“From the service and atmosphere to the food, everything was exceptional! This is a place that is really worth going to if you are in sf. Everything was delicious but the popcorn ice cream, grilled red trout and the pork belly salad stand out!“
“The Progress offers an extraordinary dining experience that transcends expectations. From the chic ambiance to the impeccable service, every aspect of the evening is carefully curated. The menu showcases a diverse array of dishes, each a masterpiece of flavor and presentation. Highlights for me include the pork chop and the duck breast. The attentive staff elevate the experience, providing insightful recommendations and ensuring every need is met.“
“Amazing experience! We came here after a show that ran overtime, so we were a bit late. Regardless, we were greeted with a huge smile and the cocktail menu. When cleaning up the first course of bites, our server asked if we would like to leave the sauce to eat with the bread we had left. We both found this very thoughtful because usually at these fancy restaurants I’m worried about my food getting cleaned up too quickly and not being able to enjoy everything long enough! At the end of the night we had to run off to get our car out of the parking lot and completely forgot to take our to-go bag with us. We got a missed call and voicemail to let us know, and they were going to hold it for us for another 30mins even though we were the last customers of the night and had already left! The service was amazing and so was the food. I cannot recommend this place enough!Vegetarian options: If you inform your server that you are vegetarian they will point out everything you can eat. From my experience, there was at least one dish in each section to choose from, and I didn’t order that much for myself.“
“A wonderful prix fix dinner ! Server was good enough but when he promised to come back to verify our desert desire, he never did .. he brought out the desert he thought everyone would want .. there’s 4 of us .. we don’t all want the same thing .. I just but go as I was plenty full & didn’t really care if i didn’t have “
“This is a restaurant I've been to numerous times and each time the space takes you somewhere special, a culinary journey really. Very upscale restaurant and environment. A perfect experience. The staff were all so awesome, fun group, and very professional as well. The food was incredible. The service is impeccable, presenting each dish to highlights it's freshness and meticulous construction. Highly recommend!“
“We had an amazing experience at Abrazo with our friends! We tried a lot of tapas and all of them were simply delicious. I would particularly recommend the charred octopus, croquetas, albondigas, and gambas. The paella was exceptional, it was one of the best I have ever had in the States. I enjoyed my Rioja a lot. The restaurant had a very lovely vibe and it reminded me of the restaurants in Madrid. The people were kind and the service was excellent. So, I would recommend Abraza to anyone around.“
“I came recently and loved the Salty Dog tiki concept and tropical cocktails! To be honest I only tried one cocktail- the Rising Sun with gin, strawberry amaro, strawberry-ponzu cordial, ginger beer, and lime- which was light and refreshing. It didn't taste too spirit forward but was surprisingly strong. I liked it so much that when everybody else moved onto different drinks, I ordered another of the same :) We also ordered food for the table- most memorable was their tasty famous kale salad- an absolutely gigantic pile of curly kale with delicious avocado-parmesan dressing. The rest was decent but not worth mentioning in comparison. My group sat upstairs in one of the private rooms which was very cozy and had a window peeking into the courtyard greenery of Penny Roma. The red lighting made photos look a little like we were hanging out in a darkroom or warehouse. Our server was super nice and friendly and offered great recommendations. In short- great cocktails, great kale, great vibes. Can't wait to see what their next theme will be!“
“Amazing. A-maz-ing!! AMAZING.Did I mention this place is amazing?I don't need to write anything except "amazing."Rotating tasting menu. 4 courses, whatever they're making and all tables served the same courses. The one constant is the second course is always an arepa, as a nod to the previous Latin America restaurant that occupied that space for generations.Last night, we enjoyed a green bean salad, arepa with the BEST chorizo I have had on this side of the Atlantic and a lamb shank that was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful.Amazing meal, amazing service, super cozy place, reservations available through Resy. Booked out, like 2-3 weeks.“
