We had a really frustrating experience at One Eyed Buffalo in Thermopolis on March 22nd. With how expensive this place has become, we expected good service and hot food, but unfortunately, we got neither. Our food took over an hour to arrive, and all five entrées were barely luke warm. My husband’s burger was raw in the middle. Our waitress didn’t check on us at all during the long wait, and I had to get up and find someone else just to put in an appetizer order. I even had to refill our waters myself at the bar. When we asked for a manager, a very young woman came over who was no help, and the staff argued with us about our food being hot because “the plates were hot.” That’s not the same as the food being hot. It was also really disappointing that our food looked nothing like the online photos, no garnishes or effort at all. We’ve loved this place in the past, but the lack of staff, attention, and professionalism, especially for the price, was really disappointing. Hope they turn things around.
Recently at OEB, I ordered a well-done burger that took an hour and thirty minutes to arrive—only for it to come out completely raw, dripping blood all the way to the outer edge. It was immediately obvious with the first bite. What made the situation worse was that no one checked on us during that entire hour and a half. We sat with empty drinks for over an hour without a single server stopping by. I told them to keep the burger and walked out. I’m not sharing this to hurt OEB’s reputation. I honestly think the restaurant used to be great, and I’d love to see it succeed. A place with such a nice atmosphere is something Thermopolis truly needs. I hope the team takes this feedback to heart and uses it as an opportunity to improve. Unfortunately, I can’t help but feel that because we weren’t local or part of the birthday party happening that day, we were simply forgotten. Every guest should feel welcome and cared for, whether they’re from out of town or just around the corner.
1 hr 15 min to receive our food. Very poor service from our server. When she did wander through, never looked our way. We took our glasses back to bar for refills. Two chicken fried steaks were cold, hamburger ordered well-done was raw, cold, and sent back. Cheeseburger (too rare) and tomato basil chicken dishes both barely warm but were eaten as by 2:45 pm we were hungry. Server stated plates were steaming when delivered to table but only if she’d had to walk outside around the block first. They definitely were NOT warm. Another out of town family that we knew also had the same service. Very long wait with “cold” food. During this time, many other tables came, ate their food and left while we waited. It appeared locals that were known there received preferential treatment. In the past, we always loved the food and service before the facility was across the street.
We stood at the front waiting to be seated. The hostess walked by us over and over again and didn’t look at us or acknowledge us. After 15 to 20 minutes she finally came over and said “we’re not taking anymore tables, we have a lot of private parties coming in” Hello you may have told us that when we walked in the door, instead of leaving us standing there for 20 minutes. We would have walked out sooner, but we had other people joining us, so we were waiting for them. Can’t give a review on the food because we never got that far. You might want to train your people in customer service. Your food may be good, we will never know.

Best restaurant we have had the pleasure and good fortune to have patronized while trekking through Wyoming. Beats anything we experienced in Cheyenne or Casper. Awesome atmosphere. Friendly Staff. Bountiful and Clean Salad Bar. And, the food was absolutely amazing. Will definitely go out of our way to visit here again. Cannot wait.
Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid and family friendly. Servers went out of their way to ensure our children had everything they needed. Outstanding!

We loved this place. The Prime Rib was probably the best I ever had, even over high end restaurants. My husband had the Rocky Mountain Oysters. We were very pleased with our choices and the atmosphere and our waitress!!
