Went for my wife and I anniversary. Our waiter (can't remember his name and he deserves a shout out so..sorry about that) and the working manager guy Collin gave us a glass of complementary champagne, the food was amazing, and the service was fantastic. Our waiter even took the time to say something nice to make our anniversary feel a little more special. Couldn't ask for a better anniversary dinner.
Went again this morning for breakfast before we left and Luis, our breakfast server, again crushed it. Bread stuffing waffles were just..muah..
And the prices honestly weren't all that bad for what we got. Gotta say, I'd recommend it if anyone is looking for a nice meal with a pretty nice view to boot.
Delicious food, good atmosphere, beautiful view, and good service.
Group of 18 stopped by for lunch! Great atmosphere for casual conversation and a great server as well! It was a great experience! Thank you!
I’ve loved everything I ate at the Skyline! Especially their breakfast.
I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful service and lovely buffet Saturday evening here! Well worth the trip with a well chosen delicious array of favorite specialties like endless Shrimp cocktail, delicious prime rib station, and so much more!
Do yourself a favor and go! Plus the amazing views!
The food is okay(ish). What really made the night was our server Gerson!! On point with everything, extremely friendly and it just made the atmosphere wonderful. I’m still sitting here by the window as I write this because I’m just so impressed with his professionalism and good energy.
We had a great time eating her for lunch one day and dinner the next. The tin can nachos were plenty for our party of 6. The tiramisu martini was delicious. The view was amazing. The service was great. Prices are as expected I feel. There are cheaper options and expensive ones. You can eat here with a family of 4 for a decent price.
Please do not go here as it was an absolute waste. I completely understand that resorts can be expensive, but I was somehow charged $27.00 for the green goddess salad with a side of chicken. The way it was all thrown together was ridiculous. The chicken was undercooked. I requested a side of chicken, which I then discover that they gave me 3 small little pieces of it and charged only God knows what for it. Then they threw arugula into a small tin pan and called it a day. They really skimmed the rest of the items that were in the salad. So basically I paid $27.00 for a small bowl of arugula with 3 tiny pieces of chicken.
Wonderful food! I love the atmosphere with the beautiful view of Oglebay! Delmer, our Delver, was fantastic 👏 👌
Great food and service in an absolutely beautiful historic lodge. Awesome views of oglebay park. Great Hreat local beer selection. Try the chili lime tajin wings!

We were staying in one of the cabins and we got take out. Six different families.
First of all the food took a ridiculously long time. To the point that when we got it, none of it was warm. Then they forgot something in literally every single order. Mostly the condiments we asked for. Literally every salad came without dressing and the wings came without ranch / blue cheese. Finally the quality of the food was complete garbage. It all looked and tasted like it was at least one day old. The fries tasted like they had been in a refrigerator over night. The pizza looked like it had been sitting on the counter all night long. The Cobb salad had barely any turkey on it, as well as only the fatty/stringy parts of the bacon.
We spent an average of $50 per family. It’s just crazy how every single order was messed up and tasted terrible.
The only bright spot might have been that the chicken wings were decent, but I’m not sure if they really were or it was just relative to the other food.
Service was great by all male waiters and servers. They must have the free version of MUZAK, because it’s saucy 70’s music. Our $14 appetizer was 3 slices of a green tomato, prosciutto baked to taste like bacon, and soft cheese. 3 slices. The Quinoa salad was ok, but it had at least 30 olives in it. Who can eat 30 olives?
I don’t know if the Skyline is under new management or what, but our experience was amazing (as opposed to what some others have written). We stayed at Oglebay over the holidays and ordered from Skyline several times and was not disappointed. We also attended the holiday buffet. All and all, the food is good and the servers were very kind and attentive. The pasta station is a nice touch and was done well. The pasta was al dente and the tomatoes and olive oil are all very good ingredients. The chicken parm was tender and cooked well. The view for dinner over the rolling hills was delightful. Ultimately, a solid choice, especially while staying at the resort!
They assured us prior to our visit that there would be gluten green options for our daughter with celiac and n both breakfast meals there was nothing she could eat. They were unable to resolve and could not accommodate her. Completely unacceptable.
Italian buffet is huge downgrade from previous years. We were offered a free meal for our experience and wont be going back because it was that much of a disappointment.