“Nightbird is probably the best and most unique dining experience I've ever had. Without a doubt, the best service I've ever experienced in a restaurant. Bibek and Mark are phenomenal and make the whole experience as special as it is. I would highly recommend Nightbird to locals who have never visited and definitely for out of town guests who want to experience the culinary prowess of SF. I dream of the meals I've had there and can't wait for my next visit!“
“I would highly, highly recommend visiting Nopa. The food, service, and atmosphere were all incredible. Super cool space and the daily changing menu had so many amazing options to choose from. I had a duck leg that was so incredibly tender and my husband had a 9-hour bolognese that he raved about. I’d go back in a heartbeat!“
“Dined here on 4/18/2024 - one of the best dining experiences I've had! First of all, I love the spaciousness - each table is well positioned making it quite private for each party. The furnishings and decor are impressive and yet comforting. The food was delicious, the presentation - outstanding, and the service - excellent. We enjoyed the wine pairings very much. It was fun watching the staff in the open kitchen and I could tell they were enjoying their delicate and expert work as a team. Chef Mike was gracious in his serving of the courses and the staff were equally attentive. I loved everything about Anomaly and I would 100% come back!!“
“When there’s a portrait of Nina Simone on the wall, that’s all you need to know, the foods gonna be amazing, and it was. Everything was delicious and the Socca was exceptional. What I loved most is that its the kind of place friends come to enjoy each other.“
“We came here for my husbands birthday, we got their at 3:30 pm, since they close at 6 pm. I had the double stack burger, it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The bread was so soft, the patties were tender and cooked médium well. It was so good. The fries were extra crisp and salty, I love fries, I would go back just for the fries! I also had an M3 I think that what the drink was called. Get it! My husband also bought two pizzas and a salad. Which were both yum♡ And of course you get a beautiful view. I would layer, if your planning to be their a while.Parking: Don't worry about parking, there is tons of it.“
“I sort of get it because it's truly a SF institution. Prime rib is great, and so are the sides, as everyone says. Super awesome texture on the beef, properly seasoned. Horseradish it a great addition. However it's very stuffy and just plain old. Lots of analogous places in England have modernized over time, but this feels like the 70s. I guess they don't care because it's always full, but yeah, it could use a little sprucing up.“
“Fine dining price & portion but slightly underwhelming. Everything was good but not WOW. Service was mehWe enjoyed the bluefin tuna tostada and the sakura toast the most. The strawberry scallops were also great.Overall overpriced for what it is.Atmosphere was nice though.“
“Cute French restaurant with excellent food! We ordered extensively and have no regrets. Portions was great. You leave feeling like it was too little nor too much. Things we ordered: -Miyagi oyster special -Dungeness crab pave: this was a HIT. Much appreciation for the thinly sliced hasselback like potato base. So yum. -tuna sashimi: freshhhh -Hen of the woods: burst of umami. Perfection -crispy squid: perfectly crispyyyy -mushroom farro "risotto" with crispy kale and bacon: loved the flavors here! But a part of me wishes it was the real risotto. -duck confit: CRISPY SKIN. Ugh so good. Fall off the bone.l -pineapple napoleon: blown away by this as someone who does not care for napoleon at all. I liked this -chocolate mousse with coffee crumble: a tried and true fave of mine Service was attentive. Never had my glass empty. No complaints here. Would def go back. Appreciated how cute all the table ware and flatware was too.“
“Wildly popular and mostly lives up to the hype! Although, I think the Breakfast Sandwich and the Morning Bun are overrated. IMO, the Smoked Salmon Tartine and the Pressed Ham & Gruyère Sandwich are the can't miss highlights of the menu. The standard baked goodies like the Almond Croissant are also v solid. The big open seating space give me "easy like Sunday morning" vibes that you can keep going by swinging by Heath in the same building or just taking a stroll through the neighborhood.“
“This is one of my favorites in the Marina. Constantly very high quality food. I almost don’t want to review it because I don’t want it to get too crowded. They are very close to getting a Michelin star! Omg get the pavlova for desert. Their fish is amazing too.“
“Very nice neighborhood restaurant. Plenty of gluten-free options. Servers are very knowledgeable of the menu! Dessert was fantastic. And the cornbread is gluten-free and delicious! If we ever make it back to SF, we're definitely stopping for dinner again!Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten-free options!“
