“I've been wanting to try different omakase places in the LA area for a while now, and stumbled upon Omakase by Ozen online - and I'm glad I came! Reservations were made quickly and easily via Yelp, and I love that I was able to change my reservation time without much of a hassle. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate after I took the MCAT, so we were extremely hungry when we got here. I think this place might have had valet out front, but we opted to just find street parking in the neighborhood for a ~5 minute walk (which worked out afterwards since it let us walk off our food!). The actual restaurant is a very small and quaint place; we sat at a table instead of the bar but I thought the decorations were very cute. Service was very fast and attentive. They handed us a menu as soon as we came in, and we ordered the $130 omakase - which was a pretty good deal for the quality of the food and the whole experience. I do have to say that I was not full after the meal (so my boyfriend and I ended up getting more food afterwards at a different place), but I did enjoy my time here. Definitely worth a try if you're celebrating because of the food and the service, but I personally don't think I'd come back for the omakase.“

“Ordered Package #1 & it was more than enough for two people especially with all the banchan. Everything was super tasty & the staff was very friendly. Would come back here & order dishes a la carte if just with one other person.“

“Compared to a few years back this street food spot has gained a few more food stalls to neighbor it. There is now a bbq meet place, a salad and fresh foods place and a dessert one. I got three plates, one pad Thai, one pork fried rice and one of their new ground pork with egg dish. Pad Thai is good as always, fried rice was lacking flavor as before but they have seasoning for you to use. Their ground pork with egg was so good but holy crap it was spicy. It did have a good spice though I recommend it.“

“We've been coming here for years and I think I've been to this spot more times than any other place in ktown! They basically have 3 items on the menu: Duck, Duck, or Duck. Pro tip: If it's your first time here, just get the basic duck slices and your banchan and here's why. Although the duck here is delicious, the highlight of the meal really comes at the end. Koreans make a big deal about duck fat and it's health benefits over other types of unhealthy fat. So as you're grilling your duck in the center of the table, they plug up the grill with a small piece of kimchi and let that golden clear duck fat pool up at the end of the grill. When you're done, she'll come out with a big bowl of korean red rice, dump it into that crystal clear duck fat along with all of your remaining banchan (make sure to leave enough or order more!) and make the best fried rice from your leftover duck fat, that you've ever eaten anywhere.... This is the way. So the 3 duck dishes are basically duck slices, duck strips, or spicy marinated duck. If you order the spicy duck, it messes up the grill and fat a little and the rice is not quite as good. Definitely try it on your second visit (and you will be back after your first) but keep it simple for your first time!“

“The original Baekjeong location has now changed to Origin Korean BBQ. The meat quality is excellent, and the barbecue is expertly done. Service was quick, and the prices are fair. The only downside is the buckwheat noodles; they're too tough in texture . Overall, I'm satisfied and definitely plan to return.“

“If you want good Filipino food from a family owned cozy staple in Filipino town then this is the place to go! Came by here during a visit to LA and it was recommended by some friends who live in the neighborhood and I was not disappointed at all. Here are some takeaways:EnvironmentThis is a small cozy restaurant that has a family style vibe to it. A great welcoming energy, we felt right at home. We stopped around midday during the week so it wasn't a lot of people there. Overall it was relaxing and warm - great for lunch with friends or if you're alone and want to grab a bite to eat.ServiceOur server happened to also be the daughter of the owners. She was great and was happy to share some of the history of the restaurant with me. She was very helpful with telling us about the food and giving us recommendations. Great service!Food and drinksWe had a little bit of everything - and all of it was great! Here's a run down of everything we had:MAMA LEAH'S COCONUT BEEF ADOBOANN'S CORNBREAD BIBINGKASTEAMED WHITE RICENOEL'S SMOKED GOUDA MACSAN PABLO PULLED PORKEverything was delicious. The coconut beef (amazing!) was great with the steamed white rice, the mac and cheese was tasty, the pulled pork had a lot of flavor and the cornbread was warm and sweet, but not too sweet. Again - all the food was great.OverallLovely family owned restaurant. So glad that we stopped by here. If i'm ever in LA again this will definitely be a place I'll visit again. Great food with a great story.“

“This is a store with a local feel. The fold pork is light and not dry, and the brisket is very tender with the right mix of fat and lean meat! If you visit, be sure to try the folded pork and brisket! I also ordered a lip tip and it was just so-so. Other than that, you can choose the meat you like...The server in charge was so friendly that I felt relieved from the tension I had been feeling all day!Ahhh!!! Be sure to order coleslaw!! A fantastic combination!!!“

“Super amazing marinated short rib, even my friend who doesn't like meat liked it. If I ever went again that would be the only thing I buy. But it could be very pricey for the quality and quantity (we got course C and an extra order of marinated short rib + two steamed eggs and a japchae)- which is a major con for them vs other kbbqs around town. They did have so many side dishes that it couldn't fit the table!! I was really disappointed they stuffed my party of 6 in such a small table for 4 when the whole restaurant was basically empty at Thursday Lunch. The small table made the experience a bit underwhelming. Food was great though!“

