Hot Pastrami Sandwich Keeps Me Coming Back for More

“One of the best hot pastrami sandwiches I've had in a long time. Generous amount of meat, good size, with a tasty soft hoagie roll. I only had half of it for lunch. Salt and cinegar potato chips were a great side for it. I also had the potato salad. I am not a mayo person and I did not mind this one. No oily aftertaste, it was great! It also went great with the pastrami. Love the local neighborhood vibe and the super nice ladies that were behind the counter that day. Can't wait to try their other sandwiches!“

“Been here twice now- classic walk-up deli counter set-up where you pick up a number and once called you are ready to order. There is so much choice it's a difficult decision to make- first time round got the caprese- so fresh and simple but so so tasty sitting at fort mason in the sunshine devouring the soft bread with delicious ingredients, one of the lighter side sandwiches with not too much meat. Also had the Pat Burell- plenty of meat and pretty big, good roast beef sandwich with an italian twist, one of the pricier sandwiches on the menu- one of the personal go-to's. Have also tried the Caggiano- also just as delicious- you can really taste the freshness of the meat slices and nice and saucy on the soft ciabatta. Perfect sandwiches to take for a park picnic or stroll in the sun around crissy field. It is a to-go market so no seating inside. They also have shelves of intriguing Italian goodies to add to your picnic experience, although produce is a little on the pricier side. Will be back again to pick-up sandwiches for the perfect marina picnic day“

Pastrami Reuben Sandwich

“Amazing sandwiches with quality ingredients and great service. The salami in my Italian sandwich was especially good, not the usual processed stuff. I recommend getting all of the toppings (minus the peppers and pickles if you want to taste more of the meats and cheeses), they make the sandwiches flavorful. Fancy sandwiches are generally $13-$15, and bottled drinks are $3ish. There are a few tables inside and some by their parklet.Dietary restrictions: All sandwiches are made fresh so you can ask for ingredients to be omitted. The sandwich prep area is somewhat small so minor contamination is likely, especially with gluten.Parking: Street parking along Guerrero, you might have to circle 2 blocks but you should be able to find parking.Wheelchair accessibility: There are two steps to get inside, but the owner is kind and should be able to do curbside service if you ask/call. The Bodega has a sidewalk-level parklet you can eat at.“

“I stopped in omw home from the post office...I was craving a pastry but the savory smell was too enticing to ignore. Once the fellow at the counter (I'm thinking proprietor) told me that they bake their bread fresh daily, I was sold. I asked for a recommendation, (which, in spite of his best efforts and cheerful patience as I tried - first to pronounce - and then memorize the name of the dish, completely eludes me now) but it was their specialty; a hot sandwich on warm soft flatbread with a mysterious selection of melted cheese, lamb sausage (I think!) and an egg omelet. I had every intention of taking a photo, but it smelled so wonderful that I forgot until, well, the picture below shows what was left. It was different, delicious and I will definitely be back!“

“This is all around a really great sandwich! Bread was good and the toppings and condiments were perfectly proportional, exactly how I would've made it myself. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because the tuna was a little bit bland and I had to add salt and pepper - but other than that it was great and I will definitely be back. I ordered through Yelp and when I arrived at the pick up time they didn't seem to have seen my order, I recommend just walking in and ordering rather than using the app. They are very nice and made it right away so it didn't matter - just a tip for future customers!“

Le Regency Deli & Cafe Deli • $
18 California St, San Francisco

“A Satisfying Stop at Le Regency Deli We were returning to the office from a quick errand when we spotted Le Regency Deli and, feeling hungry, decided to share a breakfast sandwich. When we entered, we saw two men inside behind the counter. One, who I presume was the owner, was on the phone, so the grill man approached and took our order of ham and egg on a bagel. While waiting, I surveyed the space. It's long and narrow. As you enter, you'll find the counter displaying food on your left, with refrigerators containing canned and bottled soft drinks on the right. The dining area, with about 15 tables, and the restroom are located at the end. A few years ago, before COVID hit, this place bustled with the Financial District breakfast and lunch crowd, often having a line out the door. They even had outdoor seating. However, today, there were only a few patrons during our visit. The grill man prepared our breakfast bagel and handed it to us in a compostable box. It was generously layered with ham and topped with an egg. We strolled back to the office, took a bite of our respective halves, and both gave it a thumbs-up. Le Regency Deli also offers sandwiches, wraps, burritos, and salads, catering to those grabbing a quick bite during their lunch hour. Satisfied with the sandwich, I'll most likely return to try their other delicious-looking and filling options.“