“Impeccable service, some of the best I’ve had in the Bay Area (including the 50+ Michelin starred restaurants I’ve visited). Love that the head chef and kitchen staff get involved in the service. Terrific beverage pairing. Admired the Chef’s willingness to get off the beaten path a bit with the 20 or so bites/dishes and not just play the fancy diner’s greatest hits. A few misses the night we were there including the pork (dry), minuet & dungeness crab (too salty) and mackerel (too much vinegar/acid). The Som clearly loves his craft and breathes life into his also unusual pairings. A shoo-in for a Michelin Star, and I suspect with time two stars as the food continues to be explored and tested for excellence. $245 for the menu and $165 for the pairing feels neither like a steal or robbery but on the money. Hats off John Wesley and Team.“
“Spruce is where good times and great friends come together. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, making it the perfect spot to share a few drinks and light bites with friends. The food is ideal for sharing, the drinks are top-notch, and the staff is friendly and attentive. There's something special about laughing with friends at the bar, enjoying the night, and pretending tomorrow doesn't exist. If you're looking for a place to celebrate and create memories, Spruce is the place to be. Cheers!“
“I love Outerlands, it's a beautiful, small and cozy space and at dinner time it is lit just right. We were a large group seated by the window, and the service was truly impeccable. The String Theory & River Crossing cocktails are two of the best drinks I've ever had, anywhere. They make that aperitivo rossa themselves, OMG. Balanced perfection and, oh, just SO GOOD! Outstanding mixology. The starters were great (esp the kohlrabi salad--GET IT!), but a bunch of us had the chicken as our main and it was sadly disappointing. It might seem extreme to give three stars for food based primarily on the chicken alone, but I do feel that chicken is such a foundational/cornerstone dish for a restaurant, the chef should feel compelled to put out the best possible version they can. It was dry, the skin wasn't crisp enough, and it was accompanied by a crouton, chicory, and fennel salad that was very tart and one dimensional, totally missing balance (I think it needed some currants or golden raisins--SOME spec of sweetness to offset the VERY bitter chicories and the lemon vinaigrette). All five of us who ordered the chicken left half the food on our plate--and we're hearty guys who love to eat. Please, take a critical look at this dish. Your customers are loyal and we love you and want you to succeed. BTW, great date night ambiance!“
“Stepping into, one is immediately struck by its excellent ambiance, a blend of elegance and warmth that sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. The service, too, was impeccable, with attentive staff ready to cater to every need. However, the journey took a slight detour when our eagerly awaited dishes arrived, only to find them disappointingly cold. Despite the initial chill, the standout of the evening was undoubtedly the risotto. Served piping hot and bursting with flavor, it was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication. The fillet mignon, unfortunately, failed to meet expectations, arriving cold and lacking the desired tenderness. Even the truffle fries shared the same fate, arriving at our table with a noticeable chill. To their credit, the staff quickly acknowledged the oversight, going above and beyond to rectify the situation. Not only were we not charged for the subpar steak, but we were also treated to complimentary desserts. And what a treat they were! The desserts not only delighted the palate but also dazzled the eyes, a true testament to the artistry of the pastry chef. In conclusion, while the culinary journey had its ups and downs, the exceptional service and the culinary prowess showcased in dishes like the risotto and the stunning desserts left a lasting impression. With a bit more attention to detail in ensuring dishes are served at the appropriate temperature, Miller &Lux has the potential to truly shine as a culinary gem in the City“
“The best signature cocktails in SF can be found at True Laurel. This hip spot is located in the Mission near Trick Dog and features innovative cocktails from the team behind two-Michelin Star Lazy Bear. My favorite drink on a previous menu was In The Pines, Under The Palms, a brilliant twist on the Martinez, a classic that many believe was invented in nearby Martinez, in the East Bay region of the San l Francisco Bay Area. True Laurel makes the Martinez even more local with foraged redwood tips, together with coconut washed rye and the backbone of the original Martinez recipe (London dry gin, sweet vermouth, Luxardo Maraschino and bitters). Thank you to Alexis and Macario for bringing me to this awesome bar.“
