Food was excellent, restaurant was very chilly and recorded music was loud. Our major complaint was that, even though the restaurant was not crowded, we had to wait a full hour for our food to be brought out and two people were not given their full order. Food was definitely good, but I doubt any of us will be returning, at least not soon.

Excellent service, the owner was extremely friendly and down to earth. I took my husband for his birthday. We had the clams, house salad grilled shrimp , and grilled white fish. The house ranch was really good and the food was prepared in a timely manner. The food was great, but the fish was a little bland. We want to go back and try different food and stay for one of their music shows. Hushpuppies should be added as a side with honey butter they were really good!Kid-friendliness: Open and spacious for kids.Wheelchair accessibility: Had a ramp to go amp

Be aware: some food items will cost you more than is stated on the menu. I had their special “Captains Burger” which is currently $2 off every Tuesday. The menu has a generous list of toppings you can choose for your $13.99 burger. I chose from the listed toppings, but when the bill arrived I was charged an extra $2 for choosing bacon (bacon was one of the items listed that came with the burger)! I don’t like being surprised by extra charges that aren’t on the menu! The waitress was nice but only offered an apology for the unadvertised extra charge. I was definitely not a happy customer!

On the banks of the Ohio River. The theme is "Castaway!" Live music on Saturdays! Big screen sports! Great atmosphere and great staff. The dishes are tip top and fresh. Full bar! We tried the fried clams and NY strip steak. Lava cake for dessert! Had a lovely time!

I would recommend here over the vast amount of chain restaurants in the area.We had a NY strip and blackened salmon and blackened shrimp on a skewer. The shrimp was the best I ever had! The salmon were some of the best I have had in a long time! It was slightly under cooked to me, I look forward to the thinner side to have some crispyness to it. But it was still really great and highly recommended as it was.The NY Strip appears to be cooked to temp, and it was great (even though I like mine medium rare, it was good at the ordered temp of medium well)! The one real negative I have is that the roasted redskinned potatoes were significantly undercooked. I still ate them because I absolutely try not to be wasteful.

I never leave reviews like this but my god… the tea was so bad it was undrinkable along with the tap water, then the oysters come… just straight up pre breaded frozen oysters.. unfortunately that was the only thing I could eat, I order the flounder dish comes with rice and one side, I got mashed potatoes as my side… Instant mashed potatoes with no flavor at all not even butter, the rice under the flounder no flavor at all water logged rice, the flounder, maybe 3 oz as thin as a piece of bologna again with no flavor at all, the place has so much potential if they would just up there food standards. The food is literally bland and over priced, depressing

Absolutely loved everything about this place. The ambiance, staff, service and food were outstanding. If you haven't tried it you must. We all had the asiago flounder which was truly amazing and the chocolate martini and loaded arnold palmer were delicious. The staff were all so friendly, prompt and professional. One of my new favorite places to dine and drink. Definitely a must in the mid ohio valley. Thank you Lost Anchor!

I'll admit I had read some not so flattering reviews from other SM sites, but a trusted friend recommended it, so we decided to take a chance. SO HAPPY we did! THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! We ordered fried clams and the fish and chip special. Huge portions and everything was hot, well-prepared, and nicely presented. We were super impressed with the house-made coleslaw, cocktail sauce and tartar sauce. Service was quick and super friendly. We ended up over tipping a bit because 20% of the reasonable menu prices just wasn't enough compensation for the level of service we enjoyed. The place is huge inside and decorated like a fun cross between a beach house, a tiki bar, and a sea shanty. Very clean. Comfortable booths. Cute decor. Even had a volleyball (Willllsoooooonn!)We visited around 8:30 pm on a Friday night and there was no one else at a table. A few folks at the bar. Their kitchen is small, so I could see there being a longer wait if they were at seating capacity, but it really worked out great for us! We can't wait to go back and try out more dishes!Overall, I'd highly recommend The Lost Anchor. We paid $200 for a "fancy" dinner in Marietta last week and it wasn't even HALF as good as this dinner at less than a quarter of the price. Hope you have as good of an experience as we did!
