Wayfare Tavern offers delicious meals and friendly service, a true classic SF restaurant with a relaxed vibe. The fried chicken and burger are highlights, with flavorful dishes that live up to the hype. The incredible burger is cooked to perfection, and the California fried chicken is still excellent. The food is fabulous, with delicious popovers, burrata mashed potatoes, and Brussels sprouts; portions are very large. The service is outstanding, warm, welcoming, attentive, and helpful, making a dinner an experience. The team is present without being overbearing. The decor is tasteful, and the new venue has a main dining area that feels familiar and a more clubby room with booths. Many enjoy the great wine selection and the best martini.
