This place used to be my favorite! I came back to delete my 5 star review. The cowboy has gone down hill drastically. The service is fantastic and the place looks the same, but ordering an 18$ burger that is precooked from Sysco and microwaved is atrocious. Neither of us could even finish it. It was shameful because ingredients used to matter.

The best Chicken Fried Steak in Wyoming. Whenever we travel to Dubois or Sheridan Wyoming we eat at Cowboy Cafe. The batter is perfect. The pie alamode is fabulous.

Food was average. Over medium eggs, barely cooked. Atmosphere was nice. Service was poor. We waited for our drinks and waited after ordering them. Just seemed disorganized. The kitchen and bathrooms? Grubby. Needs a good cleaning.

Service was fast! Had to wait a while to be seated but once you’re at the table the server was very attentive and respectful. Breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend for small group, duo or solo dinners.

Went and ate at this restaurant with my cousin. The service was great. Had a nice vibe to the place. Overall a good restaurant. My only complaint was with some of the food. My cousin ordered a breakfast burrito. It was good but I could tell that the tortilla was very low quality, and I am very picky when it comes to my tortilla's. The green chilli was pretty mid as well. Then the hash browns were very plain tasting with no seasoning. Other than that the omelet I ordered was very good 9/10 it was good sized as well. I have been here before and I just want to also mention that the pies here are very good and come with a wide selection. All in all, it is a good restaurant.
Great food, a bit expensive, but my burger was delicious enough to be worth it. Just can't afford to go often.

My wife and I ate at the Cowboy Cafe during our vacation in the Rapid City area. What a great decision that was.
We found the location doing a google search. The website sparked our interest, so we stopped in. As you walk through the front door you are met by a friendly, hometown feel. It was quiet and very welcoming.
Our server, Jeaneaha, was off the charts. Extremely friendly, engaging and full of splendid energy. She definitely was a big part of our wonderful experience.
My wife had an entree salad and I had the trout. The food was fantastic and the price was amazingly reasonable. I actually had to do a double take when I received the tab.
By the way, their pies, the best we have ever had. And I am no spring chicken! When we asked about the pies, Jeaneaha responded, are you ready. I thought it was an odd response until she listed nearly 20 choices!!! We had the mountain berry with ice cream! THE BEST EVER!
If you are driving through Sheridan WY, make sure you stop at the Cowboy Cafe! What a treat!
