Busy Saturday night. We had a group of 15. The staff handled it without a problem. Kind and courteous.

I love generations! They have such good food and such nice staff! However this morning my friend and I went to gens for breakfast after completing our 5th final of the week. The waitress seemed a little off but once we ordered, she judged how much food we had gotten (I voiced that I was taking part of mine home for a study snack) then when she asked if we had wanted boxes and we said yes, she replied back with “well I figured” which is usually not upsetting to me but she had been awkward the whole time leading up. We also got our checks 3 bites into our food. I have been to gens muiltple times and I love it everytime. It’s peaceful, the staff is sweet and the food is great. This one time just stood out to us since it was just 9:30 in the morning so her shift should have just started. She seemed to be nicer after we paid and (tipped 20% still) 🫠

I only ate their once. And it was awful. Poor service will never go back .
Definitely worth passing up the usual chain restaurants at the I-70 exits and taking a couple of minutes to get to Generations. Extensive menu with many gluten-free choices. We enjoyed the French onion soup and traditional pierogies (not GF) and the taco salad (GF). Coffee was great and was able to get a to-go cup to take some on the road. Owner was on premises checking up on diners' experiences.

bought the ribs that were supposed to come with bbq sauce but they didnt give me any at all so i’m stuck with plain expensive ribs, the molten lava cake isn’t even actually a lava cake (zero chocolate in the middle) just a cake with a weird gross texture.

I ordered the Deck Salad with grilled chicken. Don't expect to eat the whole thing, it is huge. Loved it! It had blackberries as big as my thumb, strawberries and blue berries. And, of course, it had dried cranberries, pecans and feta cheese. I would order it again. I wish they would bring back the Reuben dog. It also was delicious.
Excellent food selection with plenty of indoor seating and (partly) covered outdoor deck seating. Occasional live music on outdoor stage. Friendly/courteous staff.

Our first time here... we got perogies and wings. The drinks were imaginative and delicious. The food was great, the sauces amazing!

Walking into Generations Pub felt less like entering a restaurant and more like stepping through a wormhole into a parallel universe — one where time doesn’t move, food has no flavor, and customer service is just a myth whispered about by drunken ghosts.
The air was thick with the scent of stale beer, old fryer oil, and lost dreams. The floor had a glue-like stick to it, as if the very building itself was trying to hold me hostage. Every table looked like it had survived a hundred regrettable decisions. I sat down, not because I wanted to — but because the chair wouldn’t let go of my jeans.
The server eventually wandered over, eyes glazed like they’d seen too much, or maybe not enough. She took my order like I was interrupting something important — like an existential crisis or a YouTube video. I ordered breakfast. What I got… was silence. Time stretched. The walls breathed. The ketchup bottle judged me.
When the food finally arrived — possibly by time travel, because it sure wasn’t cooked in this dimension — it looked like it had given up halfway through its own creation. The eggs tasted like sorrow. The bacon was a suggestion. The toast? An abstract concept.
Every bite brought me closer to a spiritual reckoning: Why am I here? Who hurt me? Why is the syrup cold and runny?
By the end of it all, I wasn’t full. I was just confused. Confused, mildly offended, and a little sticky.
Generations Pub isn’t a bar. It’s a fever dream. One you’ll regret remembering.

We had an amazing experience at Generations Restaurant and Pub! The perogies and boneless chicken wings were absolutely delicious — full of flavor and cooked perfectly. We also tried the liver and onions, which were done just right, and topped it off with one of their lava cake desserts — rich, warm, and decadent.
Our waitress was outstanding — not only was she attentive and friendly, but she also shared a quick history of the restaurant and gave us great recommendations for places to check out while we’re visiting Wheeling. Her hospitality truly made the experience memorable.
Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area!

Generations is a vibe and whenever we pass through West Virginia, you know the boys are stopping in.

Great vibe. Food was good and reasonably priced. Beer was cold. Our party would definitely return.