“Recommend making a reservation if you want to sit inside with the plants. They had room for walk-ins on the patio area outside, which I preferred since it was loud inside. Cocktails & food were delicious!!!Vegetarian options: Mushroom risotto was really good & they can do it vegan if you ask!“
“The service was impeccable. Everyone worked together seamlessly.First course, added course and dessert was creative and plentiful. We felt the mains fell short of flavor and creativity.I will return when the menu changes as the prix fixed menu is genius and you can’t beat the price.“
“Food is great, but a little on the pricier side. Vibe / atmosphere is spot on. Most of the staff are well trained and pleasant but the host/ seating process feels inhospitable and overly optimized for efficiency as they will not seat tables even if the majority is there, ready to order, and knows that the table needs to be turned over for a second sitting, making it a bit dysfunctional for larger groups (things happen, sometimes a person will be late and the show must go on).“
“Myself and 3 coworkers were in town for a work conference and we decided to ensure we try local restaurants. Frascati was absolutely fabulous. The food was extremely delicious the atmosphere was amazing. The restaurant is right on the cable car route and that gave it an extra special touch. The service was fantastic. By far one of the best restaurants I have ever been too. Thank you Rebecca and Jon, if I make my way back to San Francisco I will definitely be back!“
“Great experience, fabulous service from the time we arrived to when we left. Fro the host to the server everyone was amazing. The food is great, we had the Steak and Mushroom for the mains, caviar with avocado , truffle fries , salad for starters. Overall it was a great experience, do check out the rooftop especially around sunset.“
“TL;DR: Worth the visit, unique flavor profiles and pairings! Exceptional service. I celebrated my anniversary here and they did not disappoint! As soon as we got seated, there was a note to acknowledge our anniversary and it was a warm welcome! As someone who is indecisive, I enjoyed the structure of the menu, first two dishes were included while you had options to choose from for the next three courses. We had complementary Japanese milk bread to start and it was probably the best bread I've ever had! The cultured butter and warm bread make such a cravable combo! The second dishes were light and refreshing! The cured hiramasa had the perfect touch of spice from the Fresno vinaigrette and the Asian pear cut through ever so slightly making it a delicate pairing with the fish. The beet tartare has good texture with the horseradish foam and crunch from the pine nuts. Second course, the celery root ravioli was different and had a light herbaceous note that made the dish not too heavy like other pasta dishes. We added the supplemental agnolotti and they did not skimp out in the truffles. We're not usually fans of truffle but it was not overpowering and complemented in flavor and texture. Third course, we had all three dishes! Seared black cod and the A5 wagyu melted in your mouth, we didn't even need the knife to cut through. The sauces in both dishes cut through the fattiness and paired well with the decadent taste of both the fish and meat. The Sakura pork had a good chew and smokiness from the breakfast sausage was unexpected but made for a desirable pairing. Fifth and final course, we opted to try both desserts! The profiles of both sweet dishes were different but worth the try. The spiced chocolate had subtle ginger notes while having a good crunch complemented by the meringue. Spring forward definitely gave the feeling of spring with light and airy flavors of nutty coconut and green herb granita! All in all, I'd revisit to try out the revolving menus, the chefs really put time and thought in the courses and left me intrigued for what's coming up next. Service was kind, informative, and attentive. Our waters were always filled, dishes bussed, and table was marked all at appropriate times. Thank you again 7 Adam's team!“
“The food was very good. And the restaurant wasn't busy, so we got seated right away. Our waitress was quick and friendly. The swamp water tea was delicious, if a little small for $6. Fried Okra was great. I enjoyed my Po' Boy sandwich, it was a bit messy, but the oysters were flavorful. My husband thought the ribs were perfectly cooked, and enjoyed his beans. The only real disappointment was the Sweet Potato Fries which were limp and soft. The outside seating made it so we could enjoy the pleasant afternoon weather.“
