“Happened to stumble upon this deli walking around the North end of Solvang. We just grabbed one sandwich for 2 of us and was genuinely surprised. Also tried the celery soda which paired perfectly with the pastrami (The Brady). The ratio and flavor of meat, mustard, pickles, onion, bread was amazing. 10/10 would recommend! We will be back went we visit Solvang again.”

“Got to celebrate my birthday here with a wine tasting and a cheese pairing. The wines are SO yummy - light but still very flavorful. The service was lovely as well, they definitely made the occasion feel special. Definitely check them out if you’re in town!!”

“Stopped in for a quick rest while just passing through and ended up making a night of it. Received such welcoming and attentive service from Jacob I completely forgot I was on my way somewhere else. I don't even drink and I've never felt so welcomed in a bar. Jacob took full creative liberty to make easily the best mocktail I've ever had, and made me feel like a guest in someone's home. Great service, amazing ambiance, way too easy to spend a whole night in here. This will be a necessary stop any time I'm anywhere near solvang. Cant wait to be back!”

“This place is amazing! My husband and I chose to eat here before we got into town. It did not disappoint. I got the salmon and eggs benedict, and I was in love, the hollandaise sauce paired well with the tater tots, too. My husband got the flakey toast, and he really enjoyed them. We ordered a Monte Cristo to try it out for the first time, and it was pretty good, too. We had a great breakfast before heading home.”

“We had a wonderful relaxing 2 for 1 winetasting experience. The wines were good, the cheese plate was EXCELLENT, the spinach and cheese croissant was EXCELLENT, and Anna was very nice with good service. We came to Arrowsmith at the recommendation of the front desk of our hotel. It was only a five minute walk so we headed over around 4 PM on a Saturday of a three-day weekend. The decor is very nice, sort of roaring 20s French art. Nice tables, nice seating areas with leather chairs, nice bar. We had a 2 for 1 wine tasting special, a croissant and the cheeseboard. Our bill was around $66 and change and would've been in the $90s without the special. It was a good bargain and we still would've been happy at full price. We didn't wind up buying any of the wines to go, but we would definitely come here again and maybe stay later for the live music. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 :-)”
“Cool and cute little place! My favorite wine is Wild Thing, peach mango. Delicious! The ambiance is really cool. They had karaoke, and the host, Darcy, sang some songs, and she was awesome! And she is an excellent sommelier! Thank you!”

“What a wonderful small hidden treasure. My husband and I found this on the last night of our 4 day stay in Solvang. Food was simply delicious. Very authentic. I had the taco plate and my husband had the chicken fajitas. I've rarely had such deep flavors in the chicken and steak. The beans- homemade and so good. Rice was good. But the salsa was out of this world. Get the freshly made chips. They're extra but I wish I would have brought an order home. Same with the homemade salsa!! I got a bottle of beer and the nicest young man brought me a chilled mug and 2 limes. This is why we love dining at a small family owned establishment. We'll be back!”

“My husband and I go to Nashville annually, and we've gone to Kentucky specifically for the KY BBQ. We have also gone to North Carolina to have some Carolina BBQ. We both can say without hesitation, that this place has the best BBQ we have ever had. The ribs fell off the bone and the brisket was juicy and cooked to perfection. And the corn bread that is served warm... to die for. Prices were reasonable the drinks were great and the patio itself was adorable. 5 out of 5.”

“Great food, great wines, impeccable service. When I say "Impeccable" i mean it was top notch attentiveness from the reservation through the bill. Friendly, helpful, welcoming, and the food was excellent. California produce and products of incredible quality prepared competently in a delightful setting. An excellent spot for dinner.”

“Couldn't decide on which one to try so I did 3! I got the classic bratwurst, jalapeño cheddar bacon and the rod polse. Buns cost an extra $1 each i believe but i didn't get any cause i didn't want to be too full. My favorite was the rod polse and it tasted so good dipped in the honey mustard. There's a variety of sauces and sides you can pick up yourself after placing your order. It was picnic tables set up style outside, nice on a warm day, but cold on a windy day.”