“A good place to have bbq after work. Food is great portion! We’re 4 girls and ordered the combo for 2 guys plus one other dish. And we’re all full. The staff is very nice, he mentioned the amount is enough for girls. Not asking us to order more.“

“This is still my favorite place for cold noodle. I have been at this restaurant for at least 20 years now. It still tastes the same. I always order cold noodle and bulgogi. Compared to 20 years ago, they did expanded the place to fit more people. They still serve the same ban chan side dishes. Although they increased the prices, I still will come back. I love this place. Parking is hard to find when it gets crowded. So be aware.“

“Beware that it only opens on Friday afternoon. It's a chill place in the front yard. I got the Tlayuda with moronga. Very delicious and fulfilling. Oaxacan food (southern Mexican food) is rare where I came from (we have mostly northern ones, like Sonora). So this is a novel and special experience for me.“

“EXEMPLARY is the word that comes to mind when we visit Manpuku. We LOVE yakiniku and have tried many different places, including in Japan, and Manpuku stands far and out as the absolute best...*every time*. Perfect cuts, perfect sides, perfect setting, outstanding service. What more can one ask for? If we could afford it, we would eat here at least 2x a week.“

“This place was awesome. First of all, Lena our waitress was so kind and willing to explain the menu to us as this was our first time. The food was delicious, I recommend getting a combo so you can try many different things. Not only was the food good but the experience was amazing as well. Lena cooked the meats on front of us (she cooked them perfectly) and you could add seasonings and sauces. Additionally, the sides are brought by ROBOTS. My little sister loved this and couldn't stop giggling every time a robot came by and dropped of some kimchi which was free with the combo. 10/10 would recommend. We will definitely be coming back soon! Thank you Lena!“

“Experienced a traditional Korean dinner. I want to acknowledge how exquisite the service is. My family and I felt so welcomed and cared for. We ordered the combo A which came with 3 meats of your choice, soybean stew and a drink. In addition, we ordered 2 of the cold noodles. The cold noodles come in large portions and is perfect for sharing! When we ordered 2, the staff was so kind to already divide the soup into 4 bowls and I still couldn't finish it lol. Very generous on the noodles. Pairs well with the mustard and vinegar they offer on the side. The combo A was very fitting and the quality of the meat did not disappoint! Though it may be pricey, it's worth every penny. I would recommend the short rib, brisket and pork belly. Overall, the dishes felt like home. Not too heavy on seasoning yet filled with flavor. I will be a returning customer!“

“This is a must have every time I am in L.A.! The Khao Soi soup here is amazing and the fried dumplings are the best I’ve ever had! It’s a quaint little restaurant that gives a family vibe every time I visit. My first visit years ago was made special by Mrs. Kay, I was sad to hear that she was no longer working here during my last visit. The food is still very good, I would recommend stopping by if you are ever in the area.“

“Found this hidden gem do to a misunderstanding. Was looking for friend chicken and this place popped up on YELP. Well unfortunately no fried chicken. But we had the best bbq ribs. Tasty, falling off the bone the spicy bbq sauce was really good not really needed they were really well seasoned. My sides were greens and Mac and cheese all really good. Had to get an order of cornbread also good would've been better warm. Clean place with hand sanitizer on all the tables. No complaints, compliments to the chef.“

“I go to pigya at least once or twice a month. The food is good. When it was newer restaurant, they would be attentive and nice. The filipina server who used to work there was friendly. But lately have noticed service is not so good. They were rushed. Connie works wells in managing the restaurant but needs to work on customer service. She is not a good server. We asked Connie for no onion to be bought out with the meat and she ignored the request this last time. ANOTHER server was doing everything in a hurry and rushed. They usually cook the veggies and put it on top, this guy just let the meat and veggies(mushrooms and sweet potato) get cooked more than usual. They blow torch the rice but the guy left it on the grill went to do something else and then came back to melt the cheese when rice was getting harder.“

“Wow! The best marinated pork ribs! Come on down to Jin Ju. It isn't an all you can eat spot, but you can't beat the quality. My friend and I decided to try the prime beef and the marinated pork ribs (which is their speciality). Both meats were very delicious. They pretty much cook your food for you. The beef was cut into nice cubes. They were cooked at a perfect medium rare. The prok ribs were also cut into pieces, as well. There was a good selection of 10 types of banchan: fishcake (eomuk bokkeum), sesame broccoli, kimchi, potato salad, cucumber kimchi (sigeumchi-namul), stir-fried glass noodles (japchae), korean spinach, pickled onions, bean sprouts (kongnamul), pancake (yachaejeon), and radish kimchi (kkakdugi) . And honestly, this spot has one of the better quality banchan sides. The japchae had so much flavor, and the potato salad was also good. I appreciated that they offered the pickled onions, which goes really well with the marinated pork. My friend was also excited that they had korean spinach, which most places don't have at all. We also ordered the red pepper paste soup. It was so good! Rick and full of flavor. There's enough seating for 2-6 people to each table. It's not too big of a spot, so if you're trying to get away from the long lined spots - this is the spot to be. Service is quick and friendly. There is free parking in the lot if you're lucky. If not, you can find free street parking.“

