The food here was outstanding. We have visited on numerous occasions and each meal was fresh and flavorful. Service has been great. The owner has always treated us and is very friendly.
First time trying and will definitely be the last. My son chose Angela’s for his after graduation dinner after reviewing the menu. We had a party of 7 total but separated checks 4/3. Waitress took our drink order walked away and we didn’t see her again for 20 minutes. At which time I placed an order for 2 appetizers, Buffalo shrimp and the crab dip, which ultimately was the only good and flavorful food of our entire meal. My son ordered Angela’s filet ($30) medium rare and received a medium well filet with baked macaroni and cheese and the noodles were overcooked and was the consistency of baby food and Italian green beans which he said were ok. I ordered a salad with ranch dressing and the dressing tasted like dill seasoning and Chicken Parm ($18) and the chicken was burnt and the marinara sauce was overly bland. My other son ordered Spinach stuffed chicken and a salad. Once again the noodles in this dish were overcooked and the chicken was bland($16). My niece ordered the fried jumbo shrimp ($18) which were good sized shrimp but had zero flavor, mashed potatoes and corn. The other party of three that were with us was underwhelmed as well with their food options and service. I asked for A1 sauce and that took 15 minutes to get and I had to ask for a basket of rolls which she forgot and I had to remind her and then thereafter took 15 minutes to get. Gratuity was added to my bill which she made me aware of at the time of handing my bill. I paid with a card at which time when reviewing my bill had to inquire about the added charges because I paid with a card. I don’t leave reviews let alone a bad review, but I feel like with the prices of the food at this so called fancy restaurant, I had to voice my (our) opinion so as to warn folks that the old saying you get what you pay for does NOT apply in this case.
The food was great and the service was fast.
Quaint old house. The fried food was fried not greasy. If it is supposed to be spicy it is. Every dish we had was excellent. Service was timed perfectly. Nothing to complain about.
Had a great time, food was delicious, staff were so helpful and sweet. Will be back!
We dined here yesterday evening as a large party for a birthday dinner. It was mine & my sister’s first time here. Service was meh, food took forever to come out, & the women’s bathroom downstairs smelled horrendous. The calamari, chicken livers, & spaghetti were good; everything else had a strange taste to it. Other party members said the cabbage soup was not good & neither was the gravy for the baked steak- they said it tasted ‘spoiled.’ My dad’s cajun chicken pasta was watery. The mac & cheese was simply disgusting- no one at the table liked it, including my 2 yr old who will literally eat anything (he cried when he took a bite- that’s bad). Needless to say, we will not be back.
Service was good, food was awful. I could have gotten better food from a buffet
we had dinner there tonight an the food an service was amazing! will definitely be back soon!
Food was ok, it may have been better if it was warm, service seemed random. The staff and kitchen were probably overwhelmed by the large party taking place.
Had a wonderful meal at Angela's on the River. Great view of the river and beautifully decorated for the holidays. Loved the crab stuffed whitefish. Service was excellent. And got to meet Angela and had a nice conversation with her.

Have attended numerous Holiday events at Angela’s and each year surpasses the previous one. Angela does a spectacular job decorating for Christmas and provides exceptional customer service.
This is my review on Angela's on the River. The ambience was just relaxing. The staff were friendly and patient. Out waitress was wonderful and prompt. Angela the owner was so sweet! This was my first time to restaraunt and my experience from tonight will prompt me to return. Onto the food and drinks... Starters: The give you rolls and butter to start with, the rolls were warm and delicious. Appetizers: We opted for Linda's Hot Crab Dip, this was was warm cheesy, buttery with soft crab. The baguette and flavor paired beautifully with the hot crab dip. Drinks: We got coke and diet coke, for a refill they.nring you pitcher style refill that you can self serve, that was awesome! Adult beverages: tequila and tonic on ice & Manhattan both were delicious. Entrees: Madeline's Rib Eye ( medium rare/well it was an in between) with scalloped potatoes and macaroni and cheese. No sauce needed for this rub eye, my partner have me a good chunk to try and I was able to cut this with a butter knife and that's how steak should be!!!! The flavor of the steak was unique and delicious, I can't honestly say I have never eaten steak that tasted the way it did. The scalloped potatoes were delicious, different as they were chunky and i preferred them that way and my partner enjoyed them as well. He got the macaroni and cheese and it was good and I liked the cheese flavor. Crab Stuffed Whitefish, that is served over a bed rice, sides were Italian style green beans and scalloped potatoes, as I stated above they were delicious. The greens beans were sooooo good, but I am a huge fan of these style of green beans, they were flavorful and the perfect temperature. Dessert: We got this to go and we haven't tried it yet but we got a slice of apple and a slice of peach cobbler. 10/10 recommend and we will return! Also, the people that were dining next to us were also celebrating a birthday. We met a sweet little lady who just turned 90 on Wednesday and we wished her a happy birthday and she got to meet my partner who just celebrated their 50th on Wednesday. We chatted with her for a few and then she left, we chatted with another couple across from about the encounter we just shared with that sweet lady. On to my experience with the owner. I was drawn in by her Christmas scene near the bar as it resembled a Thomas Kincaid setup, which was my late grandmother's favorite thing put out on display this time of year and made me feel sentimental and this is where I ran into Angela herself. She greeted us and asked how everything was and without a beat I told her it was the best restaraunt dining I have experienced and the food was delicious especially it being my first time there. I told her I will be back in the future. We hugged. She is incredibly nice and runs a nice establishment. To me it speaks volumes when the owner is willing to get their hands "dirty" right a long with the staff. That is called leadership and I witnessed that tonight. Also why are you all sleeping on this place, give it a chance and try it out yourself!
Love the food, service, and atmosphere. We dine there at least once and twice weekly. Prices are reasonable.
There was a faint smell of sewer in the bottom bar area. Customer service was unprofessional. Order was wrong. Chicken and pasta was overcooked. Not a good view of river.

Beautiful restaurant and friendly staff but the food was horrible. Everything tasted like a stomachache.
The lasagna had very little flavor… what flavor it did have was like bad meat. Sautéed mushrooms were soggy and tasted nothing like a mushroom. .
Was afraid to eat either of these. Bread with the crab dip was rubbery and drenched in oil.
Waitress saw that neither was eaten and just asked if we needed a box , did not ask why they weren’t eaten.
Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