“I come here often with my two little ones. Alessio is kind and friendly, the Gelato is amazingly delicious, the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the Gelato (or affogato, if you're so inclined), and we love to sit in the back shared space and listen to some live music on the weekends. Can't recommend this place enough!”

“Cute bakery and the name says it all! So many Danish baked goods sold here among the more familiar fair. They also had spectacular cookie houses. I'd call them gingerbread houses but not sure if they're all made out of gingerbread. It's a tiny bakery and a tight squeeze making your way through but manageable and worth it. They also have gifts and trinkets. Staff is sweet and helpful. Would definitely recommend.”

“BEST KEPT SECRET in the Santa Ynez Valley! Literally the VERY BEST baked goods I've ever had in my life! Great prices. Unique, sweet location and just downright AMAZING! People say "awesome" too often where it isn't necessarily true. At Holy Grounds, you're going to find the most "AWESOME" fresh baked pastries you've EVER had, and that's a fact!!! Unbelievable GEM!!!!”
“Love the wine tasting there. The worker knows her stuff about feliz noche wine. We didn't feel rush like in some other winery's which I liked. The ambiance was good. Music was on point. I will be going back and buying a bottle or two.”

“Have a little ice cream romance here. Fine ice cream since the late 1940s. Old tradition. Always very welcoming. Gift stores nearby. Must have this ice cream when visiting Solvang, CA. Excellent customer service. Popular and tourist stop. Everyone loves them. Yes, credit cards accepted. Around $6 for a single scoop cone these days. Pay more for more scoops. No public restrooms onsite at this shop. Order onsite while waiting in line. Beautiful cute spot with good views for taking photos of your ice cream. Come on a sunny day or the photos you take on cloudy gray sky days may turn out less ideal. My hands and mouth were focused more on eating ice cream, so I almost forgot to take photos of it. Ice cream represents freedom and happiness at any age and time. It's always the moment of enjoyment that counts. Delicious and as good and enjoyable as it looks. The place has been here forever. It's a landmark of Solvang. I always come back for traditional chocolate chip, strawberry, or chocolate ice cream flavors. Wide selections to choose from. Pick what you like. Families and friends will love. They never disappoint. It's all part of the experience. Get 10% off if you have trolley ticket for discount. If you're itching for ice cream in town, definitely stop by while you're here. Worth every lick and bite.”
“Had the most fantastic birthday at Alisal! “Alma Rosa is tucked away in a courtyard off of the main road in Solvang. They have lots of covered patio seating and bar top tables inside. The indoor stools remind me of junior high art class seating which was not too comfortable, but they had a some leather chairs as well. They have fun, upbeat music playing inside. Outside food is not allowed but they do have some small bites for purchase. It looks like they're dog and kid friendly. Tasting are $30 and the wine is good, but pricey and nothing special in my opinion, except for the sparkling rosê at the end! Glad we tried it but not my favorite place in town.”
“My wife and I came here and had our first time tasting at this location and our experience was incredible. The knowledge that our host Tony had was awesome and fun and the wines are great I would highly recommend visiting this wine tasting room”
“Juice ranch is my go to for bagels. My favorite bagel is Farm To Bagel and it pairs so well with your morning coffee. 10/10 for flavor as the sprouts, capers, cashew cream cheese and the bagel create a perfect combination of flavors that melt in your mouth!”
“Fun place with an amazing selection of beers on tap and good selection of wines and ciders. Yes, it is $5 for non-members, but it is worth it for the speakeasy experience!”
“We've been a few times and have ordered nearly everything on the menu. Every dish is absolutely delicious! We love that the menu changes periodically so we can keep trying new things. “This place is worth the hype and worth the wait. Some of the best waffles I've ever had. Look, the waffles and strawberries made such a purely sweet combo alone that I didn't need the whip cream or syrup at all. The waffle itself is super moist and soft. No complaints at all, would come back if I ever was in town.”

