Another cozy northern spot to soak up the sun and sip a perfectly brewed coffee. Roasted locally and infused with northern love and ingenuity, each cup carries a taste of the region. For travelers, it’s the perfect stop to pick up thoughtful gifts to bring home below the 60th parallel. For those who live here, it’s all about supporting local while enjoying the comfort of a great cup.
Visited this coffee shop a handful of times whilst in the area on our trip to the arctic and back! By far the best coffee we had in the Yukon, and most definitely in Whitehorse.
The staff were always friendly and the blueberry lemon scones are delicious.
Comfy seating and nice to be in a secluded area away from the town
We stopped here after visiting the Yukon wildlife preserve and it was great. The scones are amazing (both the cheese and herb, and the cranberry one), and the drip coffee was probably the best we've had. The coffee beans are amazing too, particularly the Boreal brew. A must stop spot!

Unfortunately this is not as we were used to in the past. We have always been huge fans of Bean North. On our recent visit our lattes were 1/2 foam, the food was very disappointing; canned soup and a scone smaller than the palm of our hand, sandwich meat when we used to get roasted chicken. Changed a lot from what we were previously used too. Locals confirmed that this is the new normal and the price is premium. Hope they can turn it around and bring back some of the special experience of the past.
Bean North Coffee: A Hidden Gem in the Yukon
We stopped at Bean North Coffee on our way from the Yukon Wildlife Preserve to the Eclipse Spa, and I can’t say enough about this little gem of a coffee shop. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place to warm up and relax.
The food and drinks were absolutely top-notch. I had one of the best Reuben sandwiches I’ve ever tasted—perfectly toasted, flavorful, and generously filled. My café mocha was extraordinary, rich and smooth with just the right balance of chocolate and espresso.
Beyond the food, the customer service was excellent—friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. It’s clear that Bean North takes pride in what they do, from the quality of their coffee to the warm and inviting atmosphere.
If you're in the area, this is a must-stop spot for coffee lovers and food enthusiasts alike!
We enjoyed the coffee and the ambiance. Fabulous experience
This place is a bit out of the way but great for an excursion. Had some good food and coffee. If I return to Whitehorse again, I will certainly visit again.
I will preface by saying I'm not a coffee drinker but when I do, I only drink Bean North if I can help it. Their Cafe in the Woods always has friendly service. One of the baristas recently went above and beyond when my coffee snob brother asked for a cortado. She hadn't made one before by followed his instructions and made her first ever perfect cortado. Oh, and don't sleep on their scones and vegan chickpea sandwiches. 10/10 local institution.
THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT THEIR RETAIL SERVICE TEAM AND NOT THE CAFE
Went to one of their downtown retailers to buy their bagged coffee. I was informed of a price change via a social media post and the prices have gone up astronomically! When I was in that retail outlet shopping, I overheard someone yelling at the poor staff through the phone, very loudly about the social media post. I felt bad for that poor employee on the phone for having to talk to whoever was screeching through it! Not sure I want to keep supporting a team that increases their product prices, and then yells at retailers for trying to keep customers honestly informed about it. The poor woman was about to be in tears! My near two decades of service management would be ashamed of such treatment and attitude towards a client.
Whoever is in charge of dealing with retail outlet seems incredibly insecure, if a single, factual social media post sends whichever Bean North staff member into such a state. That person should not be working in a service business. If a product supplier increases their prices, then naturally the retailer has to do it as well. It's common sense. It doesn't take a rocket science to see someone being screamed at over the phone about a social media post, then that post being deleted from the retailers page to figure out who was on the other end of the phone.
Bean North, do better. Your team was once stellar and now it is going downhill. If the team finds this behaviour towards clients and customers acceptable, then I do not recommend their products no matter how good they may be.
Given some of the other 1 Star reviews here about management treating their own staff poorly, I would not be surprised if this was the same person. Shameful if it is that they have kept such a person on as staff.

Had a wonderful lunch here with my family. The food, coffee, and other drinks we ordered were great, while the staff were very friendly. A true local gem.

Nice cup of coffee, great service ( very friendly) and a really cute place. They've got lots of bright cheery flowers outside and inside is a bunch of small, cozy rooms to sit and enjoy your coffee. A nice selection of local artisans' wares as well. We'll worth the visit!
