I recently visited DiCarlo's Pizza, eager to try the Ohio Valley's well-known pizza style, but unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfying. Despite its reputation, DiCarlo's did not live up to the hype.

The first thing that threw me off was the way they prepare their pizza. The crust and sauce are baked first, and then cold cheese and toppings are added afterward. While I understand this is their signature style, it left me disappointed. The cheese was barely melted, and the toppings seemed like an afterthought. The combination of hot crust and cool toppings just didn't work for me—it felt unfinished and lacked the cohesion you expect from a good pizza.

The crust, which some people rave about, was another letdown. It was overly crispy and dry, almost like eating a cracker rather than a proper pizza crust. There was no softness or chewiness to balance it out, making each bite a bit of a chore to get through. The sauce was bland and didn't add much to the overall flavor profile.

Sign says open to 8:30 or 9:00pm... got ran off the property like a couple of bums at 8:02pm... she said no more orders...she done! Tons of people standing there...I guess they don't want our money or business ever.... terrible...just terrible especially after driving up there just for pizza....no more

tried it for the first time. I wasn't a fan at all ordered a tray and threw it away. the sauce is a paste that truly just didn't taste right. I love pizza and just couldn't stomach it. I'm a fan of Fabio and vocellis so far for the area.

I’ve grown up eating Dicarlos pizza. I just can’t understand why it’s changing so much. First it was very little cheese and pepperonis. Now it’s barely warm and feels like it came out of the fridge. I’ve never ever been so disappointed with this pizza. I hope you guys get it together. Highlands Dicarlos 6/28/24

The workers are like family. Everyone is nice and makes you feel good all over.

Parking: This is something that means alot to me. Easy and convenient.

Would have loved to try it being out of town. Walked by and the door was locked at 6:36PM on a Tuesday. The girl at the counter inside yelled "WERE CLOSED!" not sure what was going on but I guess maybe they had a kitchen problem or lack of staffing. Maybe next time. And yes it was today May 21st.

Downtown Wheeling DiCarlos. Lady working yelling at employees. No matter what they say she’s a n attack mode. Very uncomfortable here. I feel sorry for these employees, she is sheer misery.

We ordered pizza for a birthday party May 1. The sale totaled 52.00. The pizza was burned and the crust was so hard no one could eat it. We called the manager who said there was NOTHING he would do....you must bring it back for him to see. (We live about 25 min. away!) He then hung up on me. That is the very last time we patronize DiCarlo's. There are many pizza shops to choose from!
