One star so I can post my review but in my opinion- no stars. I went in there one morning about a month ago, and a lady who works there, Stephanie, was very very rude. I've been in and out of recovery from addiction for a while and she and I had an unfortunate confrontation, according to her from another time when I was still heavy in addiction.
I went back some time later to apologize for my behavior, and admit I had been in the wrong and very hurtful that day. I also know its completely in her right to not accept my apology for my hurtful behavior.
However, what I do not find acceptable is her inhuman attitude towards me as she felt that it was okay to call me down and lose her cool on me in front of all of her customers in the shop, and chase me out of the shop while shouting at me on my way out the door.
Also to mention how on that same day before anything was even said, I had already noticed her rude attitude towards other Firstnations customers before we even spoke.

Ordered decaf espresso and the staff making the coffee immediately started laughing to each other about me ordering espresso just to have decaf.

I just wanted to warm up a little and pass some time without ruining my sleep for the night..

I regularly go to Java because their coffee is good and the sandwiches are great. However, today a waitress spilled a bowl of soup down my back and all over my $200 coat and all I was offered was paper towel. Not even an apology or a check in about whether I was ok. I appreciate that they are busy and things are stressful but this is bad service and incredibly disappointing.
