We love Bon Rico’s. The service and food has always been fantastic. Jess has always been as accommodating as he can based on the size of his restaurant. Love it when people whine about this place, it frees up tables for us. Our favorite steak house. Kudos to Jess and his team.

This manager/Owner is a rude man. He made a mistake on dates but blamed me. He did not come talk to me like a responsible owner! Instead he screamed at me from across the dinning room. I do not recommend this restaurant at ALL!!! We are keeping the wrong restaurant in business and deserve to be treated respect.

Not sure where to start with this review. The restaurant is quiet, relaxed, and low-key. Our server was great. She had a case of laryngitis but was fun and attentive. I liked the pickled vegetable tray instead of bread before our meal. This isn’t a place you go for a quick meal. The food took time to prepare. It is expensive. However, the steak looked and smelled amazing. I actually ordered the fried halibut pictured below . Basically fish sticks however they tasted fine. My wife ordered the fried chicken. Here is where it went south. The chicken was fried in a delicious batter. It was fresh. unfortunately when she got to the end, she discovered a long black hair that happened to get fried with the chicken. That pretty much ruined the experience for us . We did not pay for the chicken. Our server was very apologetic. However, the person who took our check was brusk and irritated. So I don’t know if we will ever go back. However, if you want an amazing thick steak in Evanston, this is probably the place to go, Just don’t order the fried chicken with a side of black hair.
Fantastic food and service. We got the ribeye and chicken - both were delightful. The meal starts with a veggie plate, French onion soup, a trio of fresh baked bread with whipped butter, salad, and an outstanding portion of ribeye, and a very flavorful and juicy chicken. Very reasonably priced. I recommend reservations, as it is a very popular dining option.

I was training in Evanston 10 years ago and my husband surprised me for our anniversary and we ate Bon Rico's . We were so impressed 11 years later we were traveling home and decided to come back for our 21 wedding anniversary and this place is still amazing. I tell everyone if you are in Evanston eat here
