Interesting place. I didn't stay there. I was just there for food and some drinks. When I was there a new management team was taking over. My bartender was particularly interesting. I would say she was rude but somehow sweet at the same time. Either way she was quick and the burger I had was good. I was there a few times since it is the only restaurant in Baggs. Everything I had was good. Cell service is limited in the area so their wi-fi was a blessing.

Hunting in CO and staying in Baggs. The service at the bar is great AND the food is really good. First time I have ever had chicken fried steak medium. You sacrifice tenderness for flavor...and the flavor wins! Love a chicken fried steak, but always had them well done, but it is never the best cut of steak, so why sacrifice flavor for a little bit of tenderness when it is never really that tender?
This one was really good!

Upon trying to check in, the bartender performs double duty. Well, she was obviously busy. Which is okay. But upon acknowledgement of my presence, waiting to check in after a long day, she kept taking new drink orders that arrived AFTER I was already waiting.
The next day, I tried to get some drip coffee. The charge was over $3! Plain drip coffee. Then the woman secretly added a $2 tip, simply for pouring drip coffee into my own mug. I said no, take it back, I don't want a $5+ drip coffee. She said she didn't charge me. But she did. Unethical horrible place.
Also, the rooms. Everything was half done, broken, smelly or loud. The hardest and cheapest beds I've ever slept in with worn out flat pillows and the thinnest blankets that just exist. Avoid this place at all costs.
Rooms: Bad.
Food and drinks: Overcharged, watch your receipt.

Definitely the best place to start the WYBDR. Or just passing through like me, friendly, accommodating, great food, quiet, will definitely be returning on my journeys. Thank you for everything during my weekend stay.
Rooms: Have a streaming account for Roku TVs
Food and drinks: Plenty of both

The Cowboy Inn in Baggs, Wyoming is a gym in a beautiful little town!

Great place to start BDR. Breakfast was awesome.

A little pricey for the out dated rooms. Had to unplug the mini fridge because it was so loud.
Food & drinks: Went to the cafe and they had no wait staff. They cooked my burrito wrong and took my coffee cup to refill and never brought it back. It took an hour to order, make my food, and pay.

Review: The Cowboy Inn in Baggs, Wyoming provided a wonderful experience during my stay. The owners and managers were incredibly friendly, making me feel right at home. The burgers served in the restaurant were absolutely delicious. The room was spotlessly clean, with vinyl wood floors and a comfortable bed.
Some pros of the Cowboy Inn include its cleanliness, great food options, and the convenience of having a fridge and microwave in the room. However, one improvement could be adding a rug at the entrance to help keep the room cleaner for the hardworking staff. Additionally, the WiFi in the room (for Verizon users) was not the best, but the owners are actively working with the internet/cable company to resolve this issue. On a positive note, the WiFi in the restaurant was very fast.
Overall, I highly recommend a stay at the Cowboy Inn for a pleasant and welcoming experience in Baggs, Wyoming

Staff was busy at the bar. Eventually, we were assisted by check-in and given a room in the back. We were the only occupants in that building next to a broken down car and old tires. As a minority, I couldn’t help but think maybe there was some prejudice. Lady at the front desk stated she didn’t know why “they” put us back there. She assured me that if the second key she gave me didn’t work, she (not they) could put me in the main building. The beds (not room) were clean yet, one was HARD - we dealt with it for a night. Also, 2 of the lights were out and you can’t regulate the old broken down AC unit on the wall (see pic) it’s either plugged in and gets cold or unplugged. The wall thermostat doesn’t work either. There was hair in shower like it wasn’t cleaned. TV worked fine and there’s a microwave and fridge that we had to plug in. I got texts that said respond for any requests. I asked about WiFi code - no response.Since place is run-down and outdated, I didn’t bother with the restaurant or bar. We ate snacks from the car for dinner. We had an eerie feeling and were afraid being 2 black females in the middle of nowhere. We decided not to draw any attention and checked out after sunrise. This was one of 2 places to stay on our way to Yellowstone which is a 12 hour drive coming from Cortez, CO. Next time, despite being tired I’ll keep driving.Update: Owner contacted me about this review with a sincere apology for my experience. Motel is in the process of being renovated. He invited me to return when I’m back in the area. He also encouraged me to have a meal in the newly remodeled restaurant. Since he showed concern and good customer service, I plan to return.
