Fire Rock has always been our favorite place to go for date night. The menu has a great variety of options that will accommodate a more expensive night or a budget night. The staff are excellent and the atmosphere is calm and friendly. Our favorites are the Jalapeño Smash Burger with a side of the Wyoming whiskey sauce, and for me the Potato soup with some of the complimentary bread.

Food and service were great! Didn’t rate the atmosphere as high because the music is a little too loud. Makes it hard to have a conversation! (We weren’t seated in the bar area.) We’ve been here numerous times and the music has been this way no matter where we’ve been seated.

We are food snobs and we ate here two nights in a row on our vacation with literally nothing but good things to say. Waiters are smart, hostess Seats people like his life depends on it and the food blows your mind.

I called ahead and was put in their “call ahead” list. We showed up at the time I had told them and the manager thanked me for using the call ahead service and said we’d be “moved up the list to be seated next.” At least 12 parties (including many that had come after us) got seated before us. After 30 minutes of waiting, thinking we’d be “next” cuz that’s what he said, we asked how much longer. We saw our name on the list still and were told they were waiting for a specific table to seat the 3 of us. Waited another 15 minutes and I asked the manager why he said we’d be seated “next” if we have seen at least 15 other parties at this point in time seated before us? He said “oh you”re Jackson party of 4 correct? You’re next.” I said no that’s not me. I told him the name it was under and saw that the name was crossed out! He said “oh, I don’t know how that happened but we’ll get you next!” 45 minutes after our “call ahead” time, we were FINALLY seated. Don’t be dishonest and say we’d be moved up the list and be seated “next” just to keep your customers waiting and not going somewhere else ! If we would have known it would have taken that long we would have been able to decide if we were staying or going somewhere else! Or if you won’t honor the call ahead, don’t offer it! The waitress was good and the food was good but very disappointed in their “call ahead” seating system!

We were in this place for 3 hours! Between waiting for a table, waiting for food, and waiting for the check. Told it would be a 25 minute wait, almost an hour later we were seated. An hour and a half to get waited on and the food to come out. My steak was luke warm and so thin they just threw it on th plate filled over itself. They forgot my side. To their credit they took some off the bill without me asking, but the whole meal should’ve been comped.

This steakhouse has very nice ambience and our waiter was pleasant. My husband and I ordered a ribeye with the bone in, baked potatoes, mushrooms and a garden salad. We enjoyed most everything except the steak which we ordered medium rare. The steak had an odd taste which we think may have been marinated with liquid smoke. The steak was tough not melt in your mouth texture. There were large pieces of grizzle. It was disappointing and we would not return again.
