“I know the place is under a new owner and this is my first time getting takeout from them in general. The food was very hot when I picked up. I only got orange chicken and fried rice because it's just me eating for dinner. I wish there was a dinner combo. Additionally, I would like if there were some things in the fried rice aside from a tiny bit of scrambled egg, some frozen peas and carrots with a bit of onion would do the trick. Flavor of the orange chicken is great. Making the rice more interesting would keep me coming back. I'll come again and try different things.“

“Best won ton soup around!! I'm so glad I found this restaurant when searching for won ton soup one day. It is truly the best won to soup I have ever tried; very tasty and packed with won tons and veggies. I was definitely willing to try more dishes after that, and did! I have my family hooked on their food. Every time I call, they answer. I have ordered for pick up and for delivery. They're fast and always have been very friendly. I will continue to order from them and hope others give them a try as well.“

My kids were surprised at how tasty everything was. Healthy too! We will def be back often!!!! If they have it, the lotus root salad is a must! 3 cup chicken is amazing, wontons, etc… I want to try the wood ear mushrooms next!!!“

“They lived up to the hype both the pork belly and the wontons tasted absolutely good. I can highly recommend it. Qmd we did not hear any names being called during for those on the wait list. Thought the wait time can be long. Bring ansun umbrella for sunny days. Their locals are rather small for the high demand.“

“As a Hollywood resident of 12+ years, this is my go to spot when I'm in desperate need of a hangover cure. The soup dumplings (xiao long bao) are my go to when I wake up feeling hungover on a Sunday. The staff are super welcoming and friendly, shoutout to Mya and Ian! As someone who works in the service industry it was so refreshing to come in to such a friendly and welcoming environment. Everyone is on top of it and food and drinks came out so quickly! Definitely my number one recommendation for food if you're in Hollywood.“

“A friend recommended Jade Wok, and I'm so glad I decided to visit! Jade Wok has all-around delicious, authentic Chinese food. The inside is unassuming, but there's plenty of space. I was immediately seated when I entered on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered a variety of dishes to try. The string beans with garlic is a classic dish. I liked the crispiness of the beans, and the garlic flavor was fragrant. The shrimp with pepper salt was phenomenal. Every piece had a flaky exterior with a soft interior. The pepper salt added a nice kick to the shrimp. Jade Wok has a dish called "Homemade Best Tofu in Town." I would have to agree with the name of the dish - it was simply the silkiest, softest, best tofu in Chinatown and probably across Los Angeles. The tofu is freshly made and smothered in a savory, rich sauce. I would come back to Jade Wok solely for this tofu dish. I had such a delicious meal at Jade Wok, and I will definitely be returning in the future for another round of standout dishes!“

“I live near Thai Town (in Hollywood) and there are many good Thai places to eat, but none are HALAL. So when I want beef and chicken dishes I drive to Lam's.Their food has been consistently good for the 6 years I've been going here. The staff is friendly and efficient. I always order TO-GO and my order is always ready at the given time.Try their authentic Thai dishes like Prig King or Larb, Pad See Ew.Dietary restrictions: HALAL“

“Definitely a staple in koreatown! This is the OG location! They specialize in lamb and beef kebabs but they also have plenty of other kebabs. Another favorite of mine here is the deep fried sweet and sour pork. Everything here is definitely packed with flavor! Come hungry and leave happy! The service here definitely has gotten better and the quality of meat is still really good! I also love the upgraded self rotating grill. Prior, we had to flip them ourselves. Only con is that there's no parking lot, so you have to look for street parking.“

“You know a spot is good when the only menu displayed has faded photos of various dishes with no descriptions or dish titles. Only the real ones know. Every time I come here, I meet a local who’s been coming here since the 80s or 90s and it is so comforting to know that a place like this exists. Love the food, owner, consistency, quality, and history of this place.Run by one guy and one guy only, make sure to be patient while waiting for your order if it gets packed, maybe clean up the tables around you while you wait. Doesn’t hurt to help.“

“If you can't get to SGV, where the quality and selection of Chinese food is incredible, Sam Woo is a great valley option. Standouts are their BBQ meats; roast duck, roast pork , char siu. Good selections of all noodle dishes; chow menial, Lo Meir, chow fun. Then like most Chinese restaurants hundreds of options. The key here is their consistent authentic dishes. Casual and good service.“

“I stop here sometimes in the morning before work to get donuts for everyone. They're so good. It's just a woman and her husband and both of them are super nice and super helpful. I went in today with a friend of mine to get lunch and it was really good, really filling and affordable. The woman working seems to really care about the customers and will talk to them and remember little bits about them. If you're ever in Silverlake you have to stop here. Q“

“The food is authentic Cantonese Chinese food. It’s freshly made to order. The flavor is scrumptious. My Mom and Dad went there before I was even conceived. Now Iv taken my family. The decor has never changed nor been upgrade or kept up. Visually it’s unpleasing and very tight space. It’s a hole in the wall. If you only care about the food then definitely come here.Kid-friendliness: Your kids can be rowdy lol..“