“The food, service, ambience, music...everything was FANTASTIC. What a wonderful place. We will definitely come back soon- a great place to bring out of town guests or celebrate a special event...or just have a really great date night. We had dinner here and then went to a comedy show at Speakeasy Brewery around the corner- so fun!“
“This restaurant feels like it exists somewhere in between what could be a local haunt and a tourist trap. It has a versatile yet contained menu that has a little bit of something for everyone. The burrata appetizer was perfectly executed for a place that isn't designated Italian, and the salad offerings really stood out. I had the ahi tuna and for $20 wish I had a couple more pieces of Ahi but the flavors and seasoning were fantastic. I especially loved the little pieces of sushi style ginger mixed within - delicious. It should also be noted that the service was exceptional, toeing the line between attentive and breathable to a T. They even had an extra kale salad made by accident and brought it over complimentary as we waited for the last of our party to arrive. A+“
“Although some of the prices were shocking.. Every dish was delicious. They have some sort of pulled pork hybrid toward alis , hybrid tortellini/ravioli.. a must eat. Also surprisingly the carrots were one of the best dish on the menu. Definitely worth a bite.“
“There are not enough stars to describe the experience. The food was not only incredible but the presentation was beautiful. The service was magical from the hot towels to the goodie bag you go home with. The space is fabulous and I would go back in a heartbeat ?“
“Absolute perfection. My husband and I will remember this evening for the rest of our lives. The food was divine. Flavors, inspired. Service, attentive, delightful, and not intrusive. Each dish was presented with a brief but detailed description so that we could appreciate the food even more. You’ll want this to be your next dining experience. They take it all to the next level of sublime.“
“This is my second experience at Lazy Bear. It was just as good as the last. This time my wife did the mocktail pairing and I did the wine pairing. Half of the wines paired very well. My wife had fun with the mocktails. The lamb is the absolute standout, I have not had a better lamb in my life. Highly recommended..“
“Atwater tavern is the go to spot of Mission Bay! Warriors game ✅ Giants Game ✅ Special Events ✅ Great Drinks, Nice sized portions.Cheeseburger, Chicken Wings, Steak & Shrimp, Flatbread Pizzas all things to try at this place.Parking: Atwater has free and paid spacesKid-friendliness: Yes plenty of kid options availableWheelchair accessibility: Accessible and available. Always suggested to call ahead for guaranteed comfort“
“I always forget to take pictures of the food here because we did in so quickly. I love the food here, the restaurant is lovely and comfortable, and the staff are very kind. I love their rotating menu and delicious cocktails. I look forward to the next special occasion that we choose to spend at The Morris.“
“Really glad I stumbled upon Octavia's existence. The service was great, with obvious knowledge and experience. The food (10 items shared amongst 4 of us) was all excellent. As far as food goes, I do often have constructive feedback in the hopes of improving the experience, but here they just nailed everything. Pacing, quantity, seasoning, diversity, with flavors and ideas that simply worked well. Fantastic meal, and I'd gladly come back next time in SF.P.s. sitting outdoors was pleasant, and probably less smoky and noisy than indoors: easy to have a conversation, and the enclosure kept us warm. Wish the passing rush hour drivers were less aggressive as a whole, but this is straying from the topic at hand...“
“Loved it. We were just in the City for the day and it was near the appointment that brought us to town. We thought we’d take a chance and weren’t disappointed. Atmosphere was just up both our alleys. We were welcomed warmly, seated quickly, and service was amazing. My latte was perfect. Food also was terrific. We shared a crab Benedict and a Big Hip and tried so hard to finish every bite, but it was just too much. We really wanted Millionaire’s bacon, but just couldn’t manage it.“
“I hadn't been back at this place since the night we watched the fireworks for the Golden Gate Bridge's 75th anniversary ( many years ago, maybe 10). The man by the door was friendly and greeted us. But the bartender was not very friendly and frankly seemed like he would prefer for us to leave. We got an Irish Coffee for the old times to share. It was still great! Drank it quickly, paid and got out of there. Although still a good drink, I rather be somewhere where the staff are a bit more pleasant.“
