Absolutely EPIC food and the staff were so lovely! We had such an enjoyable experience at Big Hole BBQ and would recommend it to anyone - including vegetarians of which I am (we went because hubs loves BBQ and he such was in heaven at Big Hole BBQ). This meal is one of the 2 stand out meals from our 9 week trip to the USA!

Just average. The chicken wings with the dry rub were the highlight. The pulled pork and brisket were extremely dry and needed a lot of sauce added to the sandwiches. I would definitely skip the baked beans, very strong on the vinegar.

I was sorely disappointed with the food at this establishment. We had ordered the fried pickles to share, it had too much batter and too much time in the oil. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich believing that it would be delicious since this is a BBQ restaurant, but no, instead I was given a bun with pork that was boiled in water. One of the people I was with ordered a cheese burger, after eating she said “how do you RUIN a cheese burger?” And the other person with us order a Philly cheese steak and after one bite she needed bbq sauce to make it taste tolerable. We only ate half of our meal. After a long day of hiking my group and I were famished and we would have eaten anything and thought it was the best food ever, but what they served was revolting. Honestly I think at this point only puking will satisfy my hunger.

Some great BBQ and we are from the south! This is a little outside of the main square but totally worth the walk! It was delicious!!! My daughter got the pulled pork sandwich and I got the beet salad… both five star! The service was so quick and super friendly staff and atmosphere! If we ever come through JH again we would eat here!

I recently visited Big Hole BBQ in Jackson, and unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. The experience was quite underwhelming, primarily due to the quality of the food.
Starting with the meat, it was disappointingly dry and bland, lacking the smoky flavor and tenderness you hope for in BBQ. I was really looking forward to enjoying flavorful, juicy cuts, but that was not the case.
The sides were equally underwhelming; they felt rushed and didn’t complement the main dishes well. It's frustrating when sides fail to elevate a meal, and here, they fell flat.
Overall, I left feeling unsatisfied and unlikely to return. I truly hoped for a better dining experience. If you’re in the mood for BBQ, I’d recommend exploring other options.

We had a great experience here. We went in around 12:30 on a Sunday afternoon. We sat ourselves and were immediately served. There is no kids menu but they have options for kids. We got the Cuban, pork sliders, chicken tenders, and a cup of macaroni. My pork sliders were delicious! Highly recommend. This was one of our more affordable meals in Jackson so we will definitely be back.