One Jjamppong is big enough for to hungry people with a Pork Dumpling App to start. (Also the best steamed pork dumplings I've ever had in recent memory. ) Happy eating!“

“Formosa Cafe is a treasure. From 1939 to this day, serving the best and doing it in such a way that you feel it is their honor to have us (when it is really the other way around, imho). Formosa Cafe is legendary but it escaped me. I feared a musty, dated, sleepy, barely sanitary fossil of a place, the way I imagine some restaurants that are rusting on their bay laurels from long ago are. Nope. This place is fresh, bright, smells wonderful, spotless, cheerful, and with a decor that made us feel as if we should have dressed for the Red Carpet, circa 1939 itself. See my pictures. How about the food, for vegetarians? We got to choose from the breakfast/brunch/lunch/dinner menus and there was enough that we didn't get to sample everything we wanted. Every dish was clearly made to order. It all came to the table piping hot, in beautiful serving bowls offsetting the rich velvety reds that dominate the atmosphere. The vegetables were crisp, perfectly seasoned. Nothing was dull and nothing was painfully hot -- all just right. The walls entertained us while we waited. Dozens of stars have signed pictures that festoon the ceiling area and talked to us in our very own booth. While I am at it, there are several areas in which to dine. I wanted to be in the middle of the action, so we sat in the main room flanked by the mile-long bar. Everyone, from the woman who greeted us warmly and promised us we would not leave hungry (she was right -- the portions were beyond generous), to the gal who prepared our beverages, to other staff who came by with a smile to be sure we were happy (yes! delirious, actually), to Bryan, our personal attendant who was helpful in making suggestions and who, upon inquiry, confessed that he loved the food at Formosa and had a number of favorites to recommend. The dessert was just as delicious as everything else. I know we will be back every time we want Chinese food.“

“This is one of the best restaurants we know of. Not only is the food fantastic, but the owners and staff are amazing people. They are very kind and considerate, and very willing to accommodate large groups, or an occasional special request, etc. We've had several larger groups events catered by them as well and they are terrific to work with about these. And let me mention again how good the food is! They have a big menu and we've never had a dish that didn't look and taste great. It's not just Chinese food but they have some other Asian dishes as well.“

“I've been coming here for the last 5 years. The portions are great and the soups are to die for. My go-to soup is the Liuzhou soup. Just a heads up, the establishment definitely caters to a majority Chinese crowd, so you know the food is legit. Be respectful and keep an eye out for your order number as they will probably announce it in Mandarin first lol“

“This place was great overall! We found parking on a Sunday afternoon right in front and our server was kind and attentive. It wasn't busy so we got quick service. The black bean noodle (Jajangmyun) was up to par with what I've had before, fried rice was also good, and the sweet and sour pork (Tangsyuk) was DELICIOUS - super crunchy and more than enough sauce.“

“I'm giving this a 4 because it's good for Chinese fast food, probably more of a 3.5 but we can't do that, the food quality is not the best but the taste is good with everything being moist and juicy, I live off of Sepulveda and Devonshire so it wasn't something I will not be going to much because of distance but had to try it and was pleased with it.“

“My husband and I were visiting our family in Sherman Oaks, CA. The first night we arrive we always eat their food - whether take-out or at the restaurant. This time we also ate the night we were leaving. The manager and her staff were so accommodating to us. The food was excellent. We did not finish all the soup but the manager offered to put more soup in the container for us. Very thoughtful of her. The ambiance is average but that is not why we eat there. The only problem is the parking lot. The best way is to nter is from the Coldwater Canyon entrance. Rhonda S.“

“Found ourselves in Chinatown area and after reading the positive reviews about this place, we decided to give it a try, and oh, what a nice surprise. There was plenty of free parking adjacent to the place. We were there on a weekday, so not sure about the weekend parking. The place looks like a whole-in-the-wall mom and pop eatery, and you know you're about to experience some authentic Cambodian foods when you see a bunch of other Cambodians patrons in the restaurant.I ordered the stir-fry beef noodle which is similar to the Chinese chowfun noodle. My partner ordered the chicken lemongrass with rice. The rice dish also comes with a side dish of pork soup. All dishes were delicious and the portion was also generous. The restaurant was full, so it took awhile to get our food, but it's definitely worth the wait and we'll definitely be back!“

“Such great Chinese food! I'm glad they're open on Tuesdays now. I usually get pick up for Chicken Fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, or Shanghai noodles. The food is always perfect and delicious. Today though... I ordered SnS Chicken and when I went to pick it up they had told me they are no longer mixing the sauce in because it gets soggy. I love it soggy!! And it's not even soggy. Just a perfect sauce mix ratio. So who ever complained about it being soggy... you just ruined it!!! I'll order it next time and ask that the sauce is mixed in.“
