Lovely little place packed with charm and coziness. Great crepe and coffee, with lots of options on menu. Street parking nearby

Cute and quirky. Has a fun vibe from the front door to the menu. We liked a lot off the menu, but the crepes were super delicious! We really enjoy coming here for a nice bite.

Interesting menu items. Nostalgic environment. Limited parking and seating. Food was good but unfortunately not hot and neither was the coffee. I'd give it another shot another day.

Great stop for kids and their grownups too. Highlights were crepes and Mac-n-rib sandwich but also good salad options too.

So cool the way the things around the restaurant are labeled so you can see where they came from- even the bathroom doors. Unique choices, good food and drinks. So cozy. Will definitely be back.

Unique little place in wheeling. Coffee was outstanding, food was even better. Definitely stop in and grab something to eat or drink.

7 of us had lunch on the patio today. Everything was perfect. Jaime our server gave us top notch service. Food and beverages were excellent as were the Earl Grey martinis. I love this place. Can’t wait to go back.

Very disappointing. Liked the atmosphere, that was about it. Out of several restaurants that were recommended we chose this one for lunch on a saturday. The waitress started off nice, younger girl, but after they took the order it took atleast 35-40 minutes for the food to come out, we had 0 update from waitress, didn't ask once if we needed a refill the entire time, we had to ask someone else for an update. The pulled pork sandwich was ice cold. Asked for side of sauce 2x and was never brought. There were like 3-4 waitresses and minimal tables as this place was small. I have no idea what the disconnect was, but it was bad. Waitress was super flustered after she knew i was pissed. Im not usually like this, but this place brought it out of me! If you want a tip you need to provide service! This place is way over priced as well. Go somewhere else. Someone said titos is a go to.

We all had a different crepe but sadly I didn’t get other pictures. I had the Blueberry Hill, and it was phenomenal. My friend really enjoyed the Lox crepe. We also enjoyed the focaccia and potato salad. The atmosphere is so adorable and unique. Even my 1 year old enjoyed this restaurant!

First impressions are worth gold. I was not a bit impressed with our first visit here. Prices are ... Pricey. I was charged $8.99 for a very small bit of over-cooked, dry chicken that was added to my salad. By the way ... my salad was not anything special for the price charged. I asked for a couple more slices of lemon for our waters ... this restaurant was out of lemons. There was no soups available -- we were told that they had not made any soup for 2 weeks. ??? They advertised a shrimp sandwich for the day's special; had a picture (that was not a bit clear/descriptive) on every table of this sandwich. Our server had no idea about this sandwich and had to go in the back and ask for details!! In addition, our table was not steady on the floor. It rattled back and forth!! Really -- where's the staff to ensure this does not happen??? Certainly someone noticed this when wiping the table top. I am disappointed that I wasted my hard-earned money on this place. I will not consider going back here. I will definitely look forward to going to all of the wonderful restaurants in and around Wheeling. There's a lot of competition out there Later Alligator ... there will not be a later visit back here from me!! In closing, please -- everyone reading my review ... please do not make the same mistake that I did and go here.

I’ve been visiting Later Alligator regularly since 2015! It’s been a love affair since the beginning.
My absolute favorite dish is the Deja Vu. They serve up some stellar hummus and veg. If you want a drink, give the Earl Grey Martini a shake. There’s also the Frozen Hot Chocolate for those days you want something cool and sweet. The kids love the Gator they find in their tomato soup. Hubs loved the French Dip. But my absolute favorite dish is the Deja Vu.
Staff is always kind and friendly. Every once in a while we have to wait a bit for service but it’s only because it’s a popular eatery! They have indoor and outdoor seating and regularly have shows or local artists there.
And then there’s the crepes… these crepes are the glue that holds the world (and sometimes friendships) together. Share a Nutella Berry Crepe with a friend. It will make your day.
Gator - keep doing what you’re doing. You’re rocking the town and we love you!