“The weather at 10 o'clock in the morning in San Francisco in April was quite pleasant, with the temperature below 20 degrees Celsius. It felt great to sit outside the restaurant to dine (but it's best not to sit for too long, because there is no awning outside the restaurant, so for a while After a while, the sun will still hurt you).I ordered Russian Hill and chose bacon and cheddar cheese. The chef cooked it into a pie. There were also potato (maybe grilled or fried) and fruit combinations. It was quite delicious and rich. The prices on the meals have been increased, and it is recommended that the store should update them. The overall service quality is good, and the two male waiters are very diligent in greeting customers' needs.“
“What a location. And although on my own I received a table and wasn't tried to be parked at the bar. Really professional service. Fresh cutlery for each course, complimentary small cup of consommé, homemade Yorkshire Pudding (?). The Artichokes were divine. Shrimp and lobster Risotto good, presentation a bit boring (the"boring" bit just because I've expected more after having seen the Artichoke plate) Ristretto was hot.And yes, if you think someone is wearing a Chanel Jacket it probably is one. But no snobbism from anyone and was ok in my makeup free, tired self. Next time I feel like a treat I'll go back“
“Only stopped for quick breakfast near the Academy of arts San Francisco. Recommended by our Lyft Driver “UGUR” (Best Lift Driver in San Francisco) and Was the absolute best ever Veggie Omelette I’ve ever had in 70 years❤️Vegetarian options: Loved the Flavor of the Veggie’s In Omelette“
“It is challenging for me to describe how much passion and effort they put into the quality of their food. When I first arrived outside the restaurant, everyone patiently waited for the door to open on the dot. When the door opens, we are warmly greeted inside and check in promptly. There was a space on the right side to hang our coats and store our umbrellas since the rain was torrential. When I first sat down, I noticed how vast and spacious the restaurant was, with a beautiful large countertop leading to an open kitchen. The first course came, and despite how assuming it looked, that single bite packed such a large amount of flavor that I knew it was going to be a lovely evening. The subsequent dishes that followed were also not what it seemed, but the flavor did not clash for me. I had plenty of sake pairing during the meal that you never thought would work with that dish, but the pairing was pretty on point. I had lots of new sake I had never drunk before, and I had taken plenty of photos of each bottle so I could find it later when I wanted to.The owners are amiable when conversing with everyone and answering questions on the dish in particular or if they have any recommendations on another restaurant they like. It is not an experience I can elaborate on in detail, but rather, you have to experience it to know how different it is from all the restaurants I have experienced in the Bay Area. I will return to try their dishes when they rotate them again for the spring time.“
“Fable is amazing! From the warm atmosphere, decor, their wonderful staff, and unbelievable great food made my first night in San Francisco one to remember. Thank you Chef Brandon for the suggestion and to our fabulous dining room attendant Lori.“
“The last time I ate at Plow was 7 years ago, and their food still endures today! It's nice that they now offer outdoor seating to handle the volume due to operating in a very small space. I ordered the fried egg on brioche toast, which is a delight. Its clever how they add frisee salad mix that sits in between the fried egg and brioche toast. It has the right acidity to amalgamate the buttery brioche, fried egg, saltiness from the prosciutto, and the gruyere cheese. The chili flakes add the right amount of heat and doesn't overpower. The plow potatoes are absolutely bangers! Salt, naturally sweet potatoes, rosmary, smashed and baked! Yes, please! If you're looking for a hidden gem away from the busyness of downtown, yet have to wait in line and don't mind sitting extremely close to others. Yet want to impress your date, friend, or international buddy with a good breakfast, look no further.“
“I recommend coming with someone and getting the tasting menu. But i came alone. I walked by around 515pm and was able to get a table. The service was really good everyone was very warm and friendly. I got the asparagus, speghetti, and the chocolate moose. All 10/10 but again, i wish i had come with a friend and gotten the tasting menu.“
“When your clients decide on Liholiho Yacht Club as the place to meet to design their future wedding rings ?Food is communal by nature, as a result, I was amazed by the fruitfulness our meeting yielded — as we departed, our spirits soared with inspiration and excitement for what’s to come ?“