“Was in the area and was really craving Italian food. After some searching, it looks like Leonardo's was high up there and we decided to give it a try. At first we tried making reservations through open table but they only had a few late spots left. Not liking the options we called the restaurant directly and was able to get seated two hours before the time initially displayed on open table. That was nice given that we were so hungry. We liked that this place was a little further down from the epicenter of the Solvang village so there were ample parking. The restaurant was also very easy to locate. Upon walking in you can tell the ambiance was a little more fancier with their white table cloths but still has a mom and pop feel to it. We got seated near the back of the restaurant where they had an enclosed patio with ceiling heaters. Our server was Arturo and he was very knowledgeable about the menu and even given us a few recommendations. We ordered a carpaccio, the pepperoni pizza, cioppino (recommended), Leonardo's penne, the bolognese, branzino (recommended) and chicken Marsala along with a few glasses of wine. Everything was delicious. The carpaccio was good, pepperoni pizza was amazing, the cioppino was light but filling as it was all seafood. The penne and bolognese pastas were cooked and flavored to perfection. The branzino and chicken Marsala were moist and flavorful, they also came with really good potatoes. Really nice family dinner here. The server always made sure we had everything to our liking and was personable. If I visit Leonardo's again I'm definitely coming back for the pizzas and pasta!”

“Had a chance to swing by Silk Road's Kitchen when my family and I were visiting Solvang. We originally were going to go to Whiskey N Rye because the restaurant looked 75% empty yet they told us it was fully booked for some reason... Regardless we're happy that was the result because Silk Road's Kitchen was delicious. We were seated in their outdoor area and the entrees were made to perfection. Definitely one of the top gyro wraps that I've had! If you're in the area definitely stop by and check it out.”
“Sebastian was amazing and knowledgeable about the wines he served us. I came with my boyfriend, my dad and his friend. We each finished the wine tasting flight and bought some popcorn. I really like the ambiance and set up of this winery. Very cozy and colorful. Thank you Sebastian”

“Enjoyed a half salad and half sandwich in this quaint little spot for lunch. The Cobb salad was fresh and a tasty twist on the original, using prosciutto and Stilton Blue Cheese. The Cotswold Cheddar Cheese sandwich paired nicely with the salad. I was able to wash it all down with a Carlsberg lager - my nod to the Danish heritage the town seeks to preserve. The servers were friendly and thoughtful. The food enjoyed by the rest of my party was equally delicious. I don't think you can go wrong when using such fresh ingredients.”

“This was our second wine tasting of the day and I was very interested to try their sweet fruit wines. We were seated at the bar area right away. They were pretty busy and have limited seating so I was happy to get seated so quickly in a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the fruit wine flight and my husband did the roblar flight. We both took sips from each others' and enjoyed the difference in sweet and traditional wine. Our server was super nice and gave us a detailed description with each different pour. The ambiance was not as nice as the other winery we had just visited but it was to be expected since Royal Oaks is located in the busy town center of Solvang. They were however decorated nicely for Christmas of course! My favorites were the Cherry Amour and Elderberry so I took some bottles home with me. I would come back again to see what other seasonal fruit wines they have later on!”
“Picked up some snacks for our road trip. The chickpea puffs were pretty good! We also liked the chickpea chips with sea salt. But our favorite was the 85% cacao Theo chocolate bar! Trying to make some healthier choices and these were great! Nice store! Reminds me of a Sprouts or mini Whole Foods. The staff was friendly and helpful! Great place to come to and I think the only market in the area!”

“We played bocce tonight and then went for dinner and drinks in the restaurant. It was a gorgeous night and the patio was very busy! We had a large group which I understand can be more difficult. Eric was AMAZING in getting us sat. He was running all over the place wearing many hats. With how busy he was, he still made us feel seen. He took our order and brought as chips, salsa, fries, and onion rings as an apology. He worked his butt off tonight and it was very apparent how passionate he is about his job and how much he cares about the guest experience. Overall, although we had to wait a bit longer than we would have liked, he personally, along with the rest of the very friendly staff, made sure that we were satisfied and had a fantastic evening!”

“Small little taco shop, nothing compared to socal tacos but the food was okay and the service was great. We had to send the enchilada platter back since the entire plate was cold even after they reheated it. However, the staff questioned why we didn’t eat it and offered us full refund for the food. Great service so we left the refund as a tip for the servers.”