“Ambience: The flat walls and open layout near other tables made it difficult to hear sometimes during conversation; this is a somewhat noisy location considering it's upscale vibe. Drinks: The cocktails were innovative and well-balanced. Premium soju "Seoul Nights' is available, at a high price but it's very good soju. Cuisine: The steamed egg appetizer is much better than average, with a little sesame oil for flavor and melted cheese over the top. Pork Belly Fried Rice was tasty and had a small kick of mild peppery flavor. Banchan was not very large selection, but all were well-made and fresh. Meat was top-quality - we ordered the large rib galbi and Australian wagyu bulgogi; both were excellently prepared for us. Note that you do not grill this yourself; the table attendant does that expertly for you. Otherwise, it might be possible to overcook the entrees, and that would be a terrible thing to do to meat of this quality. Overall: Superior quality and a fine experience. Dinner for three ran about $100 including tip - but we did not order the most expensive entrees or a dessert. I would not expect to become a regular diner, but will come back for special occasions.“

“Pretty nice place for the size and price. The beef was cooked well, nice and rare. The servers are all very nice and attend to you regularly. If you're looking for atmosphere, they're trying, but it's a small space on a busy street, so "A" for effort. I would go again if I was in the area and wanted all I could eat meat. :)“

“This is the second time I ordered a sandwich at LA Brisket this week! I can't believe more people aren't praising this joint! It is in a small mall/hallway in Chinatown. They have a few tables in the hallway. It's not the most convenient place to eat because of the limited seating and the exterior doors were open (causing a cold breeze). I was told by other guest that the doors can't be closed because it will lock. In short, it is easier to just order pick up and eat elsewhere. Anyways, let's get to the good part... the food. I've had both the 101 and 405 sandwiches. Both are so juicy and full of flavor with great combinations of cheese and sauce. The bread is perfectly is crispy on the outside so it hold its structure well for a sandwich but warm and soft on the inside. The brisket is the star of the show. Just the right amount of smoke and fat. It falls apart perfectly without being too soggy. The truffle fries were good. They were well done and very crispy. I'm hooked!“

“Definitely a staple in koreatown! This is the OG location! They specialize in lamb and beef kebabs but they also have plenty of other kebabs. Another favorite of mine here is the deep fried sweet and sour pork. Everything here is definitely packed with flavor! Come hungry and leave happy! The service here definitely has gotten better and the quality of meat is still really good! I also love the upgraded self rotating grill. Prior, we had to flip them ourselves. Only con is that there's no parking lot, so you have to look for street parking.“

“NOT AYCE (All You Can Eat) but worth it! We had the pork combo, which served 3 sets of delicious meat + soup for party of 2. A solid amount of food for 2 people AND the meat was delish. Gochujang soup was bomb too.Disappointed it's not all you can eat and was a little pricy but the quality of food and service makes up for it.“

“Great BBQ spot. This was a good restaurant with good food and drinks. I just expected more in flavor. The mashed potatoes needed more kick with either a gravy or pepper, the BBQ sauce need more variety with one being too sweet and the other very typical. My biggest criticism is the the sauces were cold and the meat was not steamy.Cocktails were great though, service was keen and polite. The atmosphere and playing was perfect for a date or business lunch/dinner.I would love to come back and see if they improve the balance of the dishes.“

“In the heart of Historic Filipinotown lies this gem of a restaurant, most of the things in the menu are mostly savory meaty dishes from pork , beef, chicken and shrimp. Truly a vegan's nightmare, I suggest having a maja blanca for non meat eaters (good luck with the dairy though), most dishes are served with rice with Java rice as an option together with sweet sour papaya salad (atchara) and condiments accompanying the dishes making it an enjoyable meal. Staff are helpful with the menu and will explain how the dishes are served , there is no fountain drinks so asking for an extra cup of water or ice might be needed for the hearty meal. Unfortunately, limited parking on the side of restaurant and front street parking is the one of the flaw of the place, a wide window view of Temple Blvd in front of the hospital, most of the ones eat here are really rare because of the parking factor hence most of the people only do pickup orders. But if you get past the parking problem, you can enjoy the atmosphere of quietness or random original Pilipinas music playing in the background.“

“After eating here for the first time, I told my brother (who I ate with) this is definitely the spot to bring the parents. A couple months later, we brought mom and dad. Enough said. Service and quality of food were really good. Highlights include marinated prime short rib, aged prime tenderloin, steamed egg, and Korean chimichurri sauce.“
