“A party of three dropped by this restaurant for lunch on the way to visit Stanford campus. We ordered a couple of Grilled Fish, a Turkey Club and a Large Onion Rings. The food was excellent for a quick bite, and the atmosphere outdoor seating was great. Driving through forest winding mountain road to get to the restaurant was a good experience.“

“I’ve been going to Bucks since I was a child, before big Tech took over my hometown and sent the cost of living forever skyward. It’s the perfect place for anyone with a wild imagination. Every inch of the walls are lined with bizarre trinkets and curiosities.I was recently was visiting and happened to stop by for breakfast. Unfortunately I missed the cutoff by 20 minutes. So for the first time in 30 years, I tried the lunch menu. It was decent but reminded me of this strange phenomenon I’ve experienced with most Bay Area legacy restaurants. Something about the food in the Bay Area is “faded” for lack of a better word. It’s like the soul isn’t there anymore. Everything tasted like it had been frozen before and I wasn’t too impressed considering the hype and history of this spot.Maybe it was a fluke. But I suspect that this “tired and faded” feeling is probably a side effect of the trying to exist and survive in a region being consumed by tech moguls and mega rich.Dietary restrictions: Sparse gluten free options.“

I ordered the Pollo Pimentón with an added fried egg and yuca fries. Let me say, I will be back for sure. The owner is a sweetheart and she made sure I was satisfied before I left. She even let me taste small samples of the other menu items. This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem in the San Mateo area. The music and unique look inside while dining gives an authentic vibe. “Super cute cafe with amazing drinks and food with hints of Asian influence. I ordered the black sesame latte and the ricotta yuzu toast. The toast was especially impressive in the way in brought together a variety of flavors. Everything about the interior was modern. cozy and picturesque and I had really enjoyed staying here and working on sketches.I do want to note that I arrived on a Friday around 2pm and the place was pretty packed and their pastries had already sold out. I would come back earlier next time for the croissants :)“

“Quality food. Excellent cocktails. The menu is a bit boring and dishes are a little overpriced if you care about that. Been here a few times and the only thing that stands out in memory would be the cocktails. The quality of food is consistent, it's well prepared, and it's a safe bet to take people when you don't know their tastes. Good atmosphere too.“

“Wow! I came here several years ago and was disappointed, but they have really turned it around. Our palak aloo and paneer tikka thali were flawless and perfectly spiced. The naan was perfect and the samosas were exquisite. Can't wait to come back here!“

“I had the linguine with clams, which was delicious! My husband had the special branzino which was also excellent. We shared the Rosa Di Mela (hot apple tart with vanilla gelato), which disappeared in an instant! We had a lovely server, who was so helpful and knowledgeable. All of that was wonderful and we'll certainly be coming back for the food & service. The only negative, is that sitting outside, you are right on the sidewalk by a road. If they could perhaps put up a bit of a screen or trellis, or maybe just some nice pots of flowers & plants, it would make the entire experience tremendous!“

“Ate lunch much next door and decided to drop in for a quick espresso - well it's a restaurant, and they had just closed. Oops! He curtly said we could get some coffees and drink outside as they were cleaning the inside and people were still hanging out outside. Stoked he was willing to make a few espressos and a latte to go. The espresso was sized like a doppio, and the flavor was good, but thinner and more volume than I wanted, not as strong tasting as I would like, but he didn't overdraw it. This is just their style. Grateful he let us get coffee, but since we had real cups for the espresso, we 5 stood around a table for 2 outside (the only open table) finishing our piping hot espressos - so it took a few minutes, and we were sort of clouding a party of two at the next table - Sorry! So sorry! Well happy to finally try the espresso at this place. Check hours before you come, totally reasonable that they would close at 2pm. My bad!“

“The pizza was overall pretty good - got the margarita pizza, however for the price preferred the pie to be slightly bigger. The crust was great and tasty, and the menu had many vegetarian and even vegan options. Ordered their bread pudding - would definitely not recommend, the bread was very dense and dry. Otherwise pretty good food!“

“Random food truck I found on the side of the street lol, but it had good reviews so I had to try it. They are generous in their serving size and everything tasted pretty good too be honest. It's not as spiced as a lot of other restaurants, but that's also ok. I think it may have more turmeric than other places though. It's a one man army and the food is good, so 7/10.“

“I have been to this place only a handful of times. Each time the food quality and service never ceases to amaze me. The food is spectacularly delicious. The service is quick. Don' t let that deter you in thinking the food quality must lack. On the contrary, they use fresh ingredients and the fact that they are so busy they food turn over is great. you know you are getting fresh cooked food. Hands down the best pakistani/indian restaurant in the bay area. I recommend the halwa puri thali on the weekends and the spinach gosht on the weekdays with garlic naan.“

“The outdoor patio was perfect for our Sunday brunch and our 18th Anniversary. We’ve celebrated many occasions at All Spice and have always had a stellar experience with the staff and the food. Our table felt intimate — we were sharing a large space with four other tables, appropriately distanced. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Again, all Covid-19 compliant. The food, oh the food! The Dutch baby was perfectly cooked and the fruit fillings were gorgeous. The chicken sandwich was out of this world. The Mimosa and hard apple cider beverages were on point. We always love our meals at All Spice and this time was no exception. It’s a total gem!“

You WILL return for more! I met Phillip yesterday and when he learned that I am a musician, songwriter/performer with a current release, he immediately expressed genuine interest in my music. In fact, I believe that he downloaded and Play-listed my song “St Francis” right on the spot, and then he shared his delight in hearing my music with the lady who was also working with him behind the counter. You cannot buy this kind of energy he expressed! Phillips’s reaction to my music made me feel so good inside. I was humbled. “I’ve ordered 3 cakes from here in the span of a month. I was so impressed with the 6in mango cake I decided to get more for a coworker birthday and going away cake.The cakes are beautiful and delicious. They’re pretty standard cake prices ($30+) I call or email ahead of time to order. The fruit cake doesn’t seem to be available all the time, but it’s totally worth. I didn’t get a pic of the tiramisu :(I’ll be looking forward to getting more cakes in the future! The other pastries from here are good, too!“
