“Cozy little Diner in Nob Hill with a great atmosphere and delicious food. Also love the eclectic collection of coffee mugs for patrons to use. Food was served quickly and was very high quality, and the staff were super friendly. I’m out here for work so will make this a regular spot for however long I am out here.“
“Super good diner experience in the city! Great countertop and small booths vibes, super friendly service and tasty food. I got the Irish breakfast, it was my first time trying Irish bacon and sausage, and it was super tasty. Funnily enough, it seemed like more people were getting breakfast than hamburgers here.“
“If you want a good burger, this is the place to be!Personally, this is my favorite casual burger spot! Taste like home, the burgers are great, the fries are great, the drinks are fizzy! They even have (2) veggie options and beef bacon!I can't tell you how much i love this place, and the owner is one of the friendliest people I've met! Highly recommendVegetarian options: Garden burgerBeyond burger“
“Good rating because it’s my favorite and I come here all the time. But whenever I order and it’s the owner that takes my order: it’s late, cold, and wrong. Dude what the hell! Your staff is trained better than you. There was no rush and nothing complicated was ordered.“
“Decided to walk around Castro and visit this diner on my way out of town. I felt welcome the moment I stepped in and was taken care of right away. The staff had a special charm that made it some what feel like home. I didn’t catch the name of the silver haired gentleman who ended up taking care of my order who was very kind and attentive but I did catch the name of the handsome blonde server who took care of me when I entered. Nate was super friendly and easy to talk to, was attentive and kind. Would return just to say hello! Definitely check this out! It’s worth your time. :)“
“Very good diner. Has lots of breakfast options, I always say I'll try something else but I always stick with a chefs mess. Never went for lunch but they have that too. They have vegan options too! It is down the street, a couple blocks, from Wise Sons which I also recommend.“
“One day, I need to go to Golden Gate Park for a morning event. Then, I found this place open early in the morning. Because not so many brunch places open that early. This restaurant is small, but service is nice and food is okay. If you need to stop by around Golden Gate Park area and need early breakfast, I would recommend this place.“
“Of course I am back at one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area Cafe La Taza. And I can't tell you how blown away by this south western salad that I added shrimp. OMG!!! Best salad ever. So big I could have it for lunch and dinner. It is always a pleasure being here with the staff and even cust. Just has that warm at home feeling. I always want to be around this vibe! Hasta la proxima mi familia!!!!“
“The Pinecrest diner is an excellent example of an American standby restaurant, the diner. The pasta carbonara was a little weak on garlic but chock full of mushrooms and prosciutto. The bacon cheeseburger was delicious and the chili cheese fries should not be missed.“
“This place has been on Market for almost 2 decades, & while the owners have changed a couple times (I think), they still have the same delicious breakfast. The staff are super thoughtful, kind, & attentive. It's a greasy spoon/hole in the wall kind of place, & the bathroom didn't lock this last time I went, but it's delightful, a nice little comfort food spot to dine by yourself or a couple friends.“
“This place was absolutely amazing and the owner took the time to make my daughter special Gluten free food. We love this place and wish it was in Reno. We stayed 5 days on Geary street and ate here every AM. The gluten free crackers my daughter loved. It was adorable, accommodating, cute, friendly, great food and good company. Thank you for being so kind to us.“
“I’m giving the Tennessee Grill five stars, which seems like a lot, because it earns five stars for being very good at what it is. It’s an old-fashioned neighborhood diner with few frills, reasonable prices and excellent service. It’s not the kind of place you’d go out of your way for, but it’s a fine destination. Full of locals who appreciate a place in which they can linger over coffee and a newspaper or visit with friends. It’s NOT trendy, you won’t be rushed or feel underdressed (as if). The City hasn’t got many of these kinds of places left. Appreciate the Tennessee Grill for what it is.“
“This was the best food we had all weekend other then one other spot. Breakfast was very flavorful and came out hot. Cooked perfectly and the lady working was the sweetest. I highly recommend especially if you want a good "home cooked" “
“Worth a stop if you're in the area and need a late night bite to eat!Came in at around 10pm on a Tuesday night and it was pretty quiet with about 2 or 3 tables occupied. Couldn't see any staff at first so we sat ourselves down and ordered using the QR code, but someone came by shortly after to bring us water. Decor was on the kitschy side, with time-worn photos and paintings adorning the walls and fake grape bunches festooned across the ceiling rafters. The linguiça breakfast plate with scrambled eggs was filling. They were really nice about letting me substitute French toast for the home fries and toast so I really appreciated that. Grilled cheese sandwich came with tomatoes and onion and was just okay. The onion rings were excellent—perfectly crispy and a good ratio of batter to onion. Strawberry milkshake was decent and about what you'd expect from a diner. The spicy verde sauce they have in bottles on the tables was very tasty and paired really well with our savory items.Overall, I enjoyed Grubstake a lot. The low-key but courteous and quick service, Portuguese selections on the menu, and old greasy spoon vibes made for a memorable experience.Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian options so depends on if you are okay with a grilled cheese sandwich, veggie burger, or breakfast foods such as pancakes and eggs. The main proteins in most dishes were meat and it didn't look like substitutions were readily available, so you would probably have to ask them to simply leave the meat out if you wanted any of those.“
“We popped in for a quick bite before a music show at the Regency Ballroom (couple blocks up the street)We were greeted by Antonia, who has a good sense of humor and uses it.We had some onion rings, chicken tenders& mozzarella sticks. All very healthy !Also had soup. The tomatoes basil soup was surprisingly ? GREAT. As well as the chicken noodles soup which was packed w/ chicken. Will go again !“
“We went there twice, the first for breakfast and the second for dinner and it was a delight we were quickly welcomed, the dishes were delicious and at rather affordable prices, with an American film decor ? If you are in the area don't hesitate to stop by ?“
“We went there to find the retro American atmosphere, we were not disappointed. The jukeboxes, the furniture, everything is there. The prices are a little high, the food not worthy of a gastro but we had a good time there with very pleasant service“
“Our 2nd time here and highly recommended by my sister and brother in law. They live in San Francisco and frequently have lunch here and have been made to feel like family. The food is amazing from the pork and carrot house soup, roast duck, special chicken, squab, ribs and seaweed. Today we had the noodles with beef stew. Last time we had the Garlic noodles that was tasty without any meat. The waitstaff were Very Attentive! It was amazing to see how many to-go orders of duck and chicken that are hanging in the window that they go through as we watch while we eat our lunch. The restaurant is very clean. We don't have to ask for a new plate or napkins. Very attentive!“
“They make the best pancakes in the world. They hook it up with the syrup and the butter and whatever else you ask for. All the employee's that I dealt with were super nice and fully hospitable. Thank you Denny's for always being bomb.“
“As soon as my husband and I walked in, the owner welcomed us with a warm smile. We both tried the cheeseburger, the fries, the chicken nuggets, and jalapeño poppers. The food was delicious and the service is excellent. We will definitely be back the next time we visit.“
