Nice restaurant, burger was just OK but cheesecake fluff dessert was amazing. Food took quite a while to come out but it was hot so probably situational. Coffee was not great, don't recommend.
Amazing home cooking! Came for Mother’s Day early dinner and was not disappointed. Large portions and all 3 meals were delicious.
Great atmosphere!! We love diners!! My family and I stopped here on our way to Billy Bob's Wonderland in Barboursville. We all got breakfast and it was excellent!! We'll be going back to try their pie!! Our server was excellent and so sweet!! My only complaint is I wish I lived closer!!
Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly!! Everyone was very polite and friendly!! Made my family feel right at home!!
Folks, are you tired of the same old drive-thru food? Maybe you’re out on the highway, with your eyes about to glaze over. If so, the place to stop is Lloyd’s in Flatwoods, WV. Conveniently located right off I-79, it is true home cooking like it used to be. A classic feel, with classic comfort/southern/appalachian specialties, as well as burgers so large you need a knife and fork. That said, make sure you save room for dessert or take some with you because the pies are the stars of the show, or the surprise encore! It has been a local secret for a while, but the secret is out! Stop by, and tell your friends about this delightful mom n pop-run classic diner! Love it!!
It was quite the experience. I read tons of reviews about this place. A lot complaining about the bigot conversations, the cash only and there's no sign. Welllllll, that's a bunch of bull. We walked in and were instantly greeted and sat down. Had a menu and our coffee with in minutes. By the way, the coffee was perfect. I enjoyed the atmosphere, not many people, but it was filling fast. When my breakfast came, I was surprised to see 2 plates for a sausage gravy and biscuit, fried potatoes and scrambled eggs. Now it's time for me to describe the food. I tasted the gravy, it was pretty common gravy. The biscuit was good, just the way I like them. it was sliced in half because it was so thick. The fried potatoes were pretty good also. But now it's time to talk about the delicious goodness of the scrambled eggs. They were so good that it's like trying to describe heaven, (you just can't). I know, you're thinking what's so special about scrambled eggs, right? Until you try them, you have no idea what you're missing. I can't wait to go back.
Hidden gem off of I-79. My husband and I live in North Carolina and we travel to Pittsburgh several times a year. We decided to try this family style restaurant and it did not disappoint!! The staff was super friendly, atmosphere was very welcoming. Everything is made fresh, we tried the country fried steak and hot turkey sandwich- both amazing! We also tried the homemade pies- I recommend the gram cracker pie. We are thrilled to have found this restaurant and will be returning! Highly recommend!!!
Food was awesome and the service was better... Never knew this lil place existed. The waitresses had on matching shoes to their shirts. I don't know if it was on purpose, but it was cool...
I meal was way over priced. 2 people with coffee was 67 dollars. That was the valentines special for 2. Was supposed to be 44 and all inclusive. My husband and i shared a piece of cake. It was not a 67$ dinner. More like 15 to 20 a piece. But there was 7 of us who will never return. Our waitress was fantastic.
This location is short staffed. Which causes long waits and confusion. The rolls were hot and good. Catfish dinner was served hot and good. I ordered spaghetti dinner it came out ice cold. Sent it back and it still came back cold. Chili was good. Cornbread was quite good. They only take cash or checks. You pay at counter when done.
Nice clean friendly restaurant. Portions were generous and very good. They sell homemade pies which unfortunately I had to skip. Hopefully I drive through there again.

Very disappointed! After looking at the recent reviews we were excited to try this restaurant but it was a huge let down. One of the over med eggs was very well cooked with the yoke broken and almost gone so they put the 2nd egg directly on top as if we wouldn’t notice. The home fries were bland & still hard in the middle. The oatmeal was inedible, we couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it or missing from it or if it was possibly expired. The French toast looked amazing but they had so much dry cinnamon and brown sugar put on top them, that’s all you could taste and you had a mouth full of gritty bites which wasn’t pleasant even with adding more syrup we couldn't eat it. We tried to bring some of these things to our servers attn we were told “that’s how its all is made and it should be fine, that’s normal” our server never came back to refill our coffee or to ask if we wanted more water even after we put our mugs and empty glasses to the end of the table. When we decide we were done, we kept waiting for our server to bring the check, when we finally got the server to come back we were told to go pay at the front. At the register, they don’t show you your bill just said your total is & asked for payment, when I questioned the bill because it was definitely higher than it should have been(by at least $10)., I was told it’s correct. So I guess the prices on the menu are not the current prices so beware. And we found out the hard way, you can add a single slice of French toast to any meal HOWEVER a single slice of French toast is $5.24!!! YES $5.24 plus tax the manager said when I questioned her about it a 2nd time.
Excellent, family-style, family owned and operated restaurant, serving up delicious, heaping portions of great homemade food at a great price. Whether you're hungry for breakfast, lunch or dinner, when in Flatwoods, WV, this place should be on your radar. Stop in for the food, stay to bask in the laid back atmosphere and company. Enjoy!
Lloyd’s provided us with a delicious lunch. The vegetable soup with cornbread and a chef’s salad were fresh and very filling. Portions are generous!! There was one waitress and hostess assisting her they were very friendly, especially since there were many customers. So very thankful that this staff decided to work. Thanks Lloyd’s your food and service are top notch!!!
