If you ever have the chance to visit Encampment/Riverside Wyoming, it is a place you will fall in Love with. The Bear Trap Cafe is a landmark there. My wife worked there in the summer of 1982, so it has been around a good long while. The food and atmosphere are both excellent! We ordered a pizza the last time we were there and it was honestly one of the best we've ever had! No lie! Visit a nostalgic piece of Wyoming History, Encampment/Riverside Wyoming, and enjoy the Bear...
My husband & I were told about this place while being helped on the side of the road by an HP. After we dropped off our work trailer in Baggs, WY., we decided to take the scenic route back and stopped here in Encampment WY. Great place to eat if you're in the area.
If you are like me and a poorly cooked, meager burger leaves you ready to shoot out the chandelier with your Peacemaker stop in at the Bear Trap Cafe. What a nice surprise!
Their burgers are big, perfectly cooked and loaded with your choice of options from avocados to bacon. The Bear serves a good down to earth burger. Order a cleansing ale to go with, inhale both, then drive off with a big grin. We sure did. Well worth the drive.
