Wait staff was rude no matter if you had a reservation or not. I understand it was the last day of the season, but come on...... there is nothing anywhere stating that someone would be with you shortly or anything. We walked into the resturant and was told we had to wait a minute. Someone did come up to us and show us to our table. No one smiled, joked, laughed or anything. We then watched all of the staff be rude to others coming in also. For such a nice place, the people were not nice, friendly or polite. It was a disappointment to be honest. We are chalking it up to an experience and walking away.

Want to get a takeout order? Nope. Inside is completely empty but insisting they’re booked solid this evening. At least 3’empty tables outside. What if folks don’t show? Can someone take that table? Staff says management told them no go. Wouldn’t try to eat here again if you paid me and, looking at the reviews, it seems I was right. Can’t believe they’re told to turn down business.

Visited , Thursday 8/7/25. Never complain, but the 2 salads ordered were Oh so , disappointing. Salads were not presented as advertised, with missing ingredients , and quality of ingredients were lacking. Our server did ask if we needed more salad dressing for both salads. The portion size was smaller than we anticipated. Hopefully, just an off night !

My mom and I had lunch at Garden Cafe yesterday. Lovely outdoor seating, and our server was very nice. We ordered the bagel breakfast sandwich and the daily quiche, and planned to split and share our lunches. The bagel sandwich was good, but the tiny sliver of quiche was burnt. I have never had such a small burnt slice of quiche - I almost couldn’t see it on the plate, which was filled with salad. The server stopped by to see if we needed anything, and I explained that the quiche wasn’t really edible. She noted that it did look much smaller than their normal serving size. She asked if I wanted another, which would take 15-20 minutes, and I said no, we were almost finished eating. She said she could wrap a new quiche to go, okay that’s fine. Well, the second sliver of quiche was also burnt and just as small. We saw other lunches that looked very good, so if you go to the cafe, do NOT order the quiche! Disappointed, and for the price, felt kind of ripped off.

We enjoyed several dishes including the flatbread of the day, BLT salad, crab cake, and shrimp & grits. I think the greens and veggies were picked fresh for our dishes - just perfect. The shrimp & grits is one of the best dishes I've had anywhere. The view from the terrace is lovely. Highly recommend this fantastic restaurant.

This location is ideal! It's a beautiful space on a lovely evening. Unfortunately, they were out of the entree I wanted, so I ordered the lettuce wraps. I believe they were way overpriced for what you got. They needed some kind of dipping sauce as they weren't very flavorful. Also, they were knife-and-fork wraps - they fell apart when you picked them up. Another person in my party ordered them and had the same opinion. I'll certainly be going back to the Bistro, but won't be ordering the lettuce wraps.

First time visit. Loved the Garden Bistro. Be sure to make a reservation because outside terrace is beautiful. Debbie, our server, was outstanding!! She graciously welcomed us and guided us through menu. Also shared pieces of history of the Oglebay property. All of dishes were just delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the homemade blueberry lemonade. All of us who dined loved our food, service and experience!
So glad this outdoor venue is back open for the summer. So beautiful and such amazing food.

Great food, great service and a ringside seat for a fabulous fireworks display as part of Oglebayfest! The wait staff was terrific, we loved the shrimp and grits, and the outdoor patio was perfect. So far, best restaurant at the Oglebay resort. We'll be back.

Was there for my birthday and had a great meal. Server even brought me a dessert with a candle on it. They were not very busy which probably helped with the great service we had. I would highly recommend this place. It has outdoor seating which would be the best for the views but is weather dependent.

Where to start! Every part of Oglebay is amazing. Stayed in 2 rooms and house keeping did professional work. Every place we went to was clean and very well managed. The only issue that was had there was some others staying and the staff handled it properly. All around recommend! So much to see and enjoy :)

I went there for a conference through work. Which is paid for by my employer. They asked me for a card to keep on file incase there were damages or I charged something to the room. I thought it was shady since they did not ask everyone in our group and it was being paid for by my employer but I did it. When it's time to check out they charged my debit card for the room instead of my employers card. So right there I lost 425.00 from my account and another girl with me had no money left in her checking account and she had a long drive home. So after some arguing they say they will credit our cards back but it will take a few days. I go back to my conference and the bank sends me a notification saying I have a double charge. I check my statement and they BILLED me again instead of refunding my money!!!! I talked to a Leslee and she said she did it on accident but she canceled it. So I had to contact my bank and file a complaint because I have still not received my money back. I feel like they literally stole 850.00 out of my account. They didn't seem very apologetic about it at all and I have bills to pay. I will take legal action if I have to. Everyone should watch their cards when they go there.
