I came from out of town to film a wedding and decided to go here on a whim. I don’t normally do restaurant reviews but this one deserved. They MAKE their pasta. If that’s not enough of a sign that the food here will be good, I don’t know what is. I was blown away by the food quality.

My Mother & I stayed at The Longhorn Ranch Resort Lodge in Dubois Wy . The lady in the office highly recommended The lone buffalo for our supper.
So we went . We both ordered a $45 dollar Ribeye. Both were so over cooked , that we eat them . We ordered medium well , but they were well done . It wasn’t the waitresses fault . She did give some options , a 10 percent discount, or to have them recook another steak .
By the time we got the first steak , it took a while to get it & we didn’t want to wait for another one .
The rest of the meal would have been cold .
We were not impressed with our experience and would definitely not go back .
They do have a lot of good reviews , but i don’t know how .

Passing thru on an RV trip… went downtown DuBois and found this little gem while looking for another place. Short wait and so glad we waited! 4 of us…. 3 pasta dishes, one steak. All good! Healthy sized portions. Several servers taking care of us. Just a great little place!
My family and I along with another family experienced racism in this restaurant. We had our dinner there on Aug. 12, 2025. We were seated and orders were taken around 7:30 pm, ahead of 5 other groups. However, our foods were served the very last, at around 8:45pm, after the other five groups (who happened to be all caucasians) were served. Our group included four children. We were tourists driving by this town on our way to our hotel 3.5 hrs away. We are the only people of color in that restaurant on that day. I keep looking at the servers when they started serving foods to the other guests after us, but none of them bother to update us on our orders. None of them check on us at all. When they finally decided to serve us the food, I refused to eat it. Only then did the waitress bother to ask if we were upset. We went ahead and paid for the food, but I strongly advise people to not eat here again.

10/10. Short wait for a table (we didn’t book), fantastic food and excellent service. We had salads, lasagne and a blueberry cobbler, which was the best dessert of our holiday. No photos to share as the food was gobbled up too quickly!

The bison burger was fantastic. One of the best I've had in a while. Not too happy with the 2% credit card charge but considering how few options there are around here and how good the burger was, I'd definitely go back.

Let me tell you… if you want true Wyoming hospitality, this is the place for you. Not only is the establishment clean and welcoming, not only is the food absolutely amazing, not only is the service friendly and prompt, but the humanity of this staff is out of this world.
We are from Louisiana and my husband left his wallet behind on a Saturday evening. We were staying in Jackson and happen to fly out on a Monday. This restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays. When we realized what happened, I messaged the restaurant on here to explain our situation and they immediately responded with a number to contact to make arrangements to get the wallet back.
My mind is blown how amazing Lone Buffalo is in all aspects. I want to thank you all for an amazing experience and for also being so kind in a situation that was completely our fault. God Bless.
