Ate there this morning at around 0930 hrs, 14November2024, not knowing what to expect. The one waitress on deck had just conquered the first wave of diners that had apparently just departed prior to our arrival. All by herself, I might add. She was cheerful and efficient, along with having an outstanding positive attitude! She, even, drew smiley faces on my two boy’s OJ cups : ) . Our food arrived in a timely and efficient manner; hot and fresh. The atmosphere was family oriented, which my wife and I truly appreciated. Food was off the chain delicious. All and all, a refreshing dining experience made even better by the server’s great attitude. We will be back.

We walked in about 10:30 this morning and it was cold, and we sat down. We had a 1yr old kid, me and my mother. A rude lady was cleaning the tables and seen us sit down (its self seated) and didn’t bother to bring us menus or ask for drinks. We was sitting there for 5 minutes and she still ignored us and kept cleaning tables. We HAD to ask for menus and she laughed and went to grab them. So we got up and left. I looked back at her and told her Nevermind and to continue to clean her tables. She laughed and went back to doing so.
What she could’ve done was come to do her job and atleast get us drinks. Or to let someone know in the back to come and assist us. They wasn’t even busy. Maybe two tables that already had their food.

While traveling we are always looking for a local dinner to try out. This stop in West Virginia turned out to be a good spot to get some good food. The open face roast beef was very good. It was a big portion too My wife had a cheeseburger and tater tots. She said it was a good burger. I will add that this place was very busy when we stopped in. The place like many places seemed short staffed. The lady that waited on us did a good job.. We do hope to stop by here again when traveling this way.

The food was horrible. You can tell the eggs was poured from a container. The wait time for a few eggs and bacon was awful. We have waited less time on steak diners. And the service was terrible. I was actually told. I'll try to get you a drink refill. And there was barely anyone there.

Restaurant chains are there for a reason. And the reason is good. I get it. In a different town or state and don't have time to try something new you know exactly what you're gonna get from a chain. Good, bad, or usually indifferent. But if you're passing through, or even a local, give the Waffle Hut a chance. Kind of tucked away with no large "HERE WE ARE" sign it's easy to miss. But you'll be missing out. Just passing through on a motorcycle ride through some WV back roads I happened upon the Waffle Hut. I was given a menu with a lot of options for such a small place. I went with the biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs over medium. The service was wonderful, the biscuits, light and fluffy, were smothered under delicious thick peppered gravy, and eggs cooked to perfection. And the time was well past breakfast hours. I'm not around the Flatwoods area a lot but then next time I am I will be stopping in again to try something else off the menu. I was told their waffles are wonderful. Maybe I'll give them a taste. But I am a sucker for a good double bacon cheeseburger. Decisions decisions. And if the rest of the menu is as good as their biscuits and gravy? Hmm, I just may have to find myself back there quicker than I thought I would.

I delightful local restaurant, good food, good service and pleasant atmosphere. Have visited at both breakfast and lunch and both were well served. Very reasonable costs, ample servings. Right off Flatswoods WV exit off I79. Worth a try....
The food was amazing. Real homestyle food at a great price. The waitresses were very attentive and polite, even remembering to wish my daughter a happy birthday. Although the food and service were awesome, the place could use a good cleaning. Despite that, I'll still be going back.

The worst service waited 10 minutes just to get menus we ordered BLT and Club Sandwiches waited 45 minutes got up and left because still had not gotten out food
