drinks: The breakfast is wonderful! Different offerings was each day and very hearty and delicious. So happy I stayed here.

Gil went out of his way to provide a last minute bike shuttle for the Greenbrier Trail when our plans fell through on short notice. It was wonderful to meet him and learn about the area and many activities and attractions. Super friendly and helpful, you couldn't ask for a better local guide! We didn't actually stay at the inn, but we plan to the next time we're in the area.

What a great place. Owners (Gil & Mary) are wonderful. Guides (Mark and Caleb) absolutely rocked.Went with some friends in late winter for a fly fishing trip and mother nature had other plans. The Staff and guides still ensured we had a great time. We had such a good time, we recently came back and my friend proposed to his long-time girlfriend right on the river.Magical place, super inviting staff, great cabins.Highly recommend.

Great little lodge with excellent an breakfast included.Best deal around if you are looking for a place to stay near Snow Shoe.The room was very clean and the bed was nice and firm.Great wifi and satellite tv ad a bunch of channels.If you want a room with peace and quiet so you can rest after a long day of skiing, this place is for you.I look forward to my next visit!

Always enjoy my visit to Elk River Inn. For a B and B, immaculately clean room. Comfortable bed. Awesome breakfast.

We (5 families with teen aged children) were on a skiing trip at Snowshoe, and booked a 3 night stay at Elk River inn, just after Christmas . The inn is a 25 min drive from the ski resort, and this proximity was a key criterion, when we booked our stay online.We arrived after dark on Dec 26. The premises was easy to locate thanks to its well-lit sign board. The car parking area had ample space.Check-in was a breeze, as we informed our host of our arrival times in advance. Our hosts were very understanding of our needs. All interactions via email or text or whatsapp were prompt and clear.The two Inn rooms and the three Meadow rooms were clean, well maintained, efficiently heated, and had everything we needed for comfortable and relaxed 3-night stay. The bedding was comfortable. The WIFI was reliable. Water from the faucet is drinkable and great tasting, and so no need to worry about carrying gallons or worry about running out of clean drinking water. Just FYI - The meadow rooms are 3 miles north of the Inn, and the premises was easy to locate.The restaurant is welcoming, delightful and a great place to enjoy breakfast, which was ample and awesome. We had vegetarians and non-vegetarians in our group and each one of us enjoyed the spread.There is also a separate sitting area which is warm, homely and a great place to stretch out and relax after a long day of skiing.Our 2022 ski vacation was very memorable, thanks largely to Elk River inn. Given its proximity , affordability, cleanliness and comfort and great hosts, we would love to come back again, and highly recommend it to any.Chris Prem, Montreal, Canada.

Our family along with 4 other families stayed here. The rooms were overall really organized and cozy. The bathroom was clean as well, but had low water pressure in the shower. The rooms also had a few tiny cobwebs on the ceiling and some dust under the drawers.The provided breakfast was amazing and the staff was incredibly helpful, giving us advice on Snowshoe Mountain before we skied. The main lodge is about 20 minutes from Snowshoe, and the Meadow Rooms are about 15 minutes away.Elk River Inn is a wonderful and cozy place to stay for any size, and is a great private place to come back to after a long day. Recommend for all.

Clean & nice owners. 1/2 roll of t paper in room & low water pressure. 75 miles from Walmart in Elkins. There is local Par Mor store. 20 minutes from Cass Railroad. Other than that not much to do other than fishing, skiing in winter or mountain biking. Nice trip to c fall foliage, though. Left day early to get proper shower @ home.

We stay at Meadow Room 1 & enjoyed the peace & quiet. The room & bathroom was clean. The beds & pillows comfortable. The free breakfast was absolutely delicious & the staff so nice! Highly
