She even brought me a sample to taste before ordering. 20/10 will be trying again!Parking: The restaurant is in a corner of a very busy shopping center. “Today, I discovered a Taishan-style restaurant. I haven’t seen it for a long time. It’s the taste of my childhood. You can add your favorite salty soup balls and ingredients according to your own taste. Their steamed rice is also pretty good, nutritious and delicious. Nothing I ordered was too bad, the dishes were rich and colorful, and the service was very good. I will try their rice bowls and skewers next time. The ones ordered by the next table looked very good, and they also have several nourishing soups. I recommend everyone to try it!“

“Cool place (love the decor/style), nice staff & tasty food. Some dishes you will not find in the average Thai restaurant in the Bay Area. For example, the chef or owner is from northern Thailand so the menu features a top Northern Thai dish - Kao Soi noodle soup (beef or chicken), or the all time fav 'street food' grilled pork skewers (moo ping) served with sticky rice (ck out the menu on their website). I had the Pad Kemao Chicken (menu says beef but they are happy to make dishes with what you like & even have Beyond Meat dishes on the menu - cool to see stir fried basil with Beyond Meat (Krapao Beyond Neur)). The taste of my wok fried pad kemao was delicious, same or better than any I've had on prior trips to Bangkok. Glad to have discovered a solid Thai restaurant that doesn't have watered down flavors. Good to see they have a lot of gluten free and vegan choices on the menu too. Definitely will be back, keep up the good work!“

“On this cold atmospheric rainy day, I'm glad I scored a parking spot right outside otherwise I might given up on trying this place. I'm glad the parking gods were with me today. It gave me the chance to try their Thai beef boat noodle soup. Omg it was perfect. The broth was a flavorful deep sweet soy sauce based broth with earthy spice undertones. The thinly sliced beef was tender. The noodles were al dente with a nice chew. Perfection in a bite. They had cute condiments but I didn't need to use anything. It was super tasty as it is. Anytime I'm in Alameda I'll definitely stop by for some great Thai food. A cute sweet Thai family runs this place.“

“Our neighborhood finally has a new gem of a restaurant! Everything about this spot is wonderful. The attention to detail in the decor (cozy fireplace, exposed brick, distressed woodwork, leaf-shaped cushions, gold silverware, plants galore) is transportive. The food is ravishingly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. On two different visits, we shared Market Salads, Chia Bowls, Yogurt Bowls, and Lava Eggs. This establishment has been around for decades and for good reasons. The service is super friendly. This is definitely a place for friends and families. It is also clean and spacious. There are street parking and also a parking lot in the back. In addition to the food, we also ordered the Thai ice tea and the ice coffee. They were also very delicious. Overall, we highly recommend giving this restaurant a try!“

“Had dinner here Saturday, and the entire experience was phenomenal. We were a party of 4, with two wheelchair users -- we didn't have a reservation, but were given friendly accommodation, willingly assisting us with rearranging seating to work for us. Dinner for the 4 of us was extremely reasonably priced. My wife and I ordered the "Deluxe Set," which is quite honestly a steal. Super delicious, and we had about half of our food travel back with us to Sacramento and become yesterday's leftovers for brunch. (Do not sleep on the Deluxe Set!!)“

“We've been thinking about trying this restaurant for some time now, and I'm very glad we did. Our past Thai favorite, Champa Garden, seems to have gone downhill. Charm Thai Bistro, our new favorite, is much closer. We split an appetizer, the puff pastry turnovers, which we never had in Thailand. The waiter told us that they were street food. Whatever, they're delicious. Then we had a Pad Thai (very good) and a green curry. I thought it was perfect, but it was a little spicy for my husband, so if you prefer a milder spiced dish, tell the waiter. I can't wait to try their other curries and house specialties. I might even try the Black Sticky Rice Mango pudding, even though after having it in Thailand, it's always something of a disappointment in the U.S.“

Mango Duck: I was super hesitant when it read "cripsy" and had low expectations, but man it was crispy and so was the basil and it was great with the red curry. Delicious if you like duck! Spicy basil: Great green beans and tasty dish. Crab Fried Rice: I read all the great reviews about this, and though, you know me, I'm not a fried rice person, I decided to take the plunge. This crab rice was fluffy and the egg mixed in with the crab was fresh and flavorful and not at all fishy. The side chili sauce had a kick to it. Mango Sticky Rice: Sweet mangos that really hit the spot, and a large portion of warm sticky rice. This dessert was enough for share. Service was average, and it was empty during lunch, but the food here is a winner. My coworker was even talking about future Doordash orders!“

“Great Thai in the East bay! I have a go-to delivery Thai place closer to my house but I wanted to give a new place a try. Chai Thai has a great menu, from appetizers to curries to noddles. I ordered Pad Thai with pork, side of fried eggs and an order or chive cakes (gui chai). The food arrived ready to eat and all was delicious. The Pad Thai had great flavor. I love when you get a nice portion of each of the ingredients; meat to tofu to eggs to green onion to sprouts. Each bite had everything. Can't wait to order again from Chai Thai!“

The staff, especially the very polite and nice gentleman in the front, are extremely kind and courteous. The restaurant is well lit and always kept clean. Water and glasses are in the front, self serve. They put up cute holiday decorations today. The mango sticky rice is our favorite dessert to get and it is prepared beautifully. However, we have also dined in a few times, and the atmosphere is casual and nicely decorated.
