I died and went to heaven trying The Gringos Tacos today for the first time for lunch! My 7 year old said that’s the only place she will ever eat a quesadilla, ever again 😆 I guess moms are no longer good enough for her 🤣 great place! Definitely recommend! 😊

These are the best tacos in the area! They’ve held their own everywhere I’ve gone, even when trying places known for having the ‘best tacos in town” elsewhere.

Have passed by this food a few times while visiting my dad. Finally got to stop and eat. Has a good variety on the menu. Food is cooked to order, so you may have to wait a bit. The meat on the tacos was juicy and good.

Absolutely love Gringo Tacos! The service is fast, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they care about what they do. The carne asada tacos were packed with flavor—perfectly seasoned and grilled—and the street corn was next-level delicious.

Let’s be clear—tacos are universally good. They’re my all-time favorite food. But not all tacos are created equal. Authentic Mexican street tacos speak a language I’m deeply fluent in, and I can tell you: mastery lies in restraint. Elevating a street taco with a gourmet sensibility—without tipping into excess or sloppiness—is a rare and admirable skill.

The Gringo doesn’t just attempt that balance; he perfects it. His take on the street taco is nothing short of artistry.

I’ve tasted everything on the menu, and I’ll say this with confidence—it’s absolutely worth your time, your money, and yes, even the wait.

If you’re grumbling about 20 minutes in line, that’s not a reflection of the food—it’s a reflection of your expectations. Greatness takes time. You want something fast? Get a funnel cake. You want something unforgettable? Wait for the taco.

The owner of the Gringo trucks and his crew are some of the hardest-working and kindest people in the Wheeling food scene. As a regular customer, I’ve watched them go above and beyond — even in total chaos like the Tacos & Tequila Festival, where every vendor was swamped. They don’t cut corners, they treat customers with respect, and their food is consistently phenomenal.

To the reviewer complaining about long lines and not getting water fast enough while pregnant at a Tequila Festival… I mean, really? That’s not on the taco truck. That’s a personal decision with consequences. Don’t throw blame at a small business working as fast as humanly possible in 90+ degree heat when you chose to wait in a food truck line instead of taking care of your own well-being.

Be real: it was a festival with over 18,000 people. It was hot. It was packed. Everyone was overwhelmed. But the food always slaps, the team handles each request with grace and care, and Gringo makes each festival worthwhile for attendees with their service alone. I’ll keep coming back.

The line was long, the crowd was a mess, and a few people definitely lost their cool, but the tacos were good.

Seems like the venue did not have enough food trucks (only like 10 actual food trucks) for the 10k+ people who showed up, but this truck showed up to the packed concert and still managed to keep things moving and serve solid food. It wasn’t the fastest situation, but considering the chaos, the staff held it together and stayed professional. The food was hot, fresh, and hit exactly how it needed to after standing around for a while.