“Olsen's Danish Village Bakery is always crowded and busy. It's more traditional over there. Olsen's displays and choices are excellent. The popular Solvang Bakery down a few doors is always where tourists take lots of photos of the interior. It's their Easter egg colors which attracts many moms and children. Birkholm's Solvang Danish Bakery has lesser foot traffic and it's not all fancy , but it certainly has everything you want like the rest of them. It has more spaces to walk around inside. You can actually sit inside to enjoy your goodies. I always buy Danish butter cookies to take home prior to departing. All of them are very good bakeries worth checking out and buying delicious goodies from. For around $20 a bin or buy 3 for much under $60, it's really not too bad at Birkholm's. They all have similar offerings and delicious selections, more or less. Macarons, marzipans, candies, puffy tarts, danishes filled with fruit jams, cookies, etc. Order a beverage or two. It really depends on the type of customer you are and if you're buying items to go or just enjoying them inside the bakeries. I absolutely love butter cookies from Solvang. They are made fresh and each bakery is unique in their own ingredients and baking methods. Creative pastry stops. You can always share with families and friends. Definitely grab some goodies before hitting the roads again.”

“I came here for the chicken pot pie and it didn't disappoint. That along with the Poutine and guacamole bacon burger were all delicious. It was a raining day and the restaurant is welcoming and cozy. The absolute best thing about the experience was the staff. Mikala was AMAZING. As the rain came down more, more people started to come in and all areas of the restaurant had people in them and she never missed a beat. She was alone in the front and there was the cook in the back and together they helped everyone in a timely manner. I was impressed by her calm demeanor and ability to attend to everyone and get the food out and refill drinks. bus tables and still smile the whole time. As busy as it was there was no pressure feeling or rush to leave. I will for sure visit again the next time we are in town.”

“Me and my friends out in solvang for a nightOver to celebrate yours truly for my birthday. We were wondering were to go for dinner. Not realizing most everything closes early. Which we are use to coming from a small town. So we are staying next door at the Corque Hotel. When we walked in, we noticed every table outside had fire...it was beautiful, the atmosphere. The company. The staff were so nice, they even brought me a delicious treat for me bday. Me and my friend order the craft burger with fries and side salad both so delicious. Especially the fries..one of my friends ordered the short rib grilled cheese..omg..amazing. the other ordered the salmon. The flourless chocolate cake, is so delicate and dreamy. The chai tea turamsu..was served in a chocolate edible cup..what the...oh my so creative and yummy to the senses. We also decided to come the following day for lunch...yes that good..come over and try for uour self...Happy hour everyday except holidays..3 to 530. We got burgers again, the only bit i have to say the burgers a bit chard tasting, but they are beautiful to make it better and so they did. We ordered the pepperoni pizza, so delightful. But the main ultimate yummy fest...the sweet and sour cauliflower, can i drop the mic on this...oh my..oh my...$10 happy hour, dinner $17 or 18...its on the pricy side of things, but not to bad..the quality and quanity are worth it...come taste for yourselves...maybe one day ill see u there?”

“We were in Solvang for Spring break and little did we expect many restaurants were closed for Easter Sunday dinner. We had Easter Sunday buffet for lunch and therefore did not make reservation for dinner, expecting to eat light. By dinner time, we were nervous to find out that Japanese Ramen, Italian pizza spots were all closed. We came across this little restaurant and after saying we had no reservation, we were able to seat in the back room (like covered patio). The 3 families of 6 adults and 5 kids actually had a good time, enjoying a great meal at this place, with the room all to ourselves. Food was unexpectedly tasty. Several of us ordered Danish dishes and they were good. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich that I have not had in years. No complaints, just compliments. Service was okay, not great (I strongly believe that for big parties, when restaurants charge 20% tip regardless, service may be subpar no matter what). In our case we did not care, we had a good family gathering time. I would recommend this restaurant for very tasty food and if you were seated in main restaurant part, you may get better service.”
