I recently stopped by The Custard Stand in Flatwoods, WV, and it did not disappoint! I had heard great things about their hot dogs, and their famous Custard Stand Hot Dog Chili really lives up to the hype. It added just the right amount of flavor to their classic chili slaw dog. The casual roadside vibe made it the perfect spot for a quick meal during my travels.

So many flavors!! Apparently you can ask for samples which would’ve been awesome to know beforehand, and would have been kind of the staff to offer when I asked what the pistachio nut tasted like. But they weren’t very helpful at all. The girl at the counter barely spoke. Typical high schoolers too shy to talk or maybe just don’t care. Idk. Kind of disappointing experience as far as service.

Other than that—pretty good custard. Great flavors and texture...

Good ice cream selection for a competitive price. I will definitely come back.

It is a little hard to figure out what are you supposed to go to the outside window or come in but not really a big deal.
