The Hitching Post

Food was decent. I had a quick breakfast here on the way back from Cheyenne. Typical breakfast food but people were amicable and fun atmosphere.

Took over an hour to get our food. One of our sandwiches had a hair in it. The gravy was cold. Didn’t get silverware or kids menus until after our food arrived.

Well worth a small detour
Food is amazing with fresh salad bar and soup bar... I mean yummy corn chowder and beef stroganoff the way it should be made in a nice relaxed atmosphere
Just honest good home cooking.

Soup wasn’t hot, luke warm. Same with the Parmesan Chicken, spaghetti was barely warm.

My family and I used to love going here all the time, and we get prices on everything are going up, but it's kinda ridiculous to pay that much when the food quality and service isn't what it used to be. We had to send back a burger because we didn't get what we ordered and were still charged extra when the bacon and chipotle mayo still weren't there. We didn't know we were still charged until after the server ran our card, we thought the amount was too high and asked for a receipt. She had either lied or misread and told us the bacon and mayo weren't on there when she brought the burger back. After we saw we were still charged we were too upset and didn't want to accidentally lose our temper over something that should have been fixed before. People shouldn't have to feel like they are toeing the line of being a Karen to get what they ordered.

We cannot understand the good other reviews.

The food was okay, but nothing special. 2 hours later we all get some stomach issues.

The service was slowly an we see tables, that was not cleaned for more than a hour. Also the food need very long to arrive although the restaurant was nearly empty.

Didn‘t see any bill, when we asked to pay and had to pay randomly.

It is a 1 and done for me. Started off with a very long wait. One in our party went to tge restroom and saw tge waitress very upset and crying. Lady that sat us finally was convinced to take our order. Got the hot beef sandwich, looked like a pile of brown...you know! Gravy had so much salt and so thick it could've been used as plaster. Friend got chicken parm and the sauce was simply canned tomato. Zero seasonings. No reason to return.

We got off the highway looking for breakfast and stumbled upon the Hitching Post. What luck! Great service, great food, great coffee. I highly recommend this place.
