Lives up to the reviews. Coming back from a trip to see Yellowstone and grand Tetons from Denver and it was by far the best beer of all trip.

I’ve been stopping at breweries all the way from Maine to Washington, and nothing prepared me for the welcome I got at Square State Brewing. The moment I opened the door—before my foot even hit the floor—the whole bar erupted in cheers, applause, and a loud “THERE HE IS!” from every single person in the place, including the owners, Mike and Cassandra, who were busy pouring drinks behind the bar.

Now, I’m just a quiet traveler, not anyone famous, but they made me feel like I’d just won an award. As an introvert, it was almost overwhelming—but in the best way possible. I took a bow, everyone laughed, and a barstool was pulled up for me right away. People shifted over and welcomed me in like I’d been there for years. It was the kind of kindness and genuine human connection that’s rare these days.

I started with their Honey Blonde Ale—crisp, clean, with a touch of sweetness that didn’t overpower. From there I went with Moo Juice on Nitro, which was smooth and creamy with a great body. The amber ale was perfectly balanced, and their Prairie Parrot Pale Ale had a nice hop kick without being over the top. Every beer I tried was dialed in. Mike clearly has a solid grasp on a range of styles—nothing felt rushed or unrefined.

As a homebrewer, I asked if they ever trade beer, and sure enough, they do. I handed Mike one of my hazy IPAs, and without hesitation, he cracked it open and poured a taste for everyone at the bar. We talked brewing, shared stories, and just soaked in the kind of vibe you hope to find when you walk into any craft brewery.

The beers were great, but it’s the people that make this place unforgettable. Mike and Cassandra have built more than a brewery—they’ve built a community, and even if you’re just passing through, you’re part of it the second you walk in.

If you’re anywhere near Rock Springs, do yourself a favor and stop by Square State Brewing. Grab a pint, trade a story, and leave with a full heart. Cheers to Mike, Cassandra, and the incredible folks holding it down in Wyoming.

Came by to check them out while in town. Unfortunately, closed at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday (sign claims open until 8 p.m.). No sign on the door to explain why - I understand if there was an emergency, but driving all the way down here only to find it closed with no explanation is insulting. So maybe their beer is good (sadly, I'll never know), but they clearly have a lot to learn about business and customer service.

Was excited to try a court of beverages since the reviews were so good. Got ignored at the bar and the bartender helped another person with their second drink before me so I walked out.

This brewery is pretty awesome. One of my favorite breweries in cowboy mormon territory. Very nerfed beers for a general Wyoming audience that has a lot of lightbeer drinkers. It's not a knock, it's never a bad thing to stay in your lane and know your audience. They do have 1 or 2 stronger / bolder beers on tap if your are a beer thrill seeker. I would bet more than half of the people that walk into this brewery drink as much light domestic beer as anything else and reach for a Blue Moon only when they're "feeling fancy" and yet they would like 9 out of 12 of the beers on tap. Fantastic atmosphere, great service, average prices, and overall very good (although pretty Disney) beers.
