“This place is amazing. My friend made reservations for us about a month in advance. We were seated right away. We had the options of either seafood or beef menu. We choose the beef menu. This is my first dining experience so I was looking forward to everything. This was a unique 12 course experience and the staff here did an amazing job. Every item that came out was very good. Tucked inside a hotel you wouldn't know about this place but I am glad my friend found it. We now made it a yearly thing to come back here and have dinner here now“

“Wah Sing Dim Sum, on San Gabriel Blvd., is just below Las Tunas Drive. The only time they've disappointed me is when I forget they're closed on Wednesdays. Other than that they make some of the yummiest dim sum around. They make my favorite charsiu.... chasu? chashu?? -- anyway, favorite bbq pork steamed bao here. I don't know what makes them so good. I think there's a hint of ginger in that filling. Their stir-fried noodles, $5.89 under the "Chef's Special" section, are also a steal. Their steamed sausage rolls are good as well. I've only ordered my food to-go. I've only seen diners inside one in a while although admittedly I usually stop in the early afternoon. The ladies behind the counter are no nonsense but sweet; they've thrown a sample my way once or twice. The wait for your food can be more than a few minutes, especially if that item you want isn't fully steamed yet, especially if they're busy, but the extra wait is worth it. They're a dim sum hole-in-the-corner of a strip mall dominated by a Good Fortune Supermarket, which means tons of parking. In fact, every single time I've been there, there's always another customer-- or several customers-- waiting to order, or waiting to receive their order. Speaking of ordering, they have the standard golf pencils (next to a bottle of hand sanitizer) for filling out the order form. There are also laminated menus with photos. Wah Sing is a dim sum dark horse that won't disappoint. Unless you go in a Wednesday“

“I can't believe that I didn't write a review for A Ri Rang Tofu House because I've been there many times. It's still my go-to for Korean tofu soup. It's located in a busy strip mall so parking is an issue. Luckily we got a space downstairs at busy dinner time. It was windy and chilly that night so the restaurant was full when we got there. We waited about 10 minutes and we got our table. Their prices are not cheap and they increased a lot in recent years. We ordered the combo C8 (rice with assorted vegetables and beef in the hot stone pot plus a seafood tofu soup ($28.99), S4 Grilled teriyaki chicken ($26.99), and S8 Rabokki (rice cake, fish cake, ramen noodles, vegetables with spicy sauce) for ($18.99). The restaurant also offers side dishes (banchan) for free and you can ask for refills. The banchan was very addictive and we all liked the potato dish, broccoli, seaweed, and kimchi, etc. Service was okay that night maybe they were too busy. The Grilled teriyaki chicken was tender but the portion was smaller than before and the chicken meat was cut into small pieces. I still like my bibimbap hot stone rice but I wish the seaweed was more crispy and the beef was not cut into those tiny pieces though. My daughters like their rice cake dish but they could not finish it. Overall it was delicious and it was satisfying to have hot Korean food on a chilly night.“

“Fancy dining room, but the food was the star! Very tasty dimsum staples (siu mai, har gow, phoenix claws). Well made and steamed perfectly. The pan fried pork buns were also quite good. Where they fell short was the lack of sufficient flavor in their Singapore Rice Noodle. It lacked the right color and "wok hei" and peppers needed to make it stellar. Good. But not great. Tea was refilled often and parking, as usual was abysmal.“

老街漫烤qin’s garden Barbecue • $$
534 E Valley Blvd #10, San Gabriel

“This is one of those no frills Chinese Skewers place. Bring cash if you are coming, they give you free 1lb crawfish if your party spends more 88 dollars and paying with cash. All the skewers were delicious, especially the pork and the lamb. Perfectly seasoned and cooked to the just right amount. We ordered many other things including octopus, chicken cartilage, and gizzards. Everything tasted good. They also have other entree and sides, including rice noodle soup, grilled cold noodles, and enoki mushroom in tinfoil. Those are great as well but the seasoning is more sweet and sour rather than spicy. The place is rather small so I think that's why there is only one waitress. She is kind but always busy. However, the major ordering is done through the QR code scanned webpage so the ordering shouldn't be an issue. Parking is quite difficult during the rush hour since the parking lot is small too. Overall it's a restaurant that's best for small group of friends gathering on a weekday.“

“see a lot of bad reviews and realize that the comments are on the services and since I only order to go from here I can only judge by the food lol The porridge is delicious. the menu is a little bit of a learning curve. you can pick the base porridge and add extra ingredients to it. I wouldn't recommend adding more than two ingredients, two or three ingredients total are really enough. I had the fish porridge and added oyster in it the flavor is great, very refreshing and light, flavorful, with a nice touch of white pepper. good healthy choice for dinner. Thousand year old eggs and tofu is their own rendition. sauce is different from how this dish is traditionally made but I really like it, a salty and rich flavor that goes really well with rice or a plain porridge. The bean curd cold dish is different from how it looks in the menu, and they were honest about it and let you know that before you order. The food takes time so be ready to wait for about 15 minutes to half an hour. last time it took even longer than usual but they were nice enough to give me a free sugary drink as an apology. maybe we'll come dine in one of these days to experience the service to see if I want to change my mind about the rating.“

“I was here for my sister-in-law's retirement dinner last weekend. This restaurant is located in the San Gabriel Plaza. It's on the highest floor. It was so packed with people which is a good thing. That means people want to eat here. We had two tables. Each table ordered their own dishes. Our table had about 10-12 dishes which is plenty for 10 people. I didn't take pictures of the entire dishes as I did not want to be rude. I only took pictures of what was on my plate. I'll have to return here so I can take fuller photos. Anyway, all the dishes ordered were really really good. I was amazingly surprised. I have eaten at a lot of restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley area. I think I've been here before, but it was pre-COVID. I think it was a different restaurant name at the time. Nevertheless, all the flavors were so on point. Very very delicious! I don't remember all the names of the dishes so I'll have to go by sight of the pictures and match them with name. For dessert, they gave out the red bean soup which is still tradition at some restaurants... it wasn't bad, but it would have been better if it was hotter. Staff was actually quite attentive. Another surprise, but then again, it is called Five Star Seafood Restaurant so I would expect good foods with good service. They should go hand in hand. Prices were not bad for the dishes and their good portions. One gripe I have is the tightness in space. I feel there is barely any space between our table and the next table to our right, left, front, and back. Our chairs were literally touching one another LOL. I could have reached over and gotten some of our neighbors foods with no issue. Of course I wouldn't do that... I'm just saying... we were that close to one another. I'll definitely be back here to try their dim sum. I don't know if they have lunch specials. If not, I'll come here for dinner for sure.“
