On Saturday morning, January 24, 2026, my dad and I stopped at the Down Home Diner in Cheyenne for breakfast and were there from about 8 to 9 AM. My dad is a regular here, and it showed. We have been living on the island of Maui for 19 years. One of the things we missed is truck stop Cafes. This place has excellent food. The portions are very large and shareable if need be. It is super affordable and the staff are the nicest people. Great customer service. Can't wait to go back.
We had a great experience at the Down Home Diner. I had the fish dinner with a baked potato, and it was excellent—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My wife ordered the chili cheeseburger; it might not have been the prettiest plate, but it was absolutely fantastic. The service was outstanding—very attentive and always checking to see if we needed refills on drinks or coffee.
