The Fairview Diner is probably my father in law’s favorite place to eat. Depending on how many appointments at the VA Hospital, depends on how many times we eat there.
Today was the lunch hour meal. Crowd was down a little so we went straight to a booth to set. Our server got our drinks within a couple of minutes. Immediately she asked for our orders. My father in law had a full sized Beef Boat. My wife had a Hamburger with all the fixin’s plus Onion Rings. I had the Dragon Slayer Burger as is with Battered Fries.
All meals were served in roughly 12-15 minutes. Everything was hot, looked great and tasted wonderful.
Our server checked on us multiple times while we ate and talked. A good eating experience.
For those of you traveling on WV Route 50, Smithburg is between Ellenboro and Clarksburg, WV. It’s worth the stop.

Country restaurant with familiar offerings. Pleasant staff. I don't have a lot to say about the food as I have not been there often. About average for this type of restaurant. Convenient location with plenty of parking. Easy off and on for US 50 between Clarksburg and Parkersburg.

Handy stop on rt 50. Good food, nice staff. Not too busy. Parking easy. Quick on and off rt 50.
Service was really slow. We ordered a pizza to go. It went misses. No one knew what happened to it.
Was disappointed with service and food.
