“Amazing customer service! I made a mistake with my ordering. Totally my fault. But Eric and his manager was so understanding and accommodating. Even at a lost of revenue to them, they were willing and able to fix my problem. Thank you so much! I will be sure to visit if I'm ever in the area!“

“I always get the grilled beef cause no one has "GRILLED" beef pho that I've seen. it is really good. Only thing different this time is the meat was a tougher than it has been before. Hopefully, it is only this time cause it is usually tender.“

“It was so busy here on a weekend, I'd recommend coming right when they open or have someone waitlist at the front ahead of time. We waited nearly 45 minutes after waitlisting, standing outside in the cold the whole time. I can see why the restaurant is so popular, but in the future I won't wait there longer than 15 minutes because there are plenty of other great places to eat at without having to wait so long. The first thing on the menu that caught my eye was that they had BOGOhalf-off drinks. Cambo Khrack Iced Coffee and Jasmine with Sea Salt Cream were good but super strong and sweet (gave me the jitters). They're also huge, so they lasted me a long time, especially after diluting the iced coffee with more milk and ice. Moving on to the food: house special rice porridge and noodles with pork bone soup gave us a nice sense of comfort that was perfect for a chilly day. The combination stir fry noodles weren't all the great, though, despite it being described as a favorite among customers. I preferred the umami flavors and different textures from the porridge and other noodles. Lastly, the crispy fried banana dessert was delicious! We ate these up real fast, but I felt that it was too expensive for what seemed like two halves of a banana battered and deep-fried. Staff were friendly and tried to be as accommodating as possible, which we appreciated. We sat outside, and they started up one of those portable heaters for us when it got windy and overcast. They seemed very young (college-aged) but knowledgeable about RiceString's offerings.“

“This is where we go for special occasions when we want solid Korean food, particularly savory soups. But that is not to say the other stuff on the menu is not worth trying. Some of the dishes deserve special recognition, because they are not typical (in my experience) or because they are exceptional. Not typical could include the Yeolmu Boribap, which is daikon radish greens mixed with barley rice and other ingredients. Very tasty and filling, even if I can't recall having it elsewhere. We really like it. Seasonal? Maybe. Exceptional could include the Doenjang soup/chigae, which we all agree is maybe the best we have tried in years. It is a treat. Many regard this dish, served elsewhere, as a pedestrian food, ordinary and a staple, but here it is elevated. The Chunggukjang is a more rustic version of the Doenjang soup/chigae, and it is very delicious. For the uninitiated, this is a stew made from something like (Japanese) natto, and it isn't great for a hot day, but rather, awesome for cold weather dining. Delicious, not for the delicate. In sum, this is a mom-and-pop style place, not some corporate chain, exactly the kind of place we like to support. People in the area who seek good homestyle Korean food will know this place and appreciate what they do here.“

“Food was good. There wasn't much noodle but the amount of meat given was pretty generous. Not too oily and flavor was well balanced. One big issue though was the water cup. It literally smelt like trash. They gave me a clean cup after I asked, but still concerning. I'll give this place another chance to try the other dishes though.“

“So many of my favorite sit down/ non fast food Chinese restaurants have gone out of business in recent years. I was so happy to discover this restaurant is still alive and thriving. The staff here is very friendly. The food was great. My husband and I were very indecisive, so we shared many things. It ended up being way too much food, so next time, I'd opt for a lunch special instead. The fried rice was very tasty. The beef with peppers was my favorite. It was full of flavor. The lemon chicken wasn't my preference, I wouldn't order that again. The egg rolls are handmade and very good. Ambiance is classic homestyle Chinese restaurant. We also enjoyed beer and sake. There were many people ordering trays of food for parties, so it's definitely a popular spot. I'd love to come back again next time I'm in the area.“

“This place is BOMB! You have to wait a bit on a busy night but it's well worth the wait. The food is hot and delicious. The staff are helpful and recommend great dishes. This was my first time trying yupdduk and I was impressed. The vibe of the restaurant is busy, packed, and young. Great place to eat on a Friday or Saturday night! Highly recommend going during the weekday if you don't want to face the busy crowds.“

“First time going to Silverlake Ramen. The ramen was EXCELLENT! I had the blaze ramen with pork, the pork was so good I had to order another slice! The broth was great, the noodles were great! I can't say enough about the food. I'd also like to single out the great service, Ernesto was amazing! Great service AND friendly. I didn't get the name of the other person I talked to, but she was very nice and friendly. It was just a great environment to enjoy great food in! Definitely will come again when I'm in Cerritos!“
