We booked a room at the Sheridan Inn for the long Valentine's Day weekend and drove nearly four hours to get here. The day before leaving home, my wife suggested that we get a reservation at the Open Range. It was our 46th anniversary and we wanted something really special. While there weren't any reservations remaining, we were put on a waiting list. And we are so grateful to the couple who decided to cancel! From the moment we walked in the door, that evening was special. Our server treated us like family. The historical ambience was wonderful. The meal and beverages were marvelous. At this season of our lives, we have been to many places to celebrate. And without question, we enjoyed this one the most!
An excellent dining experience! I realized as we were sitting there that I am the fifth generation of my family to have enjoyed the services of The Sheridan Inn. Add my children and grandchildren makes seven generations. I would recommend it to anyone!
Food drinks and service all excellent! We had the burger and wild boar pasta...delicious! We highly recommend dinning here...it is always excellent and we love the setting in this beautiful historic spot.
Very lovely birthday dinner, excellent service and food was hot and fresh. Definitely loved getting a free dessert at the end, creme brulee was perfect. Will definitely be coming again :)
My short ribs were tough, my wife's meat (not on the menu) was good, both of our broccoli dishes were BURNT, Caesar salad excellent. The menu on line is not up to date so you might want to call first. We didn't have dessert or drinks. Overall, not the best experience.
The menu is very limited. Who serves mac and cheese with a $57.00 ribeye steak? No baked potatoes just fries which were to heavenly seasoned with cracked black pepper. Our granddaughter had the peanut butter and jelly. It was a crustable from a box with regular fries. They need to work on the menu. I had also ordered a Miss Kate salad but never got it.

Not sure what others are expecting but this experience was exceptional. Service, ambiance, and food were off the chart excellent.

Absolutely horrible service. Sat us down and never came back. Waiter disappeared, sat there for 30 min. , finally gave up. They tried some cheap shenanigans to try and apologize/justify it.. what a waste of time!!!

The place is awesome and the food was really good. Very limited options for food choices. So I expect everything to be great if you only have 10 or so main dishes. My ribeye was good but not the best I have had. It was not evenly cooked. The broccoli was too salty and overcooked. My wife’s gnocchi with wild boar ragù was great. We asked for the pecan pie but was told they did not have it. Again disappointed with such limited options you should have everything on the menu. We will try again.

Online menu did not match the menu presented in house. Online dish options were not even available. No true vegetarian options! Disappointing main dish, served sans meat. I asked for fresh veg to be added, and there was lackluster carrot only provided, with a poor flavor profile. Will not be going back.

Terrific dining experience! Service was stellar. Guest had trout - cooked to perfection. I had wild boar ragu - unique textures and flavors. We started with a baked brie that was heavenly!
Although our hostess needed manners, our server was fantastic! The Brie and cornbread appetizers were awesome. Hamburgers were good, but not done well enough and the cheese soup wasn't very hot but still delicious. Not sure any of us would return due to prices for what you received. Cool atmosphere though.
Great location and atmosphere, but the food was not very good. The food was over priced for the quality. I heard they got a new chef. Too bad, because my wife and I really liked eating there in the past.
My Mom and I were on a roadtrip through UT, WY and SD and we stayed at the Sheridan INN. We made reservations for the Open Range and I am glad we did because it did get pretty crowded. We had Ethan as our server and he was AMAZING. Attentive when necessary and never hovered or made us feel uncomfortable. He was happy to make suggestions and we were wise to listen. The drinks, dinner and dessert were all delicious and the service was AMAZING!

Our service was poor. First round of beverages served and then no further follow up for another round. Our appetizer dishes sat on the table until our main dishes arrived, which was a long time. When our main dishes arrived it was very obvious they had sat in the kitchen area for a while. The meat was dried out and fries were not hot. Kind of a sad experience.
