So, at any other time, this rating would have been 5 stars. They have the best pies out there and go there often to buy them. I was visiting this establishment the other day and everything would have been amazing, except one thing. Buyer beware. My meal was inexpensive as it was only me. $14.83. I left a $3 tip. Over 20% which I thought fair. Apparently, my server thought otherwise because she decided to adjust my tip to $5. I will go back because it isn't the owner's fault but my suggestion is to leave cash for the tip or check to verify the correct tip amount.

Stopped for lunch. Was surprised by the menu that had way more interesting items than the average hamburger and blt sandwiches. I finally decided on the peach and burrata salad. It was delicious!!!! A bit more balsamic dressing might have been nice, but it was a lovely salad! I subtract a star because, though they were busy, service was a bit haphazard. I waited quite a bit to place my order, and though I had adked for iced tea when seated, had to ask two more times including after my salad came. Then when I was done and waiting for my pie, I told the server I was using the bathroom. When I came back my rable had been cleared! Another waitress was holding my purse! My tea was gone! But I took my pie to go, so...
Now, the pie... OMG! Good thing I don't live here or I'd be back daily for that! They had so many varieties I got 2 to go! Blueberry Rhubarb was awesome. The next day I had the blackberry apricot. Divine!!! And good crusts, too(from someone who does not like crusts often, high praise)!

So, small mishaps with service, but I still would highly recommend this spot!

Amazing food, wonderful staff! Definitely worth another visit.

Great breakfast! And great service even when super busy. They don't try to kick you out the door right away. Only wish they'd answer their phone during business hours. Tried purchasing one of their pies to no prevail.

Delicious food, great service, and affordable prices. The homemade pies were fantastic, too. I'm definitely going back soon!

Unwelcoming. Unfriendly. Borderline discriminatory.
Stopped in at Cowboy Cafe for lunch after driving nearly 3 hours to Sheridan for a couple VA appointments. We had a service dog with us, and as we entered the establishment an older waitress made eye contact, while finishing up another tables order. With a snap of her finger and a gesture she indicated where she wanted us to sit. When she brought over the menus she began the questions regarding the service dog. (Which mind you are perfectly acceptable and within legal rights, and we actually do not mind respectful questions regarding the legitimacy of the service dog)
She asked if the dog was in fact a service dog, (she had her vest with ID on it) and if we had papers. We indicated her information was on her vest and the waitress got down on the floor and maneuvered the dog to read the ID card. Her third question was “what services does this dog do” to which the veteran responded 2 of the main services his dog provides (stability, retrieval). The waitress looked up, stated “well I don’t know about that” and walked away.
I am appalled. Absolutely appalled.
She returned to see what we wanted to drink, and at that point I was too infuriated to decided. She left our table and luckily a younger, polite and friendly waitress came over.

I cannot speak more highly of this unpretentious treasure. Phenomenal ribeye cooked to perfection. Pork shank out of this world. Homemade desserts that tempt every aspect. Service fantastic!!
